Previously Erica had told us that JML had a new scent Sea Salt & Bergamont, which we were able to sample at a prior event, but we had to wait for the release. We called her to get an update on the release and she advised us it's still not available in store, but she can send it out by mail. So we opted to that and with an additional purchase, she was able to include a special gift and samples. Delivery came without a hitch and everything arrived as expected and more. One of my friends bought me a bottle of peach perfume from Joe Malone and i wasn't that crazy about the fragrance so I brought it back today. The sales girls let me exchange it for the newest fragrance which smells light and fresh which I prefer versus heavy perfumes. I feel like people should come up to you and sniff you instead of perfume walking into the room before you do. This is important in selecting a fragrance that is personalized and not overwhelming. It's better to spray the perfume and walk into it rather than the perfume or cologne having its own presence in the room! My experience at Jo Malone London in Costa Mesa South Coast Plaza mall was absolutely wonderful. This one is located on the 2nd floor in between Macy and Nordstrom. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about helping me find the perfect fragrance. I had called ahead and spoked to Erica, the store manager, and she was so helpful. She told me it was fine to exchange colognes so I visited this store and was helped by Tiffany N. Both ladies were super helpful. I really wanted to give bright stars to Tiffany as she was very patient in helping me pick my new fragrance. They took the time to ask about my preferences and guided me through different scent combinations without any pressure. I have been a long time fan of JML and always get their Nectarine Honey & Blossom as well as their original Gardenia scent (this one totally discontinued and bummed out about it) but decided to upgrade to a more sophistaced scent. I went through a lot of scents like citrus, fruity, florals, spicy, and woodsy. Had a hard time choosing between English Pear & Sweet Pea vs. Wood Sage & Sea Salt. After many samples and sprays and walking in and out of the store to refresh my nose, I ended up with Wood Sage & Sea Salt. I also found out that their Tuberose Angelica Intense cologne smelled very similar to my original Gardenia scent so I grabbed a 100 mL size of this one. I was super happy to find the right scent for me and it totally made my day. I used to layer different scents in the past to create my own unique scent but now I just like an easy simple application with the scent always perfect everytime. The store itself is elegant and inviting and it is super clean and organized! Love the attention to detail, from sampling to beautiful packaging. There's even an option to customize and personalize your bottles! Maybe next time I will do it as a wedding or birthday gift for a friend. My first time ever in a Jo Malone store and buying a product! Very exciting, although the shop was a little more cozy than I expected. I like how the tester/smelling station was set up (by scent family) and was stocked with plentiful test strips. I wish the trash receptacles were a little more visible or there was signage because my fiancé and I both looked around for a couple minutes before finding one. I believe Felice helped me (at least that's the name on my receipt) decide between Wild Bluebell and Blackberry and Bay colognes. She described the similarities and differences before giving me some time to decide. I ended up going with Blackberry and Bay but I'm sure I'll be back for the other soon! I was strolling through South Coast Plaza and had to stop by because I have been a Jo Malone fan forever. The associate was extremely helpful in selecting fragrances that can be paired together. This was pertinent as I wanted to share the fragrance with my husband and we can actually mix and match without clashing scents. What made the experience more elevated and personalized was the ability for the store associate to monogram our fragrance bottles. How cool is that!? And it was done for free on the spot too. Another cool feature was the availability of the latest fragrance such as the Paddington Bear inspired Orange Marmalade cologne. HORRIBLE customer service. They only wanted to upsell you to kits instead of helping you find what you're looking for. They had no samples nor tried to make you one despite asking. The older woman with the pearl choker is unprofessional and has a bad attitude. Whoever hired and keeps her needs to be assessed. Please don't give this brand your money. Loved the wedding experience ! Tiffany was amazing, she picked out great scents for us to try and we ended up finding our wedding scents. They also have the engraving machine there, so you get it the same day and you get to pick where you want it engraved and the font. Had such a wonderful first time experience at Jo Malone London -- thank you Nadia for all your help and making the experience memorable! For the longest time it was on my wish list to do the fragrance experiences that were offered at Jo Malone London. I personally never wore any scent that felt like me, only wearing whatever I was gifted growing up and my everyday deodorant. Hey, it got me this far in life and sometimes department stores can be overwhelming trying to spray you with a multitude of celebrity scents! My best friend had done the experience before and when he shared it with me I could not wait to do it! The idea of working with experts to find and mix scents that I could fall in love with sounded so unique and personalized. We booked online the day before and we're lucky enough to be taken care