I would spend thousands to order fabric online before I would ever shop at this location again. Terrible customer service! Employees lack product knowledge. I went in to get ONE piece of fabric. It took more than 2 hours. 1st of all, I asked one employee if they had a specific type of fabric and she didn't even know what I was talking about. This is a fabric store! She then proceeded to ask another employee who put her finger up in the air as if to say, "wait" and continued having a personal conversation on the store phone. Despite the fact that this is completely inappropriate customer service, I waited to no avail. After waiting for quite some time and realizing I wasn't going to get help there, I walked around the store to find a 3rd employee. The 3rd person, Naru, was beyond helpful and the only reason they even deserve this 1 star. I thought my troubles were resolved but then after waiting in line for another 30/40 minutes, I decided to pay via the store online so that I could take my item without waiting longer. Despite the fact that I showed the order to the manager, I was still made to wait even longer, just for this same manager to call from the back 30 minutes later and say I could NOW leave. It is beyond me that I was made to wait an hour for something I paid for and showed proof of payment. I should've just taken what I paid for and walked out. I stopped in to purchase a yard of fabric I had chosen from my visit the day prior. The fabric had a sign indicating it cost $7.99 per yard. I went to the counter and asked the clerk to verify the price she responded very curtly, "it's 11.99 per yard." I then told her about the sign and we walked to look at it. She informed me that sign was incorrect. So I asked, why is it here? She then pulled the sign off shelf and said, "I don't know." I got my fabric and walked away thinking I was done with this surly sales person but no, she had to go to the front and serve as a cashier. Luckily, I was called to the other cashier. That cashier asked the surly sales person, if there would be staff coming on at 2 o'clock, and if she would be covering for her while she took her break at two. The surly sales person responded, "Nobody's coming in at two and I'm leaving at two" and she walked away. I was a bit taken aback and frankly so was my cashier. She looked at me and said she's new at this store but she really knows a lot. I looked at my cashier, and said yes maybe but she's very rude. My cashier shook her head and agreement, I think not wanting to say anything negative. I told my cashier that I had shopped there many times and I've always had friendly service. It's unfortunate that this surly sales person is now in our friendly Tallahassee store. Certainly, any future visits will be rare! read more

Not as big as most locations, this Jo-Ann store did the trick, and I was able to find everything I needed, and since it was a bit smaller store, with I found it easily. It still has some space, and an openness to it, but expect the same things (fake flowers, fabric, ribbon, scrapbook supplies, jewelry stuff) that you've come to find at this store. Smaller location, no lines! There were only a handful of folks in the store when I was there, and waited all of 2 minutes to be checked out. Also, as always, used a coupon and saved some money as well. What I selected from this location I used for pop-up dinner table decorations and place settings, and it turned out exactly the way that I wanted. :) She's crafty, y'all. read more

I'm here fairly often because I love to craft and because The Naturally Healthy Pet hosts their weekly pet adoption events next to this store so I bring my foster fur babies! This Jo-Ann's is nice, certainly big and spacious and they have a ton of fabric, it occupies half the store. Which is great! On the downside, they have a scarse supply of anything else: So scarse variety of brushes, acrylic paints, clay, sketchbooks, pencils , pigma ink pens, etc etc...oh and no wool felt. At all. So if you don not need anything too specific chances are you can find it here...if not Utrecht and Michael's in town are a little better stocked in these areas. Do not forget to use your Michael's or Jo-Ann's coupons for 40% off any item! They come once a week in the mail or you can google them and use the coupon (either Michael's or Jo-Anns) from your phone! :D read more

On a cross country trip from West coast and popped into Joanne's looking for a plastic storage box. They didn't have what I needed but deserve a positive yelp review. Staff was super helpful and welcoming. Clean restroom and free wifi. The parking is a bit of a debacle and that was at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon. If I didn't have to fly back cross County I would have left with so many treasures. Wish I could take this store and staff back to California with me. read more

I keep coming back to this store for a variety of needs since moving into a new home. I am embarking on my first curtain-making venture, as well as a few other decorative DIY projects. My only wish for improvement would be better labelling in the fabrics section for those of us who don't 100% know what we're doing. Staff are helpful, but I usually can visit only after work when the store is quite busy. I have started looking up my items online to see the descriptions and suggested uses, and then looking for them to purchase in-store to make sure things look how I expect from the online photos. Would not a reasonable person think that if you needed to exchange 4 cards of buttons, with or without a receipt and requesting no refund, it would be any easy transaction? Not so at this store. 2 managers refused to allow me to exchange 3/4 inch buttons for 1/2 inch buttons which were purchased for a small project. I was told that since I did not have my receipt for this small purchase there was no way to "prove" I had actually purchased the buttons or that I had not used a 50% off coupon. When I restated that I did not want a refund, only an exchange, I was told in a rather excited voice that they, the managers, would lose their jobs if they did not follow corporate policy. In my 50+ years I have never seen a retail outlet refuse an exchange in such a situation. This store always create situation where every customer is forced to stand in a long line eve. With multiple registers available, you can bet there will always be only 1 employee at checkout. I do not shop at this store often and have never complained, however I do not appreciate 2 petty women accusing me in a veiled manner of shoplifting or someone who would misrepresent coupon use. All I wanted was to exchange 12 buttons for another 12 buttons. Sounds easy but was too large for them. Their only offer was to buy back the buttons at half price. After calling the Customer Service number and being told I would be called within 48 hours I am of this writing now on hour 55. The local store is filled with non-thinking employees and the corporate office could not care less about the customer. Enough said. read more
