I'm in love with this locally owned ultra premium olive oil shop! They sell the freshest olive oil I have ever tasted. Seriously, come here and sample some olive oil, then go home and taste what you have in the pantry; you will be shocked at the difference! I can't believe I was cooking with and eating that rancid stuff! The staff is wonderful. They will help you with suggestions with combining olive oils with the balsamic vinegars. My favorite oils are basil, mushroom & sage, and smoke. My favorite balsamics are lemon (white balsamic that tastes like fresh lemons), traditional (aged 18 years), and espresso (surprisingly fantastic on salmon). I love the extra burst of flavor these oil and vinegars add to my cooking! The store pours your oil fresh into the bottle size you select which is great because you know you're getting what you just sampled! (Balsamics are poured fresh too.) Today 4.8.2021I called the Bay to Bay location because I needed to pick up a gift (very last minute on my part) and I called just as they had closed expecting to just leave a voice-mail about picking up my order on Monday. By chance the owner happened to be there and picked up the phone, she was extremely sweet and made arrangements with me so I could actually pick up my order before Monday since they would be closed Sunday. This is the only place you can taste everything and anything and buy to your heart's content. I've tried so many different oils and vinegars here....I can't even describe them all. But the ones we keep coming back for are the garlic infused oil and the honey serrano vinegar. For the first time, reduced it down and the taste was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. I could eat that on everything! This is a really cool store. The staff is really knowledgeable. It's like the Dean n DeLuca of oil and vinegar (even better than the garlic oil I bought there in CA). This place has a great variety of infused olive oils and vinegar's, as well as a very helpful staff that can make recommendations on pairings and uses for any products they sell. What sets this place apart, beyond the friendly service and great store space, is the fact that you can sample any of the products (at no charge) you might like to purchase. We moved to the Tampa area not long ago and were in dire need of high quality olive oil for cooking and making dressings. I looked this place up on the internet and off I went - in search of greatness. I certainly found it. Joe and son's is a family owned business and that has been around for more than 50 years (I think closer to 75 years actually). It is run by the great grandchildren of Joe, so there's a lot of pride in operating this business. The olive oil selection far exceeded my expectations. Even within the olive oil selection, whether it virgin or extra virgin, Joe and son's has varying "mild" to "strong" types of olive oils within these categories. The day I first visited they had 7 or 8 olive oils ranging from mild to prominent extra virgin oil. Beyond that, they also have infused olive oils as well. I'm a fan of the chipotle olive oil so far. I've also tried the Oregano and the Rosemary olive oils - very good as well. The balsamic vinegar selection is something to write home about as well. Much like the olive oils, the balsamic selection is quite impressive. I'm a huge fan of the 18 years-aged balsamic, but what I really went nuts for was the dark chocolate infused balsamic. It's great with dessert....or really anything you'd like. Like I said before, the staff is extremely helpful in advising what oil or vinegar would pair best with certain foods and drinks. They also took the time to explain who they get their products from. They have a comprehensive knowledge of the art and science that goes into making olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which I can appreciate. Love... love ...love ...coming here! What's the big deal about olive oil you ask? This stuff is liquid gold. It's freshly made and you can taste it! Makes my bottled store bought olive oil taste like plain old... Well, crap! They have over 400 different combinations!!! (Well that's what the lady at the store said.)I recently bought the chile infused olive oil with peach balsamic. Weird combo? I think not! Mix those bad boys up and toss in salad, sauté chicken or use the peach balsamic alone for fruit and even cocktails. Yum! Not to mention the shopping experience here. I really enjoy just coming in and trying the different products as well as I get my creative juices on what I can do with it. You can taste the quality and paying the minimal cost for good stuff is worth every penny! Don't buy store bought vinegars or balsamic. For almost the same price you can have unique flavor choices, great quality and get a fresh spin when hosting those dinner parties. People were saying how great my simple salad was. Asked what was in it. Only to be told it's just 18year old balsamic with a imported fresh olive oil. Made my lettuce super fancy! ;) when something this simple makes me a gourmet cook... OMG, I am so glad that my husband and I got lost going to a Friday night high school football game and came across this place...although it was closed then, I made a note to go back soon. Being new to the area, I like to go on jaunts and find new, and interesting places...I ventured back on a weekday morning...I have to admit that the parking here is atrocious, but the fact that there is a spot only for Joe and Sons customer was terrific! The garlic infused olive oil is delicious and made my boyfriend (who's garlic obsessed, like me) very happy. You can try anything before you buy, with little pieces of bread or on its own. I never realized what a difference 'quality' olive oil made in my cooking until I purchased olive oil from here. Not only do they have high end olive oils and vinegars, but the different flavors of both really help make the most mundane food taste gourmet. A simple dish of frozen fish and stir fry veggies can be transformed with the combinations of these olive oils and vinegars. The educated staff also helps to show you how to compliment these and offer recipie suggestions as well. A good friend, Jason Fernandez, recommended this place to me - and this is a guy who knows all things good food - so I finally dropped in last week for the first time. Was really impressed with the selection and Andrea's knowledge of the process and flavors. Am disappointed that I hadn't been in earlier since she had great recommendations for pairings and different ways to use the varies I liked that I really could have used for a recent dinner party. They also offer much more than olive oil. It's in a convenient location (and lucky for me close to my home!), and parking wasn't a problem at the time I was there.