by Nadia, who was completely welcoming and patient with me and my inexperienced self. Not only did she facilitate my experience well, she also answered all my questions, helping me to feel more confident in what I liked and didn't like, and gave us great tips for layering and usage. She did the Scent For You tours for both of us and a Hand & Arm massage for me that honestly made me feel like I was taking a self-care day at the spa. We had such a blast throughout the whole experience! Once we made our purchases, we both were gifted a sweet little goodie bag with some samples and a small bouquet of flowers. I enjoyed everything so much, I definitely recommend coming here and taking advantage of the knowledge from the experts. Today I received the best service ever from the Jo Malone boutique at Costa Mesa! Soon as I stepped in to the store, Felice patiently assisted me with trying out different types of cologne. What I appreciated her most was that she was never pushy, yet quietly stood by and provided a lot of useful information when I needed. Additionally, she went above and beyond by offering me "bonus items" once I showed a sincere interest to purchase. After starting to study perfumery in France this past summer, I (re)discovered my love for all things Jo Malone at the boutique in Cannes. Fast forward to coming home to OC, I find myself in the South Coast Plaza JM boutique every chance/weekend I can get! All the stylists on the staff are wonderful, knowledgeable and they are true gurus of the brand. Dana (the 2018 Jo Malone Global Stylist of the year!) has become mine and my sister's go-to stylist for all of our JM needs - keeping us in the loop for all the SCP location events, introducing us to all of the season's newest scents, and this past weekend she gave us hand and arm spa massages which was divine (a free perk for anyone! Just go on the website to make an appt)! Yes, you can find JM products online, in the deparment stores and at Sephora, but you won't get the true Jo Malone experience if not in a boutique. I used to think I didn't really like JM colognes, but realized it takes time to smell, understand the notes in each, and play around with the layering. When my husband first gifted me my first Jo Malone perfume (nectarine blossom & honey) along with a box full of samples I fell in love with them all! I've had nothing but terrible experiences here. Came on a Friday night and there were piles of boxes everywhere. We couldn't walk around them to get into the store, so we left. I decided to order online and pickup via curb side pickup. I was never sent a confirmation email--I had to call them, only to hear "we've had your items ready a few days." No apology or anything. After arriving at the store, the bags were not labeled. I ordered two different kinds of candles and they were wrapped separately. I asked the employee, Erika, how to identify the candles and she stated:"Well...you could try smelling them" in a sarcastic, rude tone. I will never come here again. Horrible service. Lack of communication and organization. It's hard to believe this is an actual store. The First Cologne I ever bought was Amber & Lavender by Jo Malone. It was designed as an anniversary present for her Husband in 1995. I bought that same cologne that year and I have loved all of Jo Malones scents ever since. They are clean, crisp and fresh. Made of surprisingly refreshing scents such as Grapefruit, Orange Blossom, Amber & Lavender, and Nutmeg Ginger. Her bottles run 100 bucks for a 3.4 ounce and are designed to be layered. I layer the Vetyver with Amber and Lavender for a masculine clean scent. Her scents truly are remarkable and have a "You will notice me ! " effect. Jo Malone started off as a facialist in London and then mixed her own scents and now sells both scents and skin care. Her Frothy mint cleanser is highly recommended. A little goes a long way and the bottle will last you forever. Seriously, its the best cleanser I have ever used! The sales staff is friendly and will over load you with samples with your purchase. I love this place. Not so much the store, as the product. The store is nice and the salespeople always seem to be friendly and helpful. Jo Malone makes very nicely scented perfumes, body lotions, soaps, candles, etc. My first favorite was the Orange Blossom, now I adore the Red Roses. It smells just like Persian rose water, not rose perfume. I never recommend giving someone perfume for a gift, unless you specifically know what they want or like, since it's so personal and everyone's tastes are different... but a gift from this store would be excellent. Have you ever seen Love, Actually? If you haven't then you need to see it, it's one great film. Anyway, if you have then you'll know what I'm talking about, and you'll know why you need to shop here for your fragrances or gifts. :D Remember that one scene where Rowan Atkinson (mr bean!!!)'s character goes into the department store to buy his wife a gift, but it wasn't really for his wife or something (i don't recall the scene too clearly, but this next part I remember for sure).. he gets something like a candle that's nice and he asks for gift wrap? Okay, so Jo Malone does the exact same thing with their gifts (should you ask for gift wrap!) I bought a set of 3 2oz. candles in a citrusy, floral scent as a gift, and the gal was so wonderful to help me choose, since it's always hard to shop scents for other people. She wrapped it up pretty much exactly like that scene in Love, Actually! She put the candle set (already boxed) inside a larger box (lined with some clear cellophane), filled the box with a variety of complimenting potpourri, sifted in some rose petals and other flower petals.. tossed