Working with Delroy was great. I was able to get a quote over the phone immediately for my water heater replacement, and it was significantly more affordable than other competitors. He was able to replace the water heater the next morning. When he realized there wasn't an electric current going to the heater, he coordinated with an electrician he already knows and he was able to come out the same day to fix the circuit breaker, which saved me the time and effort to find someone. Overall, a great experience working with Delroy. Since I'm out of state, rather than in-person, Delroy asked me to pay 50% via Zelle after he evaluated the work, but before he started and 50% afterward. I was able to get in touch with Delroy and Joe Black's Plumbing through Yelp, and he immediately answered my query with a quote for the problem I was facing based on the picture I posted. I had 3 toilets in varying stages of needing maintenance. Delroy responded quickly and as I explained my needs, he assured me that he would be able to address them all. This company is a scam. We agreed a week before on the installation. On the same day of the installation they told me that they can't come unless I pay 50% of the job upfront with Zelle. I live in a differently state so I can't get them and pay cash. They wouldn't accept credit card or PayPal. What kind of a business is that?? That's exactly what scammers do. Don't deal with them. Update: I had someone else installing the water heater on the same day that those guys cancelled on me. He completed the installation and THEN I paid him in full. Particularly because I'm out of state, I cannot pay with Zelle upfront. I did that in the past and got scammed. Nevertheless, Delroy confirmed with me the appointment the day before, and then on the day when he was supposed to come, he demanded the 50% upfront with Zelle only. That's a horrible way to treat customers. Always be careful when vendors you don't know demand a payment upfront and only accept Zelle. That's very suspicious. read more

Via Yelp I got several quotes and a couple of "an estimate will be quoted on site." I originally contacted a company with 28 comments, all five star rating. The plumber came to my house and quoted me a price of $500.00. I told the guy that he was too. He would only reduce his price by $50.00. As I did call him, I had I pay a service service fee of $65.00. I then called Joe. He came to my house that afternoon and charged me a very fair price (equipment plus labor.) Joe was extremely professional and through. He even clean up his own mess, plus the sink and the area around it. As Joe has just started using Yelp, he does not have a lot of reviews; but i am sure, in time, he will have more.
