The order was delivered quickly and the other that I picked up was ready when I went to store to picking up.

My first time going into a fabric store, and this experience was awful. Cindy was extremely unprofessional and abrupt with 2 customers before me and then myself. The lady in front of me had a simple question about the length of the fabric, and Cindy was unwilling to help in any way. She spoke about the customer "under her breath" but out loud and told her she should have known what she wanted before she came to the cutting counter. I also had a simple question that was answered with extreme angst. I was even more disappointed to hear that Cindy is a Manager there. Won't be coming back here again, I'm sure the ladies in line with me feel the same way. read more

I know Joann Fabrics is closing but I'm adding this review on the off chance that some employees will see it. I first came to this store in July 2024 about 3 months after I started crocheting and I've come back dozens of times since. Each time I bought new yarn, the employees would compliment the color, ask what I was making with it, and share what they made with similar colors and textures. Being new at something can be intimidating but these interactions made me so excited to continue learning! There were two especially kind women who work here, both of whom have grey hair and glasses. They, and other employees, created such a warm atmosphere and I had a positive experience pretty much every time I went. The selection was amazing and they always had some sort of sale. This was by far the best location I visited as far as variety, organization, and overall presentation of the items. I'm devastated that Joann is going out of business. I'm wishing everyone who works here a smooth transition once this store closes. Thank you for everything. read more

Worst worst worst customer service ever!!!! I'm so bothered. I called to check in for an item, and the lady had an attitude with me and also she put me a hold without even letting me know. She was putting me on hold while I can hear everyone in the background, I waited five minutes and she never came back to the phone so I hung up and called back and when I called back, she had an attitude again. I asked to speak to the manager, and when I did that the manager had the same attitude as well. I don't understand why, customer service sucks nowadays in the store on top of that having a manager with the same attitude as employees makes the store horrible overall read more

I have been in here a couple of times but probably not again. Their selection is much smaller than other stores but it is in a small strip mall in Arcadia so I get that. The problem last time was the manager, Linda. Sadly, she was on the phone loudly talking to someone about her personal situation regarding someone in the hospital or doctors or something. I felt bad for her. Then I got to the line and there were two situations in front of me (I was third in line) that the cashier had to call the manager who did not help the situation or even try to accommodate the customer. read more

I get the whole Covid 19 situation going on. But the whole point in placing an online order for curbside pick up is to avoid waiting in line to get in. I placed an order early morning Saturday. It is now Thursday and I have been told 3 times now. They are still trying to pull orders. Funny I placed an order with Joann in Peoria and it was ready next day. They are now saying they have order amounts that amazon has. Ya right because your one little store has that much inventory. Update. I decided to go to the actual store to pick up what I needed which was a walking foot for my sewing machine. There was 1 person waiting out side. I went inside and the guy and girl that were supposed to be pulling orders was just standing around. I asked them for help to find what I was looking for and they acted annoyed. I'm pretty sure they are taking forever to pull online orders because they don't want to have to keep going in and out of the store read more

The store was nice, and the employees were pleasant. As I was shopping, I heard the PA system announcement that they were doing all they could to stay clean and safe during the Covid pandemic. The customers were all wearing masks. However none of the employees were wearing masks! Employees wear masks everywhere i go, but these people only wash their hands to keep me safe. I kindly explained to the checkout lady that my mask does not really protect me, it protects her. Her mask would have protected me, and thus the entire community. Clearly these people are clueless. Next time I will go to SAS, where they all wear masks to protect each other. read more

