Not having a lizard share the bed with me at 12:45 at night would be good start on where to improve. I checked my hotel room over twice before retrieving my things and didn't see anything. I'm not quite sure where the gnats came from but we killed five in the room yesterday evening/night. Pillows were awesome and bed was comfortable until the lizard decided to join. Bathroom and room was clean and smells pretty good when we walked inside. Not much to do aside from going to casino or swimming in the pool. Let me tell you something about Fortune Totems... that game grabbed me by the soul and didn't let go. I came in with $5,000, hopes, dreams, and a questionable relationship with money. I left with nothing but vibes, a free Sprite, and a new smoking habit. Every spin felt like destiny. I was one totem away from greatness--every. single. time. And yet? The totems said "nah." I went here as a pit stop to see how my luck was. I went around the casino. They have a drink station, gift store and bbq joint. They do have more machines in the back which is hidden. The hotel and casino are separate and the close up parking is in a circle which can be confusing and a massive spaces for trucks in the back. The casino is medium size and the selection of machines is very good. If you are a fan of buffalo, they have a buffalo zone all dedicated to buffalo and they had games I have not played. Unfortunately, I was only in a time crunch and I know myself that I can play for hours. I signed up for their card as I tend to collect casino cards and I got $25 dollar free play which is not too bad as there are some casinos that offer $10 to $15 dollar. I used that $25 dollars to play a bingo slot machine $1 dollar denom and ended up being a $33 dollar winner which is in the high limit section. I played a couple of other machines and there it went downhill. I played the big VGT machine with the wheel and all five of them with $5 dollar bets and did not get a red screen of $300.00. Anyways I know it is gambling. I then played Lightning Link, but did not get a bonus and lost around $250.00. Overall, I lost fast here after my $33.00 of money. I know it is gambling, but I wish my money lasted longer here. Now of course, I did not have time to play more machines and maybe I will come back here for a break, however, there is the high winds casino which I will probably try if I have time to try. My initial experience with Brenda during my reservation call was very nice.. 3 nights in a king suite. However, upon arrival on Sunday at 2:26PM I was advised of a strict "early check-in" policy of an additional $20 to check-in prior to 3:00 PM.. I did let the hotel manager know this was mentioned during my reservation call. The hotel manager was not accommodating what so ever.. I even asked if there was a room ready, trying to understand the issue for a 30 minute early window.. the room was ready! I was not going to pay $20 extra for a room this was already, ready! The manager had a lot of growing to do.. and I mind you the parking lot was basically empty.. so here I sit in the lobby waiting my 30 minutes to check-in.. This review is for the Coal Creek cafe inside the casino. We had breakfast here recommended by the hotel clerk. The five star rating is for the chicken fried steak breakfast. It was the best tasting I've ever had. Thick, juicy, and tender. They use a panko breading that makes it pop. My wife had the southwest omelette which she said was real good. My son had the all you can eat pancakes for 5 dollar deal. Everyone left happy and full (especially me!). To top it all off, the waiter, David, was very good and the wait time was very short. This is the place to try whether you just want breakfast or if you need a break from the slot machines! Last time we stayed here it was definitely not great. But my mother inlaw booked the rooms on short notice and it's close to where we was going. This time I never went to the casino because of how bad it was last time. Now the hotel has caught up to them. It's plain nasty. Shower is dirty and the room stunk. Room was full of dust on the lamps and no soap in the dispenser. Wouldn't have been a problem but I had to ask for house keeping twice to remedy this. When they finally did they ONLY refilled the soap dispenser. House keeping also locked me out of the bathroom by accident, when I asked them to unlock it they sent me back up with a paper clip to open it myself! Total lack of customer service!! read more

DO NOT GO! They discriminate against the handicapped! We travel with our special needs adult child. They refused to honor our reservations because of her small service dog. We are not talking pet here, trained Service Dog! Federal law mandates that Service Dog are allowed on all public places. Because they were 30 mins from closing., No hot links, no home wrecker, no coke slaw, no brisket .... The list went on and on. When my order came they gave me some chocolate cake instead of the carrot cake I ordered (they were out). They didn't have portion cups for bbq sauce. I just sat in the hotel waiting for an interview for about 20 minutes. From the second I landed foot in the resort, the lady at the front desk was rude. However, I brushed it off. Excited for my interview, I waited patiently. So, about 15 minutes after waiting, the lady rudely exclaimed to me that I could not work there because I have "holes in my face." No where in the job description did it say that you were not allowed to have piercings. I even asked if I could wear a mask to cover them up, and the lady said "no, there's no point of you being here." Just a pre-warning for anyone that wants to work here and