I came here for my birthday dinner, and I was absolutely impressed! The staff was professional, pleasant, and on point. Everyone we dealt with was wonderful! The food was amazing. I only got pictures of 1/2 the food. Pasta was perfectly al dente, the eggplant fritters were perfectly fried and not greasy, the meatballs were top notch, and the espresso is one of the bests in the entire Tampa Bay Area. I know this spot has been around for a long time, but that was my first visit. It was such a good visit with tasty food and friendly staff that I will be back again and again!

I guess it's not a good idea to get chocolate mousse cake to go? LoL

We were a bit disappointed. This was a set menu for Valentine's Day so the food overall should have been better. We b0th had spinach artichoke dip and tomato bisque. My wife had the blackened Mahi for an entree and I had the chimchurri steak. The artichoke dip was good. But the tomato bisque was terrible. We weren't the only ones to complain about how salty it was. No replacement or alternative was provided to replace either. The blackened Mahi was seasoned well, bit the rice was really mushy.., like it had been sitting or been cooked with too much water. My steak didn't have a cooking temperature option and when it came out it was actually lukewarm/cold. The mashed potatoes on the side were hot and seasoned well as were the veggies that came on the side. We ended up boxing most of it up to go. For dessert, they offered a chocolate mousse cake, a sponge cake with berry compote, and cannollis. Wife got the mousse cake to go and I got the sponge cake. When we got home, the mousse cake looked like it just dried up and was a blob of chocolate? My sponge cake was ok, but not anything to necessarily rave about. Overall, service was decent and our server tried to address everything. At the end of the day, the meal was definitely not worth the $85 per person. I would have been better off buying and cooking it all myself. We wanted to try it out though since it did look interesting, but our experience was definitely not stellar.

If you are in the mood for a home-cooked meal made with live, but are not in the mood to cook said meal, I would suggest eating at Trattoria Pasquale. Trattoria Pasquale offers the classic Italian dishes we all grew up with, like Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagna and Fettuccine Bolognese, along with creative Italian options, like their Padellino Kampill, which boasts penne pasta, sautéed chicken, sautéed mushrooms & prosciutto tossed in a savory brandy sauce finished with truffle oil. Our party was pleasantly surprised with the flavors and the generous portions. If you ordered this food as takeout, re-plated it, and told me you spent all of Sunday preparing this Italian comfort food feast... I would be none the wiser. One thing worth noting: they tack on a mandatory 3.26% fee, regardless of party size, to offset credit card processing fees. If you want to avoid this additional charge, bring cash.

First time to Trattoria Pasquale did not disappoint! Our server was super friendly and helpful, and everything we ate was delicious. They were also kind enough to bring over a complimentary prosecco pour and dessert for our birthday girl! I tried the meatballs appetizer, the tiramisu, and the padellino kampill. I thought the meatballs were good, the tiramisu was fantastic, and the kampill was great! I'm not a huge pasta gal, but I thought it was cooked perfectly. My only critique was that I prefer chicken cooked differently - it seems like it was just bland, steamed chicken in the sauce, but I understand that the chicken isn't supposed to be the focus of the dish. Overall, really awesome experience and would definitely recommend!

Came here for happy hour and it was amazing. By far one of the few places that actually has a decent selection of food and drink items that are half off its original prices. The server was great and we had a short conversation with the manager on future catering events. The seating is spaced out enough to provide some privacy, but the happy hour is only available from the bar. Food: most of the happy hour food was very photo friendly and tasty to boot. Highly recommend the charcuterie board, it had a nice diverse plate of meats, cheese, and sours. Drinks: drink em all, not too weak and not strong. Great vibes with friends after work or a date.

This is the frozen cake they serve for $12/ slice. You can purchase the whole in a grocery store for $15.

Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We came because we wanted to try a new restaurant and it had good reviews. The food was presented well but tasted average. The disappointment was when ordering my favorite dessert; lemoncello cake. I recognized it immediately because we purchased a whole one of these in a local grocery store. $12 for a slice of frozen cake is unacceptable in a restaurant that claims fresh food. It certainly makes you wonder if the meals were made in house.

Date night was awesome at Trattoria Pasquale! I made reservation for Friday evening and was immediately seated once I checked in. Our server was so nice, attentive to my allergies and was able to customize an entree for me that wasn't on the menu. We asked about popular dishes and drinks and she was so nice in sharing. Our calamari was salty and our server was quick in having it re cooked along with the manager coming over and apologizing. Our entrees were very good, seasoned and flavorful. Authentic Italian for sure!

