My mom is a brat. I know most people would not say that about their mothers but she comes from a very special breed. I, along with my sisters understand this and as members of this select group, we always have to make sure she is comfortable at all costs. This is why when she's in town, her visit feels more like a production than a loving reunion. So where do we take someone like her in the middle of this scorching summer heat? Joaquin's Bed and Breakfast in Tagaytay City.
First impression went well, my mother was immediately given a cold glass of pandan juice. The rooms were rustic and charming, it didn't feel like a soulless place, inside you would find little trinkets that looked like it actually came from Joaquin's home. The view from our bedrooms were amazing and each one of them had a little garden where kids can play and the adults can drink coffee. All in all, I'd say that we'd stay here again except that my mother had a few "observations" that she rightfully pointed out to the receptionist before checking out. But that's just her, I had a good time and plenty of sleep. (Which I think is the only thing you can do in Tagaytay aside from stuffing yourself)
Tips/notes:
1. You're allowed to bring food and drinks. Enjoy the view, you don't have to go anywhere else.
2. They have CIGNAL cable! (not that you should watch TV all day)
3. Attendants here were all so nice, especially the ones that carried our bags.
4. Our breakfast was just okay, the view from the restaurant made up for it. read more