has piercings so you don't have to go through the same experience as I did. Great hotel and staff.Casino bar had a lady serving watered down drinks an a nasty attitude when asked to pour less coke. When I asked her to please pour less coke she immediately threw the 1st drink in the trash and poured another exactly the same and told me it's a beverage! Let's start by saying I go to a casino maybe once every couple of months. On a long trip yesterday from St.Louis I stopped by a smaller casino I had never visited to rest after 5 hours stress driving in snow back to Texas. The staff is all around amazing, facilities are gorgeous. Several people stand out. Ashley floor server was attentive not annoying. Larry the floor attendant was funny and made my day great. The payouts were far higher than any other place I'd ever been too...smart makes you want to play longer. Last but not least security was topnotch...oh and Allison who was booking reservations because I 6 hours to go set up my accommodations right away with discount. We stumbled across this casino while driving along, rounding a curve and wow! It looks like a pretty big place. We went inside, signed up for a player's card, received some free play, then spent a delightful afternoon pulling handles and pushing buttons for money. It wasn't smoky, which is a plus for us. Buffalo Run's slots did not give as many red spins as it did before. There were only a handful of people there for a Friday afternoon. Buisness doesn't seem to be good as it was a year ago. My husband and I stopped here for a mandatory shutdown on New Year's Eve. We had a wonderful dinner inside the casino, we were checked on by the casino manager, she was warm and friendly. Our bartender Joe was lovely making sure our drinks stayed full and checking to see if we needed anything. We stopped in at the Buffalo Run trucker lounge this morning. It is by far the nicest lounge we have been to. The lounge is a quaint old farm house that has been completely renovated inside. Large kitchen, laundry, and shower areas. Wasn't sure I would like it when I first got there. But ended up having a great time. The house band was great. My friend said the food was just ok. That was the walk up and order diner. I visit casinos regularly and I won more money on slots than I have anywhere and saw people getting paid out and jackpots all over. Most of these reviews are old. I will say quite a few machines did me dirty but once I found a good machine which was about 6 different ones that i saw people winning on all night. My advice would be give it another try and if a machine doesn't give you money in the first 6 or less spins. Switch machines. if someone is making money on one and gets up. We stayed at the hotel and were pleased with the appearance and the lack of smoke smell! Usually a casino hotel is kind of smelly and janky. This was freshly renovated and had a nice big walk-in shower and lovely counter in bath. Bed was pretty comfortable. The staff was friendly as we checked in. They have just started a discount off breakfast at the casino instead of hot breakfast at hotel. Cinnamon rolls and coffee/juice still available at hotel. We went to the casino to check out restaurant and were taken with the funky old school music and decor. Very pleasant wait staff and good food! Their claim to fame is "in the black and paying back." We bought into the hype and spent about an hour at Buffalo Run, trying several different machines. Didn't notice their slots were any looser than any other casino. The facility was nice (the outside kind of looks like a Bass Pro Shop). A couple things this place has going for it is: 1. a self serve soda machine which is free and 2. The casino is pretty clean (compared to other casinos in the area). We drove from Tulsa to check things out and found upon arriving a couple leaving advising us not to eat here when we walk in the door to stop empty my wallet on the floor. We had a good laugh about it until we learned the hard way that the gentleman was correct about not only the food (very nasty) but between my wife and I we dropped 600.00 in less than 2 hours. Well some hardheads never learns. We went back about a month later along with our son, daughter in law And 2 other couples. Between all of us we dropped approx. $2,500. Our son and friends at at the Choke & Puke. And had great service but the food was cold, the salad had brown edged lettuce. The food appeared to be some kind of microwaved TV dinners. Strange as it may seem we went to Osage casino in Skiatook the next weekend. The food was not gourmet but wasn't bad. My son hit 3 jackpots for A total of $9,500. And I hit a small $1,900 jackpot. Of the 6 people who went to Osage 4 of us came home with more than we went in with. I can't find anyone in my neck of the woods who have anything positive to say about Buffalo. read more

The casino is nice and the hotel is acceptable, though housekeeping is less than detail-oriented. They brought in new towels, but failed to make the bed and restock the toilet paper, for example. The Coleman House is what really drags down the rating, though. The service was excellent, but the food was very disappointing. My wife and I had the 16 ounce bone in ribeye steaks, medium rare. First, almost every steak at the table (there were 5 of us) came out medium well. We sent them back and received replacements cooked properly. Our steaks weren't awful, but they lacked texture (no "crust") and were very, very under seasoned. This is what you expect from a steak at the Waffle House, not from a restaurant that charges $29 a pop for the ribeye. Very amateurish performance from the kitchen.
