Definitely not the type of store I regularly shop, but they have t shirts for good prices. These have helped with scouting events. At the cost good for artwork like tie dying, or paint ball games. They certainly have a lot of fabric to choose from. Am not into sewing or design, so don't have the experience to judge anything . Have heard people say they are competitively priced. Store is in a busy area. There's no getting around Seven Corners. Parking usually is pain free. Really nice employees here. They've helped this "fish out of water," politely and with dignity. If you need fabric, this is a great place to look. I found beautiful fabric to cover an heirloom rocker & it is so gorgeous that we get a lot of compliments on it. I also recently got some mosquito netting to cover a baby fig tree for protection from Brood X aka 17 year Cicadas. Waaah! The staff here is always friendly and helpful. During my most recent visit, the young gentleman at the register was telling me how he grew up across the street and he was very proud to be working at his hometown store. They also have a small variety of crafting items, as well as some home goods. They do have sales, and often the non-sale items are a bit pricey, but the fabric is always a good deal. If you sign up for rewards you will get coupons and if you are a first responder, military, or a teacher you get a discount, which I greatly appreciate. read more

When I inquired how to obtain some the staff found 50 ways for me to go away and figure it out myself. At 4:21 pm today the Manager on duty never found time to speak with me. I walked out, never to return. Stores like this can't complain when Amazon takes over the world. Don't waste your time, energy, or gas bothering with this store! Horrible store. Not sure how they are still doing business there. A mess! You can always organize the store and make it more presentable. Nothing had prices, hard to tell what's on sale or not. Not a lot to choose from/ Zahra was the person checking me out. I had to ask her to give me the price of 3 out of 7 items I had in my cart. One was a big scrapbooking paper pad (12x12), she said it was missing a sticker so she couldn't tell what the price was. She then said "sorry, can't sell this to you because it's missing the sticker with the price". What?! I guess employees don't care and it's not about making a sale or helping customers out. I hate leaving bad reviews. I have a lot of empathy and patience for employees who work in retail, as I was in that industry for years, BUT when the same issues happen the last three times I popped in here, it warrants a review. Do not even THINK about putting bolts of fabric into your cart until you check with the employees at the cutting counter. This is the THIRD time I've come in that they've decided to close early (hours say till 7pm - but they decided 6 is better for the employees) and shut down the cutting counter at 5:30. I asked why the change in hours, and a male, teenage employee told me they were short staffed. Ha. Funny. Literally saw two other employees in the front of store gabbing with one another and being loud. This evening I spent 40 minutes going through all their fabric, checking my quilting pattern to make sure I had the correct yardage, adding fabric to my cart, and headed to the counter. It was 5:30. Again, hours say they close at 7. Lady at the counter (white, middle aged lady, who smokes) told me they were closed and no longer were cutting fabric. Huh?! An hour and a half before closing?! She told me they were closing at 6 because they do that from time to time. I explained to her how long I had been there shopping and asked politely if she could please make an exception and cut my bolts. She said no, and walked away. I was incredibly frustrated. Another worker came by (Hispanic, shorter, middle aged lady) and I took a deep breath and asked her the same thing - can you please help me out? She was not happy that I was asking her and also told me no and to put my fabric back. My free time, like most people, is incredibly limited. I'm trying to finish a quilt for my daughter's graduation in a few weeks and now have to resort to other stores to finish the backing. I took the day off tomorrow as I was planning on pulling an all nighter to finish this quilt. I will never come here again. No matter what kind of sales they are running. It's not worth the surprise store hours, grouchy staff, and chaos. Do yourself a favor and go to the Fairfax, Woodbridge, or any other Joann's location. Better yet, check out Fabric Basement in Hybla Valley. Their stuff is a bit more expensive, but the phenomenal service, huge selection, and knowledgeable staff is worth it. If you aren't already an expert don't waste your time asking for help at this store. Understaffed and their way of dealing with it is to make you wait in a long time to ask questions so they can play dumb. Fabric selection is mostly fleece for blankets and you'd better be able to find everything yourself. read more