Made a reservation here for a party of 7 on a Friday night and it was absolutely fantastic! I'm not someone who usually LOVES Italian food, but this place exceeded my expectations! I split the Padellino Kampill, Gnocchi, and a pitcher of sangria. The waiter recommended the gnocchi and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly creamy, and lighter than most dishes. The padellino kampill was packed with sausage and tons of flavor. The sangria was good however it was more juice like than what I wanted. If I had to pick one dish to order again, it would definitely be the gnocchi. My favorite touch to the entire experience was the chalk board sign they placed on the table with our party's name on it. If you're looking for a local Italian place to support post hurricane flooding, Id highly recommends! Their rebuild inside looks wonderful :)

Been coming to this place ever since they opened. Not sure what happened but yesterday we sent food back for the first time. Twice. The calamari was burnt. We sent it back. Came back burnt again. We were told that we were not used to their batter. It was burnt. Tasted burnt. Looked burnt. Bar staff was super nice and friendly, but clearly did not know what to say. Never heard from manager or anyone. We understand they overhauled their staff. It was our go-to night spot. Will try it again, but probably not for a long while. Maybe they will change their oil by then - next year.

Came here on a Friday night and I would say the ambiance is pretty casual and the food was good and liked our server. The two pasta dishes that we ordered were good but nothing special about them. I did enjoy the tiramisu for dessert though. What I ordered: - Bruschetta alla Nado - Calamari Fritti - Caesar Salad - Farfalle Luigi - Nonna Tina Lasagna

We went for the "Big Night". First of all they are still recovering from the hurricane, the downstairs is closed for renovations. The menu was from a specific part of Italy. It was a 7 course dinner. The chef and owner Luigi was friendly and table touched every table. Every server and the bartender were wonderful. It was a big event, and we are planning on going back for the regular menu. The Big Night is a great date night event. The ambiance, customer service were top notch. The gentleman that explained the wine choices, was animated and truly enjoyed his job. Can't wait to go back. It's a drive for us, but it's worth the drive.

Right off the bat, I want to go back and give it another shot... it's in a great location, it's got a lot of space and potential... Lots of parking (thank goodness they don't offer or require valet!), the ambiance and decor is appealing, the host, Anthony, was super nice, friendly... in fact I thought he came with one of our group's friends, but no, he was just friendly and talkative. Service overall was very good. However, for this price point, the food should have been spectacular, a little more inclusive (as in, provide a veggie or side) and the hot foods should have been hot. The table ordered an antipasti, it had meats, cheese, green things that appeared like olives but were they? I only ate a few pieces of things, the cheese and meat were very good. Nothing else appealing about it. I ordered a Caesar salad. It was very good and a decent size. But $10 as a pre-meal/side salad? For an entree, I ordered the special, it was spinach and ricotta filled ravioli and covered (I should say smothered) in wagyu meat sauce. Served luke warm. It was good..not fabulous at $28 for about 8 thin pieces. (actually I'm not sure how many, I couldn't see it under the sauce). It was not hot. The ravioli/pasta were not home-made and the taste of the pasta was bland. Interestingly, as heated up leftovers, the meat sauce tasted better than it did fresh out of the kitchen, it still took over the flavor of the spinach/ricotta filling and the pasta still tasted bland. I also wanted a vegetable so I ordered the broccolini, did not come with the meal. It was not hot either, but at least the taste was there. I didn't taste the meatballs, I heard they were decent.. but they were not raved about. Also, someone ordered the panna cotta and passed it around.. It was pretty good, had like a cranberry compote or something on top. Not sure if that was seasonal but I liked it... I might even order it next time. The upstairs bar on a Saturday evening was dead. I expected to see more people up there... we dined downstairs and by the time we were leaving, the small bar there looked to be livening up. I want to give this place another shot, but I'm just not sure...

