His employee, whose name i swear I remember but this review would say otherwise, was the nicest gentleman anyone could hope to have taking your order. Between the two of them we were treated well and comped a bottled water for our travels and an extra slice of pizza when my daughter's appetite exceeded the food she was provided. I can't say the food is any more or less than the expected neighborhood pizza joint expectations, but the variety, vegetarian options (limited as they are) and COFFEE which I badly needed, all combined with being the only business owner in this small town with the sense to realize people eat in winter makes this The place to visit. Pie isn't bad either, albeit a bit pricey. :) Service 5 stars Food 3.5 stars

I also think the way the restaurant handled the situation was appropriate because they offered us free pizza as compensation for the cold pizza and that is why I am rounding this up and giving a higher review. I also personally found the tables and the restaurant reasonably clean. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice because it was a diner style and it made the restaurant feel very peaceful. I also found the price of the pizza was fair and it was reasonable. I personally believe the staff will take this review as an opportunity to improve the areas that were stated in this review.

My issue with the place is service. The waitress that seated us was very nice, wish we had her. The one we got was short with us the whole time. Took drink order but turned around so quickly without giving us a chance to order food/ask questions about food. I don't understand why servers do that. It's not considerate. Did you consider asking us if we're ready to order or need a few minutes? Also, she gave us a dirty plate with old pizza still stuck to the middle of it. How can you give that to me? Asked her for a new plate and didn't even mention the problem with the plate and she came back with "Why do you need an extra plate?" As if we couldn't have an extra plate if we just wanted an extra one. We "need" an extra plate because you failed to provide us with a clean one. She apologized and gave us a new one. The drink did come out quickly and she did check on us twice, once to ask how the pizza was and near the end if we wanted anything else. Then she asked if we're sure. What kind of question is that? Then gave us the bill without us asking for it, it wasn't even near closing yet. If she needed to close off, she could tell us that. And the kicker was she never came back to take payment. Flagged down another waitress who let us know it's pay at cash, we told her that our waitress never told us that. She said they usually do and it says it on the bottom of the receipt. Well yes, amongst several other things on the bottom. Just because it's written there doesn't mean we are expected to notice that. Circle it then or make it a point to let us know. If we let you know we're unhappy about that, I think the restaurant should own up to it rather than defend. I'm usually not very picky with service but it really irked me. Probably won't come again. I'd recommend this place for takeout pizza.

It was a sports bar setting. I ordered a rare 10oz New York. It was cooked perfectly and tender. My wife ordered a Montreal Smoked meat sandwich. It came nicely toasted on Rye and had a ton of meat.