The store layout isn't the most intuitive or clear, so be prepared to do some hunting to find what you're looking for. Wort shopping experience. I truly hated shopping at JoAnn's store at Seven Corners, VA. They have the rudest associates, the most outdated fabrics and a bad pricing system. I hadn't been in that store in years and was shocked to find the state of disarray, how hard it is to find not only the type of fabric you are looking for, but also which price goes with what. The prices are marked differently on the bolt of cloth and the isles, some have price down stickers, who knows. Different types of fabric are all mixed up, look dirty, or are thrown on the floor and stuck in large containers behind the cutting counter. The isles are blocked by freight, it's so hard to maneuver the shopping cart. Just because it's about the only fabrics store left in the DC area and I had already made the trip, I kept looking. I spent more than two hours to finally find a few pieces I liked but when I was heading to the cutting counter, the associate announced, out of the blue yelling out loud, that the counter was closed and she was not cutting fabric anymore. She was turning everyone away 45 minutes before closing time. I saw this elderly man who had also had a hard time finding fabric being turned away in the rudest possible way. Another lady told me that she asked for a certain kind of fabric and she was dismissed in the same way. So, I left empty handed but returned a few days later because I already had made my mind on the fabric, only to find that the pieces I liked where elsewhere, the prices had gone up, and, oh the horror, the same associate. This time there was another woman who looked like the manager so I thought well, at least I don't have to deal with the first one. They were loudly and happily chatting away with each other and ignoring everyone around. The "manager" or whoever the other woman was, turned out as rude as the first one. I mean, these women exude aggressiveness, it's like they abhor dealing with costumers. And the prices turned out different, and higher, of course. Last night I went to Joanne's at this location. I arrived at 8pm the sign on the door stated they were open until 9pm. The doors were locked and the lights were on. There was an employee at the cash register who could clearly here us knock, but continued to ignore us. There was no sign on the door for notification of why the store was closed early. I understand that staffing issues can happen, but the employee straight up ignored my family and I put in the cold. Is that how the Joanne's teaches their employees to treat customers? read more

This is a pretty small and unorganized JoAnn's..... I feel like the asiles are always really messy and things are not where they are suppose to be. Prices are good and such and customer service is good. However, the selection is small and basic. Still the best selection in the area but I have seen much better JoAnns elsewhere. At 38 weeks pregnant the nesting instinct is strong. I've always been crafty but suddenly the need to create baby headbands and macrame wall hangings at 2:00 in the morning has overcome my very being. I've always dismissed Jo-Ann Fabric's for the Michael's crafting superstore next door but a recent visit has changed my mind for one thing alone - - COUPONS! I was stocking up on card stock when a very nice lady asked me if I had a mobile phone because all of their card stock was currently on sale, 7 pieces for $1. I saved six dollars on the spot! She also told me that I could combine coupons on a single purchase so I was also able to use a 40% and 50% off coupon in one transaction. My wallet has never been happier! This store is a bit hard to navigate but I found tons of specialty holiday items and crafting items that I have not found at Michael's and there are tons of project ideas just walking around. Since the store is smaller it's less overwhelming to walk around. That being said the store is a bit understaffed so going through the lines at peak times can be a test in patience but it really isn't that bad! read more

My Check Out girl was very unhelpful, and made my experience one I will not forget, And I will not be back. Cashier (RESUME ID 4) I had called earlier in the day and knew exactly what I wanted. I went online and got coupons. I arrived and found my product and promptly took it to the cashier. She informed me that I had to go back to the Cutting table and get a note on the product, I guess a Yellow Price Tag? The price was on the Item I picked up, why did I have to go to the Table? Anyway, I got the TAG, Went to the front and was told I could use no coupons? The price on the Item was FIXED. When I got to the register it magically changed to almost double? It was set in stone online and on the item in the store. Im had to wait at "The Table" for 20minutes? TO get a Yellow Piece of Paper? I begrudgingly bought my item after discussing my purchase with my CASHIER, no help, no discount, not very nice. It is a shame, I am done With Joann Fabrics, They USED to be a nice helpful store. I only go to Jo-Ann's when: 1. I can't find what I'm looking for at G Street Fabrics (located on the other side of the shopping center) 2. I find a 20% in-store coupon from their ads online A plus is that there are always sales on fabric, (buy 2 yards and get 1 yard free type of deals) but since this store is seriously understaffed, there's always a long line at the cutting line and at the register. They don't nearly have as much selection as G Street does in terms in fabric, but if you're looking for your basic cottons, denim, rayon, knits, fleece, and other common fabrics, you should be able to find it here. I dislike how they moved all of their seasonal items (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc.) to the front, so whenever I walk in the store, I get punched in the face with the smell of the season. For example, during Christmas, all I smelled was a mix of cinnamon and pine trees... and during Halloween, the store reeked of candy corn. The store is also unorganized for the most part, but the good thing is that there are often coupons that you can find online that are applicable on sale items and promotions so you can always get a deal here. read more

