Their collection/ variety of olive oils is astounding. Almost any flavor you could think of or want- garlic, orange, italian, lemon, rosemary, BACON, and way more. Along with the olive oils, they have a just an impressive and extensive selection of balsamic vinegars which can be enjoyed even if you don't like traditional balsamic because of all the flavors they have. Raspberry, fig, peach, pomegranate, vanilla, coconut, dark chocolate, the list goes on. The best part: you can taste test anything you want while in the store. Zoe helped us out and brought bread pieces to try and gave us great ideas for combinations of olive oil & balsamic types that are popular or pair well. She said there are over 7,000 combinations you could come up with- which is so real because of all the varieties they have. If you enjoy cooking with unique flavors or trying to expand your palate, this is a great stop for inspiration. And for being gourmet, the prices weren't too bad either. And if you get a full size bottle of anything you can bring it back to be refilled for cheaper!

She gave me multiple samples to test repeatedly so I could make my decision. She offered palate cleansing- water, fruit and lemon infused oil. She spoke in detail about the owners and their farm. I also met, not sure of his name or position, but he is Tunisian. He also was very knowledgeable and visits the olive tree farm in Tunisia. He explained their farming practices as well as the climate of that area and why it matters. Thanks for a great experience! Not what I anticipated. Lots of fun!

The private event began with sparkling Prosecco and quickly evolved into a delightful culinary experience. We crafted a decadent tiramisu infused with limoncello and learned the art of handmade pasta from scratch. While the kitchen staff prepared our meal, we savored an array of exquisite appetizers and indulged in generous wine pairings. The evening was enhanced by the owner's live guitar performance of traditional Italian melodies, creating an authentic atmosphere. We gained fascinating insights into their olive oil production and learned about their unique olive and grape harvesting tours. This charming Sarasota establishment truly captures the essence of Italian culture and hospitality. The staff, particularly store manager Amy, were exceptional hosts. We were so impressed that we're already planning to attend another class and are inspired to book a future trip to Italy through their organization. Mazzone Olive Oil has undoubtedly become our new favorite local culinary destination.

What a lovely surprise! It's kind of hidden on Bay Street. It's behind the Restoration Hardware Gallery. You'll see the outdoor patio area on the left as you're exiting the food court. In fact, that appears to be the main entrance (or it was that day). There's another entrance next to the Shake Shack as well. The interior is very reminiscent of bistros in various parts of Europe. It's somewhat dark & moody with warm wood furnishings. The wine/coffee bar is the focal point. The seating is comfortable & diverse. There are also large tables set up for groups of people. It's definitely a great meeting place after a day of shopping. It's also great for couples on a date. I was the first one there that afternoon, and had my pick of tables. They have such a great wine list. I already knew what I wanted thanks to the great descriptions on the menu. The white wine flight is a pick of any 3 from the menu. I had a generous pour of a few French Sauvignon Blanc wines and a Blanc de Franc. It was my first time trying the latter white Cabernet Sauvignon. What a treat! I loved all 3, but my absolute favorite was the one from Domaine Doudeau-Léger. The service here was wonderful. Nina gave me some great suggestions when I asked about the toasts. I ended up choosing the Wild Truffled Mushroom one. It was delicious! The mushrooms were the star of the show. The subtle hint of truffle really brought out the natural flavors. I totally recommend this one. If you're a mushroom lover, there's a mushroom & pea soup that was also recommended. I couldn't leave without dessert. I think my only disappointment was that they didn't have the croissants ready. The Crème Brûlée one is popular as well as the Basque Burned Cheesecake. It would have taken an additional 30 minutes. I ended up getting the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. It turned out to be a good decision because the croissant would have been too filling for me. This cake was perfectly light and paired very well with the cappuccino. They serve Kimbo Italian espresso for all you coffee lovers out there. Even the small detail of having a delicious Italian biscotti cookie bite in the spoon was the perfect ending for me. I'm looking forward to more visits. Hopefully, I'll get to try that croissant dessert that everyone raves about. They serve brunch on the weekends. That's what I want to try the next time I'm at International Plaza.