When I read some reviews about other people's experiences after I had placed an order to pick up in store I was worried about being able to pick up my order at all because of the wait times that others had mentioned. However I was able to get it within minutes. I've always had a great experience at this store and I'm really glad that they opened a location closer to me again. I stopped by this new store yesterday that had a grand opening day three days prior. I was so appreciative that Joann came back and opened a branch in central-east Phoenix. Years ago, there used to be a Joann nearby on Indian School Rd and even by Christown Spectrum. After they both closed, Joann kept Joann Etc located all the way northwest at near Arrowhead Mall and all the way northeast on Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd (which eventually moved to Desert Ridge, something like that). That meant they both were too far and way out. Armed with a Joann coupon mailer that I received in the mail, I stopped by to pick up the Joann-exclusive resin holiday miniatures that I needed to decorate my holiday shadow boxes. The Halloween ones were on sale for 75% off and the Christmas ones were 40% off, and combining the coupon, I got an extra 20% discount. How about that ;) Although they had minor trouble getting their register to discount the Halloween items, so the staff had to override it and manually apply the discounts. Thank-you for not making it awkward for a customer in me as I exerted the coupons and made sure that they were applied to my total- and, not overcharging me. The staff was pleasant overall, and it wasn't busy as I was there in the evening. The store was clean and tidy, and it looked and smelled new. The craft and fabric selection in stock were plentiful, although it's smaller than a Joann Etc. I was actually there only for the Joann exclusives, which is all Joann stores in the valley. Prepare to wait in line for hours. To enforce social distancing they allow 10 people to shop at a time, in a huge store with as much square footage as a typical grocery. Staff asks each person to limit their visit to 10 minutes but doesn't enforce the time limit. No wonder Wal-Mart is out of everything. read more

I actually recommend going to the Mesa store!! Cindy is a 5 star rock star!! Goes above and beyond!!! I have NEVER gotten that at the 32nd street and Indian street store. I am a small business owner and I am in Joanns 3-4 times weekly and that store still doesn't treat me the way Cindy from Mesa did. I had fabric transfered from Flagstaff to Mesa and when I pick it up I plan on telling the manager just how awesome Cindy is!!!! Wish 32nd street store would be more like Cindy and get some customer service skills!!! read more

Great promotions, coupons & lots of inventory. Only negative is they're always understaffed which adds stress to employees, impossible to find floor help & long wait lines to check out. They may think less workers will cut their expenses but from personal experience + all of us wishing we could find an employee on the floor and frustratedly wait in line long check out lines are dramatically reducing their sales. This issue is shared by everyone. It is not recent it's been this way for years & I am speaking for many. Joann's is known for being understaffed. read more

I could speak about my experience of customer service and friendly employees (love Cheryl at the cutting counter, who has given me loads of sewing tips and the confidence to take on bigger sewing challenges), but I'll share my husband's instead. There is nothing my husband despises more than craft stores. My husband would take spiders over craft stores. They are only getting one star cause I can't give them zero stars. I came here which was very far from my home due to their closure of the one near my home. They sent me an email giving me an extra 20% off to use in store and online for today is the last day. So I went and picked out quite a few items to apply my discount to and the cashier said she needed a barcode. Well the email did not provide a barcode. She called Danielle over to read said email. She read it then asked me if she could hold my phone and see it clearer. I mean sure but we are in a pandemic. Read the room. After reading clearer the obvious online and in store across the top. She told me she couldn't honor it. That it is an online only coupon. This coupon clearly states online and in store. (Picture posted below of said email). She gave me no good reason why she couldn't honor this coupon except that she had no barcode to scan. No wonder they are going out of business they have the worst customer service. At that point wouldn't you honor the code ? Doesn't make sense. Either way. I left my items and will not be returning to their stores again. Especially during this time any act of kindness is appreciated. I normally don't go out of my way to review places, this lady just really doesn't know how to be nice to customers. read more

My wife went on tonight to purchase some acrylic paints that they had on sale. When she got to the register and it came to $60 she pointed out that they were supposed to be on sale 5 for $5 and John the manager behind the counter very rudely pointed out to his sales clerk that it was only the bottles for $1.49 and under. when my wife and a sales clerk pointed out that was not written on the sign it was simply 5 for $5 John just ignored that fact and my wife walked out empty-handed. You would think they would be a little more customer-oriented with Michael's being so close which is where I'll be doing the rest of my shopping from now on. I'll be calling the store manager Anastasia on Monday and see if we get anywhere. I'll update if anything changes but for now it's definitely one star or less read more

I found what I needed but I left feeling pretty awful after being treated rudely by an employee. Some items are locked so you have to ask an employee to unlock them. The woman I asked for help (in a nice way!) behaved like I was a nuisance and didn't say a word to me. A simple "hello" or "sure, let me help you" or a "you're welcome" would have gone a long way. read more