in some dried fruit slices (all complimenting scents to the purchased item too) put the lid on the box and tied a gorgeous black ribbon bow on it. This process took about 10-15 minutes FYI.. lol. They have an amazing selection of scents & fragrances, from woodsy to floral and everything in between. they can even custom make a scent for you too if you want (at a "nominal" custom fee). sure, they're a little more priced than say, Yankee Candle that's sold in your local Bed, Bath & Beyond stores, but you really do get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong. The scents are bad ass and I really like their cologne, but my experience today totally ruined it for me. I went in to buy some refills for my cologne. I was met by Julia Yi, who was either COMPLETELY out of it, on drugs, or just having a really bad day. There were only two people in the store, me and her. Whatever I asked to try, she came back with something else. I asked for Pomegranate and she came back with Grapefruit. I asked to try Vetiver and she pushed the Sea Salt on me. I asked for Lime Basil and She came back with something else. I don't know what her distraction was but she clearly wasn't listening. Then she tried to get me to sign up on her mailing list. Ok, fine, but I am already in the system and I told her. She said she insisted I sign up. I told her to look me up first and if she can't find me I will add it. She refused and she wanted me to add my info again. All in all she was clueless, had no clue what was going on, what she was doing, nor was she familiar with any of the products, at least in my experience. I got so flustered I left. People, they offer free shipping. Save yourself a visit to the "boutique" and order online or from headquarters. Ok..they've somehow managed to top themselves. My mom and I came here for the 15% birthday month deal since it was my mom's birthday this month. This visit, I took the time to smell the scents (I pretty much just smelled the rose one last year and went with that) and each scent is so interesting and different- it depends on the person, but you will find some amazing, and you will find some not so pleasing. Randomly, I was reading a magazine in the waiting room of an appointment earlier that day, when I saw an article on perfumes and they showed a picture of a Jo Malone perfume box set which consisted of 5 different perfumes..this magazine was from Dec but I thought I would ask anyway and see if they had any left...they did! Got 2 of the last few sets. I also want to commemorate Brianna on her excellent attention to customers. She was the only one working at the time and give special attention to each customer in the store. My mom was in a wheelchair, and she offered to ship our purchases to our house so we wouldn't have to carry them around..it's REALLY difficult to push around a wheelchair with huge shopping bags. Brianna was super friendly and helped us pick out products without being pushy. She even gave us a ton of samples. Jo Malone is an addiction I really can't afford, but I buy the stuff anyway because, well, it's an addiction. And pb&j sandwiches for lunch for a week is well worth the sacrifice to get another one of these babies... A friend turned me on to JM about a year ago when her aunt bought her some scents, and I went into the SCP store knowing nothing about any of their fragrances. The clerk spent about half an hour with me, letting me smell everything, layering different combinations, and really listening to my feedback until we arrived at my perfect persnal combo: Blue Agave & Cacao and Pomegranate Noir. A few months later I added Nectarine Blossom & Honey. Yum! I went back Friday just to see if they had anything new, and the clerk was very snotty, didn't suggest anything new to layer with my perfumes, and basically made me feel like I was invading her giggle time with the other clerks. Minus two stars. Then JM earned back a star Saturday night because I wore the first two perfumes layered together and I've never received so many compliments. Women and men were shoving their noses into the nape of my neck to try to guess the scents... Good times for the whole family! And a fourth star earned for JM. read more

The deal is to mix a couple bottles and make your own scent. Is it obvious that I love perfume? I have been frequenting the Jo Malone store and the ladies have always been very nice and helpful. It's fun to try on the different scents and to combine the scents you like. It really adds another level to the mix. Don't be shy and go in to test out the fragrances. They are not overpowering and have a classy feel. I like the fruitier scents. I am still contemplating if I should purchase some for myself but as of yet, I just borrow some from my sister to see if I am ready to fully commit to a bottle. I was greeted and helped by Elizabeth the Manager, I was amazed at how friendly, and helpful she was. The best part was you could tell she had total faith and love for the product she sells. I originally came in just to purchase the new Wild Bluebell fragrance, Elizabeth helped me put together great combinations that included Jo Malone scents I already owned as well as ones I had yet to purchase. I love how she didn't force or pressure me into purchasing anything, she wanted me to love it and not just like it. Of course I ended up leaving with 3 new scents instead of just the 1. She introduced me to the Jo Malone Oils which I had yet to try because the idea of rubbing oil on my body seemed a little odd to me, but after trying them in the store I knew I would be coming back to purchase a few oils later this month. I left with my purchases, some samples, and a list of items I would be getting next time.
