And a lot of by Annie patterns -- love those bag patterns! Pittsburgh has lost a lot of of their quilt stores, so this is a bit of travel. It's an hour to get there, but Trax farms is nearby, and they have a pretty epic deli, and also just over the hill on the next big road V&V Scratch Kitchen. Both really good places for lunch, V&V is a little bit more expensive.

But, the shelves are pure chaos. Not because customers put things back in the wrong places. There just doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the products' positions on the shelves. I was specifically looking for some organizer bins/baskets/containers. That aisle made my head hurt! Things weren't grouped by color, or by like item. I saw a cute set of desk organizer baskets I liked, but they were not the color I wanted. I searched for the ones I wanted, and saw how everything seemed to be haphazardly placed. I sometimes don't mind chaos, but in a store aisle dedicated to organization, I do, in fact, mind chaos. We did end up buying a small toy which was on clearance. I let my son stand in line while I looked at some things on a shelf near the registers. There was one cashier, and she very rudely snipped at my son for standing in line behind the other customer, instead of behind the "wait here" sign. (This was in 2026. No Covid, no pandemic. My kid can read, but he overlooked the sign and stood where he would/should at any other store.) Overall, this is not the worst store, but it doesn't have anything special, and I left feeling bad, which is not what I want from a shopping experience.

A nice variety of workhorse and upscale, arty yarns and fibers are available, including a good selection put up in cones (a better value for weavers and others who go through a lot of a specific yarn). Several brands were stocked in a wide variety of colors, making it easy to plan colorwork projects. Prices seem reasonable too. Other supplies available include needles, hooks, and circular needle sets; embroidery and cross stitch supplies; a variety of products for washing yarn; buttons; books; table looms; and decals and pins for showing off your fiber fandom. Moon and Yarn is a great place to find offbeat gifts for the fiber artist in your life. Even though the place is well stocked, it doesn't look cluttered. Everything is attractively displayed. There's also comfortable seating as well as a large table with chairs. Currently, Yarn and Moon hosts crafting nights on Wednesdays, open to anyone who'd like to craft with others.
