Not an upstanding business. Replied to an advertised rental, stating we are long-term and asking about an income limitation attached to the property. Having verified that I understood, I proceeded to complete an application (49.99). When I went to the open house, Travis let me know in an 'Oh, by the way" fashion, that the property was ONLY a one year term. They made it very clear in the post about the income but NOT about the term. The term is the very LAST item on the page (you must selct to see more and continue to scroll down - it is not mentioned in the description or top information). When I got home I texted asking kindly for a refund of my application fee because had I known (after already disclosing that we are long-term renters) I would not have applied. I received a BS response telling me I should have asked about the lease when I applied. If you have ever looked for rentals - they are all listed similarly with 6 mos or 1 year terms. There was no special wording to indicate that this was a special situation. NOWHERE. Also said they had no affiliation with Rent Spree and there would be no way to refund. I have been hunting for a year and I only apply when I am serious because I cannot afford to pay for multiple application fees. While I do not think this was intentional, it was their error in not making it as clear as the income stipulation and I feel I was robbed of $50 that I desperately need. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HONEST BUSINESSES and HONEST PEOPLE who do the right thing just because it's the right thing to do. Not just an "Oh, My bad - toodles!". Sorry - if they're that way over something smallish (to them) - I wouldn't want to think about what they can sneak by you on actual real estate. Zero likes - 1 star because Travis did respond to my initial question about the income (where he also had the opportunity to mention the lease and didn't). read more

My aging aunt in the Bay Area keeps receiving a torrent of unsolicited junk email from Jody due to my property in Huntington Beach which passed to me when my father died. I have to use my aunt's address for my USA mailing address as I live in London, UK but it causes her a lot of anxiety to keep getting bombarded with rubbish. I got in touch nicely to confirm removal and was assured by Travis (DRE #01996062) that the address was removed. However, the mailings keep coming and the most egregious thing is that it was first addressed to me, then my dead father, and now simply 'neighbour', despite being hundreds of miles away. The Jody Clegg Team (poor minion Travis isn't even allowed to say his own name on his mobile voicemail) is now not responding to my calls, voicemails or emails and I have had to take the matter up with the relevant statutory bodies. I have never been as frustrated and disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism I experienced after placing an offer on a home recently listed by Jody Clegg and her team. It became a multiple-offer situation and during the entire process our agent simply couldn't connect with Jody over text, email or by phone, although he tried several times a day, every day. He was greeted with nothing but silence. I am a realtor in AZ and I'm pretty familiar with the rules governing our industry. In our Code of Ethics, Article 3, it states that "Listing brokers should make reasonable efforts to keep cooperating brokers informed." It goes on to say that in a multiple-offer situation, "...fair and honest treatment throughout the process, coupled with prompt, ongoing and open communication, will enhance the likelihood (all cooperating brokers) will feel they were treated fairly and honestly." I have to believe that because she was so absent for the buyers' brokers during this process, she couldn't have been working in the best interest of her own client, the seller. I absolutely refuse to show interest in any properties listed with Jody Clegg going forward, as good communication is always key to a successful real estate transaction. Lesson learned. read more

We had a very disappointing experience with Rand P. of the Jody Clegg team, as well as Jody Clegg herself. Rand wasn't terrible, but don't expect him to put in the extra mile - or even an extra hundred yards. Rand was representing me as a buyer. We toured homes together for a few weeks before I found a particular home I really liked. It turned out that Rand was casual buddies with the listing agent for that home, and they both said that would make everything go smoothly. The listing agent said that the seller would include most of the furniture for the right offer, so I put in a big offer for the house and furniture which was accepted by the seller. Rand included some language in the contract about negotiating the furniture that would be included in the sale. Early in escrow, the listing agent had me email a list of the furniture I wanted, and later he had me mark it in person during the home inspection. Long story short, after I'd already spent thousands on appraisal, inspections, and other fees, I discovered that the listing agent was lying the entire time and never discussed this with the seller, who in fact never had any intention of including any furniture in the sale and already had an estate sale scheduled. It wasn't Rand's fault that the listing agent was lying, but on the other hand he wasn't able to make any headway in getting this issue resolved or making things right. Eventually he put me on a call with Jody Clegg. Jody ripped apart the language that Rand had used in the contract, and ridiculed me for the specific wording as if I had written it. She said I never should have expected to receive any furniture based on the poorly worded clause in the contract. My protestations, that I had trusted Rand as the professional real estate agent representing me, fell on deaf ears. I was insulted when Jody suggested that I should just buy some furniture from Ikea instead. Rand and Jody weren't able to do anything to make things right, and kept pushing me to close even though I had made it abundantly clear that I was not happy how things were working out. Thankfully I was able to back out of escrow on the inspection contingency, after the seller refused to do anything about major safety issues that turned up during inspection. Having since worked with a real estate agent that actually goes the extra mile, I realize how little effort Rand was putting into representing me. He didn't give much guidance about the market in general, didn't try to set expectations (thankfully I already knew that homes are selling for over list price right now) didn't provide comparables, and didn't point out errors in listings (e.g. that a home office does not count as a bedroom if it has no closet) which should affect the value of the home. He also gave the inspection report that I paid for to the seller without asking me. read more

Jody Clegg was initially was very accommodating. Listed my properties with her team(I was given the impression she was the broker, but she was not). Unfortunately the pandemic struck and that slowed everyone down for a short period. I was not getting any offers so" I" lowered the price and proceeded to get multiple offers. Jody then passed me off to her TEAM and in the end the deals got done, BUT with many hiccups and no followup and no return phone calls when requested, until they needed something from me. In this pandemic there were inspections requested with promises of inspectors wearing masks and cleaning up afterwards, which did not happen and after confronted offers of cleanup which were far to late to help. After the close of escrow no communication what so ever,never even a confirmation that my two escrows closed, except a card that was sent to all that all that lived in the neighborhood, that they sold my properties in world wind fashion, mind you with no permission from me to use my name or properties to promote her business and her business practices, which I do not. In the end the properties got sold, but at this point in time all properties are selling with virtually, with all receiving multiple offers, so I do not believe there was anything extra done or any service that I could not have received from any competent real estate professional. read more