Yet again, another great experience. We ordered the calamari and mussels to start and I did like the meatballs because they were very cheesy. I will say the muscles had more of a red sauce than white wine, garlic sauce, so that was different but if you prefer that, then they were very good For my entrée I got the for Luigi pasta and it is absolutely amazing. It is a white sauce which is not normally what I go with but it's a lighter white sauce and it has spicy sausage broccolini and it just taste amazing

(though still comically high) Rocca continues to be solid, if not spectacular. Two things I think hold it back; first, value. The prices feel too high relative to the portion/tastiness. A great comparison restaurant to Rocca would be Rezdora in Manhattan. I would put Rezdora a few rungs above Rocca in quality/flavor (it's one of the top 100 restaurants in NYC per the NY Times and has a Michelin star, very different than landing one in Tampa) yet the prices at Rocca are effectively the same (each have a traditional ragu at $28). You also don't have to look as far as Manhattan. Just across the bay is Elliott Aster who I think delivers more delicious food, in heartier portions, at a better price point. Given Rocca is perpetually fully-booked, Tampa is obviously okay with their prices, so I suppose 'don't hate the player' (you can't begrudge anyone from charging what they can in this restaurant environment), but for me the value isn't there. Second - I think the inside could use some work. Looking at Eliott Aster, Predalina, or Ponte you can see an example of more elevated interior design. I think Rocca comes off more kitschy than 'homey'.

I made a reservation on Open Table for 2 p.m. My husband and I live in the South Shore area and one of our sons lives in St. Petersburg. For each of us, it's a 45 minute to an hour drive to get to Casa Santo Stefano. My husband (the Dad whom we were celebrating) and I arrived @ 1:45. We get to the door with about 10 other patrons and the door is LOCKED. After a couple of minutes, the door opens and we're told the restaurant is closed due to an "emergency" but that the restaurant may open later that night and anyone with a reservation was notified. I checked my phone and received an email from Open Table stating " the restaurant canceled your reservation" at 1:10 p.m. Everyone was already on the road and we don't check emails while driving. Why not post a sign on the door instead of having patrons stand outside in 100° heat wondering what happened? We didn't see emergency personal, a fire truck or ambulance, so thankfully it wasn't anything catastrophic. Knowing the Columbia and Casa Santo Stefano are owned by the same family, we walked to the Columbia, they graciously honored our reservation. We had a great meal even though it wasn't the Italian Sunday pasta we were anticipating. Someone told me Casa posted that they were open at 4 p.m. on Monday. Good thing we didn't wait around on Sunday. Casa Santo Stefano, how about doing right by your disappointed patrons? How about comping a meal for Dad or least a complimentary glass of wine, coffee and dessert so I can change this 1 star review to a 5 star!

It was very busy but that didn't affect our service or our food, we started with some wings and a couple drinks, I am a fan of Hugo spritz, and this one was very good! My husband does not drink, so we are always looking for fun mocktails! He tried the Kiwi-osity, I also tried a sip and it was delicious! We also ordered some calamari, it was pretty average, but okay! Now, their truffle fries are out of this world, very well balanced! But the star of the day was my wedge salad, the mix between all the ingredients is just a match made in heaven! The shrimp that I choose to add was also very well seasoned and tasty! I am sure coming back to try something from their dinner menu. Paige was our waitress, she was wonderful and so sweet! I have to come back during the week to admire a little more the atmosphere, I always take a peak of their bar, and it looked very beautiful! I have to come back and sit there! Their patio is also beautiful!

She gave great recommendations and gave us all the time we needed. And on top of it with the water top offs. The restaurant was decorated great. A gorgeous pizza oven in the corner really makes the place come together. The food was delicious, I mean so so so good. All the pastas and sauces are made in house. The gnocchi I got was probably the best I've ever had. Fresh warm bread was brought out with a just amazing oil and spices. Right now they have a special going on for HALF OFF FOOD every Monday and Wednesday in June and July!!!! Such a great deal!!! The owner even gave us a free slice of lemonchello cake after our meal which was so kind, that was also so good and moist. Couldn't recommend this place more!!! Great for a date night or evening with friends/family.

This place is tucked into a quaint spot on the outskirts of Hyde Park and I somehow have never noticed it! Starting off, the staff is so friendly and restaurant is very cozy + old Italian vibes. The complimentary bread and oil dip was fantastic. The oil was one of the best I've EVER had a restaurant - so. much. flavor. A ton of great options to choose from, but we decided pasta was the move. The Pappardelle Bolognese was delicious! Loved the flavor + meat ratio, as well as the thick pasta noodles! The lasagna was piping hot and also one of the best we've ever had at a restaurant. We finished with cannolis for dessert. There is a hint of lemon in the filling, and I personally am not a fan of citrus in desserts, but they were still good. My partner really enjoyed them. I cannot recommend this place enough if you love traditional + classic family style Italian!!
