Donna who is apparently some type of manager there is incredibly rude and lazy. Would rather explain In detail how she doesn't have to time cut a piece of fabric in half than actually spend an extra 20 seconds to cut the fabric. What ever happened to customer service? It was fabric for my daughter and her friend and they wanted them to match so we needed them cut separately and she refused. I was greatly disappointed with my most recent visit to Joann's in Grants Pass. The store was in disarray, the floors were dirty, and the bathrooms filthy. When I commented about the condition of a previously clean store, I was told hours had been dramatically cut along with wages. I saw this happen to the store in Medford several years ago. This shows a true disregard for their customers--let them stand in long lines to have fabric cut or to pay for their purchases. It also shows disrespect for their employees--do the work of 2 people, deal with the complaints from customers about things you cannot fix (long waits), and have your pay cut. I doubt corporate is this inept, so what's the plan? read more

Its pretty much like all Joann fabric stores I've ever been in, has tons of crafty things and fabrics, and is overall pretty organized. The prices are pretty darn high (I think) unless you are smart to utilize any and all coupons. But with coupons you can find some neat stuff for all your art/craft needs! Today we found yarn on sale, some needlecraft, some deeply discounted halloween stuff, and some patches. With coupons the whole shebang was a little under $20. I'll take it! read more

Every time I go to this store I swear it will be my last. Well today was the day. I wanted to buy a new iron which for some reason are kept behind the counter. The sales girl could not have been ruder or more unhelpful had she tried. And don't get me started on the coupons. I went to Fred Meyers, got the iron, which was on sale, brought it to the checkout and the gal said "I think we have a coupon for this". And she did!!!! And I got a few dollars more off the sale price. This is customer service. I will drive the half hour to Medford for my craft supplies. I'd give it zero if I could. read more

I heard through somebody who used to work here, whom I trust a lot, that management at this store is horrible. I'm not usually a JoAnn's shopper. I am a quilter and so I use better quality fabrics than JoAnn's carries. But I had to get some elastic for a project. And I spotted a nice pair of pajama bottoms sample they had to promote a class. I knew I could make those for myself. The ladies at the cutting table, well, they've had better days. They weren't using the numbered tickets, and when they went to help me I said there are people using tickets (as about four other women had pulled tickets after me, saw there was a timely difference in what was last called and went onto other areas of the store to shop while waiting for their number to be called). I didn't want to take someone else's spot. I was nine numbers away from what was on the screen. That meant there could possibly be nine people ahead of me. I certainly don't want to take cuts in line. I thanked the clerk for calling out the numbers on the PA system, and she snidely said to me "well I knew there wasn't anybody else. I knew you were next." Really? I think that was uncalled for. So I spoke with management. She didn't seem to care either. If you have a system in place that people are used to, why are you not using it? This sometimes we use it, sometimes we just have customers line up and we take whatever's next. So no consistency. This is a small town known for nice people. The young man at the checkout counter was the only nice one I could find. Bye bye JoAnn's. read more

This store is great for fabric and sewing needs. Not super impressed with overall customer service, but sometimes the staff are helpful. One staff member showed me how to get more coupons! Today it took me about a half hour just to find 100% cotton yarn and there wasn't much of it! About 80% of the yarn in stock was Acrylic. Lastly, there isn't an art store in GP that I know of and Joann's hasn't picked up the slack. Maybe get rid of all the wedding junk and stock up on some Gesso? :) read more

I'm so glad that we got a Jo-Ann's in Grants Pass! They have a great selection of fabric, as well as a wide variety of other craft supplies. If you have a project or plan on making something, they will most likely have everything you need. read more

Well, I wasted another half hour at Joann's today. Clerks are lethargic, and say things like, "I'll be over there in a minute to help you." You see that there is only one person around that they are helping so you obediently go back over to the area they tell you they will come over to when they finish with their current customer. You wait... and wait ... Finally you return to the cutting table (they weren't bothering with numbers today - ostensibly because it was 'slow'), only to find them cutting for someone who just showed up with a large pile of bolts of material. They are just getting started so you've been forgotten, or deemed unimportant. I'll take my business elsewhere, since this isn't the first time I've wasted too much time in this store, and accomplished nothing. read more

I was visiting my mom in Cave Junction and I needed some small paintbrushes to finish my oil painting. I was very disappointed to see an entire area with 1 brush left. Empty shelves and compartments everywhere. When asked if there were any brushes in the back we were told that they would be in today but won't be available until Friday. it is Monday so we went to Wal-Mart instead. Empty shelves = loss revenue. Continue to do business this way and you'll be out of business. read more
