I had been assuming they were just a little overloaded and busy. I didn't really need the item that day but my husband really wanted the item that day drove about 20 minutes to go pick this item up because this is the particular store that had the item we were looking for all others were sold out We entered the store and you could tell they were right out very busy. We spoke with the manager who's name is "D" she was very pleasant and very assistive and trying to help us locate. The item told us at one point that it would be about four or five days before we received it because there was so much inventory in stock in the back room that needed to be put out. We were a little upset about that, but there was really nothing we could do about it and then out of nowhere, she recalls her photogenic memory and says I know where it is. She went out back and she grabbed the item for us and we actually bought another one from her. She's been working at that store for 20 years she said and you can definitely tell she knew exactly what she was doing. I dread going to JoAnn! Alice needs to go. I've seen her be rude to other customers, telling the customer that once the transaction has been started, no coupons (after the customer realized she didn't receive the sale price). I think it's time for Alice to retire. Just rude. I'll drive the extra miles up the hill to go to Michael's. I have shopped at Joann Fabrics in Hooksett and Concord NH for the past 20 years and would shop elsewhere if they were not the only game in town! I don't know why I subject myself to the store. The employees (mostly the Concord location) are scarce, dismal, rude, and utterly condescending...they trigger me every time! Not one of the cutting table employees that I have recently encountered has made me feel welcome. Rather, I get the impression that I am a nuisance and incompetant. The register ladies are much kinder, however there is rarely more than one working a register, which is also frustrating. Additionally, the store is crowded with bins and shelving in the middle of isles making it difficult to maneuver a shopping cart and the floors are filthy. The 'sales' are really just hyper-inflated prices with a certain % off...the coupon offers are also frustrating as they have certain conditions, like very short date ranges. The coupons almost never really fully work in favor of the customer. It is no wonder the organization has recently filed for bankruptcy (not sure if the NH stores are still in bankruptcy). I will be doing everything in my power to shop online or elsewhere in the future! read more

I am so impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the staff here. Not only is the store well organized, but the people are friendly and go out of their way to help. I needed a certain yarn and they weee willing to find it and bring it to the store so I didn't have to drop be around. That's awesome service. read more