I purchased a plastic container. After I got home, I noticed that one of the clips to enclose the lid was missing (meaning broke off). When I tried to return it (few days later), a person who appeared to be a manager, gave me the hardest time refusing to process the refund stating that they would not place a defective product on their shelves. I happened to have picked up the last of it's type so I told her that if they had more, I would happily go for an exchange. She said that was the last one and processed the refund. Manager extremely argumentative, aggressive and condescending to customers at fabric cutting area. I need 6 yards of fabric for 2 tables she insisted on cutting 5 yards from 1 bulk snd 2 from another bulk. I would ended up with 1 table with 2 pieces of fabric. I nicely explain to her that I need the same amount for 2 tables. In front of 8 customers waiting in line ( yes 8 because the understaffed) started screaming at me that I don't understand me b cause of accent ( I am Mexican) that I been aggressive and to stop asking for 2 pieces of sale size. I was not aggressive, I patiently waited 20 minutes! I left without purchasing the items because of her condescending behavior. I am a paying customer that deserves respect as I respect others. I was a regular customer at Joann's until today, I won't take discrimination from anybody. I never complained about the long wait to get the fabric cut or the unorganized store. Regarding my first visit on Monday April 2: I was purchasing two items. Because there was a line at the cutting table I just skipped considering a third item and went to checkout. The manager was helping the only customer at the checkout with something complicated, and he called for another cashier. When she arrived another lady with a basket was behind me, and the cashier was fussing with the register. She asked me an inaudible question smiled and motioned me to the register where the Manager was STILL helping the same customer. The second cashier proceeded to help the lady behind me - with a bunch of exceptions on her phone. The cashier then said "you are at the max of three "and the lady continued to give her paper coupons. I asked the second cashier "why did you take her before me when she was behind me?" She said because she's a team member. I said and I'm a customer. And was in line first. With foot traffic at a premium in retail, this store is missing out on maximizing customer experience. My review would be "zero" stars if that were an option. The negative reviews posted here all confirm what I experienced recently. I purchased 9 skeins of yarn on line and went to pick up at the store. When I arrived home, the bag contained only 8 skeins. I had been charged for 9 on my credit card with a receipt to prove it. I called the store and spoke with a woman who first said that they only had 8 skeins left, then insisted she could not send me the skein without charging for shipping, even though it was the store's fault. I protested and said that surely there must be a way for her to make this transaction right. She then berated and lectured me, and claimed she would personally go to another Joann store in the area to obtain another skein, but that I would have to go to the Falls Church store to pick it up, to which I reluctantly agreed. She was to call me when the skein was in the store. Well, she never called back. Approximately 2 weeks later, I called the store again, this time reaching someone who sounded like a manager, who asked me for the name of the woman with whom I first had spoken. I said I did not get her name (my mistake) and she said she had a lot of people working at her store and that she couldn't do anything to help me. I explained that I was simply calling to arrange to get another skein, and she then said she couldn't know if I was lying about the incident. I told her my credit card had been charged for 9 skeins and had a receipt. She then took my name and number and claimed she would call me back when she "had more time." Of course, she never called back. I am sending a letter to Wake Miquelon, CEO of Joann, Inc., and Joe Thibault, Senior VP, Store Operations. They need to be made aware of the unbelievably bad customer service and extremely poor attitudes of their employees at the Falls Church store. Lame is the only word to describe this store and my experience here today. Just order online if you must and don't waste your time. I received a "Handmade Heroes" gift card for my work in making hundreds of masks and other ppe, but both the teenage cashier and the manager were clueless as to how to use it. After spending over an hour trying to find a few things to purchase, most of them totally overpriced, I wasted another 15 minutes trying to get it rung up, only to walk out empty handed. Just made my last trip to this store. As a crafter and quilter, I have been to this store many times and today was the last straw. The line for cutting fabric was long but customers were courteous and pleasant. The one employee cutting was slow so the manager came to help. The manager was not happy to have to cut fabric and let us know it. Then the check out line was quite long and many customers had pricing concerns slowing down the process. Two check outs were open and one cashier left with a very long line. I realize that it is hard to get workers and even harder to train them appropriately but customers are the reason the business stays open and they should treat us with some respect. When things go wrong, be honest and acknowledge the problems. Communication goes a long way. Joann Fabrics, please train employees properly and always treat customers with respect. read more

Joanne's... What an odd little store in seven corners! I have never been to another Joanne's store, so I can't compare it to other Joanne's but more comparing to other craft stores. Pros: -always a sale or coupons (if you don't have one pull up one on your phone on Joanne's website -they have nice fabrics Cons: -takes me a really long time to find an associate when I need help finding something or fabric cut -when I do find the associate they look upset- the employees create a really sad atmosphere -I have never seen more than one check our land open -everything seems to move really slow in this store All& all many more cons than pros, but I keep coming back- so they must be doing something right! read more

If you were to draw a Venn diagram showing fabrics that respectable humans would wear in one circle and fabrics that are carried by Jo-Ann Fabrics in the other, the circles would not overlap. This location is no exception. Expect massive lines, slow paced service, and a selections of materials that range from "WTF is this?!" through "Too campy to be worn on Duck Dynasty."
