It was a weekend of back-to-back weddings in Kawayan Cove and Alfonso, and my Dad and I figured it would be best for us to stay overnight in Tagaytay so we don't have to head back the following day. The inn he initially booked, gave us a room different from the one he saw and reserved, so we were left with no other logical choice but to look for another place to stay. After about 7 hotels and inns, it was almost 1am when we found Aroma Hotel.
It's actually a home, converted into an inn. Quite modest and a bit old, but good enough for the night. When we got there, the clerk at the front desk gladly answered my queries regarding the rates, the types of rooms available, and indulged me with a room check. Clean and decent enough, my Dad and I checked-in and made ourselves comfortable. For less than PhP2,000, our room had a king-sized bed, air-conditioning and even an in-room refrigerator. Best was that the toilet was new and clean, with complimentary toiletries to boot! The following day, we got our complimentary breakfast of fried rice, one viand and egg cooked to our liking. Over breakfast, we saw that they even had a pool where there was a group celebrating a birthday party. It was a good discovery and we'll probably be back the next time it's more convenient to spend the night in Tagaytay rather than heading home. read more
