I had not been to a circus in many years. My wife and I took our kids to a Mexican circus touring…read moreCA. This circus is local and based in the area so we decided to support the local business and come out. All the traditional things; snow cones, hot dogs, cotton candy, lots of stinky animal smells, and flashing light up toys! The acts are all pretty good. I'm amused by the animal trainers who are far more animated and projecting amazement and large physical movements while the animals are taking everything in stride. Just another day at the office. At intermission there are elephant rides inside the main ring! Everyone one working here is polite, the support crew is really focused and I'm surprised how clean it is under the tent. Spring for the VIP or the reserved tickets. The seating and views are definitely better. Buy tickets online to save $5 per person even in the better tickets. Outside is a few food stands and gift shop. Great place for a fun date or take the whole family!

Less for more. We had a good time at yesterday's performance but $111. admission, $23. for a few snacks was just a little much for the crappy 2ed part consisting of a whistling clown and a little girl running around, a solo trapeze act, "The laser man" (sucked), slinky man sucked, the motorcycle act (all ways awesome). The price of elephant doubled from $10. PP to $20.PP. They probably won't be around much longer!

TL;DR: I will spit this review in to three parts. The first is a general review of everything…read morerelated to MSSU. The second is a review of my Computer Information Science bachelor's degree. The third is a review of my Mathematics bachelor's degree. General: I attended this school for 3.5 years and and come out of it with many thoughts: * The tuition price tag is very reasonable as I compare it to other universities. * The communication with students is very... questionable. There were times that I had to figure out that the campus was closed through the school's social media profiles. * Having a student population that is 40% commuter makes them very friendly to those that drive to school each day. Even though this is counter to my previous point. * The workout facility on campus is nice. You pay for this in your tuition every semester. Better use it. * General education courses are a hit or miss. * They have been building new things around campus ever since my first day. This is interesting to watch and eventually explore. Though, I was not able to use most of the newer things regularly. This was almost no longer going to be true if I graduated a semester late, but alas. Computer Information Science: Do not take this curriculum if you have other options... Having many classes in this department every semester made me experience the full breadth of what it had to offer. I will say there were some good times, but these are clouded by the other times that were not so good. As an example, this particular department did their own course reviews that were separate from the university ones. Throughout the semester and the whole duration I was there, I'd hear many stories about how students thought of a professor. Assuming these thoughts were conveyed on to these course reviews... nothing ever changed. Having a particular professor for three different courses, I believe, to this day, that they never changed their behavior. I would highly recommend not coming to MSSU for their CIS department. I will stop the ranting here. Mathematics: Now this department, is what gives this review that extra little star that you see. This department did a whole lot of things right and had few mistakes and/or issues. I learned more about the world and my every day life through this department than the sum of the rest of my education (see what I did there?). Not only were the courses fascinating, but the professors were also great. All of these professors demonstrated that they cared about the student more than just the entity that was sitting in their classroom. I was able to develop great relationships with most of the professors in the department and a lot of them knowing me by name. I know that everyone has their own opinion about math, but if you're someone that has even an inkling, then I would highly recommend their curriculum.

I will agree with both Jon and Rachelle's take on the school. The school is ok. I do not like how…read moreit's not a true college in the sense that it has more non-trads ("old-farts") than any school should be allowed to have. Which, as a result, I would have to conclude that is probably the biggest reason why you don't see much going on outside of school. Yet, it's still the cheapest school in MO and it is a great way to learn about other countries if you meet up with the international students. Rachelle commented on the parties which I have say that there really aren't any exciting ones. If you want to go to a real party that is close, travel up to Pitt State in Pittsburg, KS. Sure as Rachelle said you'll be surprised by what the Greeks can pull off, but in general these Greek groups at MSSU are a complete JOKE compared to the ones on other campuses. If you go to this school, I urge you to keep away from these Greek groups. It won't be what you expected. Again Rachelle is right about the RAs if you decide to live in the dorms, but then again I would assume that the RAs know that we are all grown-ups here paying our way through college. They seem to look the other way until someone causes a disturbance. This what I like. I don't need a RA drill-sergeant breathing down my neck all the time. Our sports are a dud, but when you come to school to get an education...you really care about sports? If you live in the area or are from out of state...then I would suggest that you look further into this school. If anything...we are only like 10 mins from a casino (Oklahoma 18+) and a strip club (Kansas 18+), so there is something to do on the weekends. The college experience, right?

Let me tell you something about Fortune Totems... that game grabbed me by the soul and didn't let…read morego. I came in with $5,000, hopes, dreams, and a questionable relationship with money. I left with nothing but vibes, a free Sprite, and a new smoking habit. Every spin felt like destiny. I was one totem away from greatness--every. single. time. And yet? The totems said "nah." But did I walk away? Of course not. I chased that win like it owed me rent and emotional closure. I lost all $5,000 in about... two hours. Somewhere between the fourth bonus round fake-out and me fist-bumping a slot machine, someone outside handed me a cigarette. I'd never smoked in my life. I lit it with a shaky hand, took one drag... and felt peace. Chaos, but peace. I haven't stopped since. Now I'm broke, slightly wheezy, and spiritually bonded to a totem named "Big Luck." But the lights were glowing, the music was thumping, and I was clapping like I just saw Beyoncé in Vegas. I even cried. The staff handed me napkins and didn't say a word. Just a gentle nod. Respect. Would I do it again? Yes. I already booked a room for next weekend. 5 stars. I left my dignity at the blackjack table and found myself outside, puffin' like a noir movie character. Never felt more alive.
