They truly make the best poutine because it's all about the gravy and curds packed into a round aluminum foil takeout dish. Very friendly staff, nice food. I ordered a poutine italian style and loved it. Much more refreshing and less fatty than a gravy one, but still fill you up. Well, it was a large one, and I mean it - Large! What could be improved - the chairs are too hard and plastic - Mcdonald's style. Would be nice if it is more cozy and welcoming. read more

While we visited Gananoque, we craved pizza and so the closest place to our hotel was Milano's . The establishment could benefit from a makeover, it was crowded, hot and outdated. The few tables were all dirty and it was full of flies. The pizza was okay and it was reasonably priced. Our order of two large pizza was ready in about 15 minutes I won't say more because I went outside of the restaurant because it was quite hot. Went there today when visiting Gananoque. Heard so many good things from others so thought it would be a great choice Went in and asked if there were seats to sit indoors where I got a cold shoulder response. Then was waved back in, let the man know that I was here to pick up an order. He asked me the name I gave it to him. He said no no there's no order for that name what's the number. I gave him the number. He rudely said now is that my number or your number where I stated it was my number. he said well what's my number. I responded I don't know my husband called in. He looked at me and said well you better go find out because you didn't order here. then got a call back at 5 asking when I was going to pick up my pizza!?? extremely rude from the start and I was extremely disappointed! This place caused a stir in Gananoque when it opened some years ago. Before they came to being, there were two long-established places in Gan to get a pizza. One of the places closed down at 11:00pm, so if you were looking for a quick bite after work or a night in one of the Gananoque bars, your choices were limited. Enter Milano's. The place still stands today despite a break-up in partnership and even a mysterious bombing incident, and it still serves out some of the best food in Gananoque. It's reasonable. It's simple. It'll come to your door. Pizzas and subs they sell with aplomb, but the two menu items that stand out are the bacon-double cheeseburger (real bacon, real hamburgers made there) and the poutine. Know this that the poutine is not authentic in that it is made with shredded mozzarella and not cheese curd. I know. That's not how you make real poutine, but suck it up. There is so much cheese and gravy that have melted, combined and penetrated the fries, you'll be able to stick a fork in it and hold it like an umbrella. Eat it like slices of Tortierre pie. They have really gone downhill in the last year. Never used to have issue with them. Last time the chicken wings were undercooked, so if you want it properly cooked, ask for extra well done. This time they took 1 hr 25 mins to get an order 10 mins out of town, that I paid a hefty surcharge for! When I called to ask where it was they said "what do you want, we're busy. Come pick-up yourself" and "so? send it back if it's cold". Terrible customer service, hung up on us twice - did they get new management/staff or something? If you don't want to deliver out of town, then just say no. But if you are going to offer it, do it right. No one likes cold fries and pizza! If I wanted to drive in I would get Greko's instead - 1000x better pizza! You know, a simple apology and offer to check with the driver, plus to not be spoken to as though I was an idiot, is not so much to ask. Blaming covid and the delivery company is old hat and just tacky. read more

My brothers girlfriend got spaghetti w meat sauce and I got spaghetti w meatballs. Both sauces were unanimously similar to chef boyardi sauce. Wouldnt be surprised if was straight from the can. The garlic bread was made on a flattened sub bun. My brother got their "wood oven pizza" and threw it out on the first slice. We also didnt eat the spaghetti. This was a terrible experience and were never going back. I am not writing this in spite, but in hopes that somone doesnt make the same mistake we did. In all fairness their salad was 3.5/5 (avg). Dropped by for a lunch bite. Fish and chips are mediocre. Too much batter for my liking, though the fish fillet itself was good and juicy (not dry like some other places) Cheeseburger is an awesome deal @ $3.75 and it's full size, not a mini of any kind. Found it late, had been coming to this area for a while. The service is what I love the most, and you get some really good quality food you would pay twice as much for in Toronto. Try the pizzas and burgers and fries. Did not go with high expectations and left feeling like I should have paid more. Not a place with waiters but they often are nice enough to bring out the food if you dine inside, which is kind of them. They have earned my loyalty :) read more

Absolutely the worst pizza I've ever tried to eat! Had unexpected company and our fav spot " Grekos" was closed figured we'd try Milanos as they have new owners. Pizzas were half cooked and they must use cinnamon in their sauce. Totally destroyed the taste of anything on the pizzas..uneatable! read more

When we first moved to the area 10 years ago we did the usual sampling of all the local pizza's. After eating a Milano's pizza we were all left wondering how there were any other pizza places still open in Gananoque. In my opinion their pizza is the signature dish. If you have leftovers the next day (always buy enough so you do), you don't put this pizza into the microwave, you pre-heat the oven and put the slices in on a cookie sheet; trust me it's worth the wait. All of the food is excellent and over the last 10 years we've sampled quite a bit of it. They have a great staff and you can tell that they love what they do. You might be able to get a cheaper pizza in Gananoque but you wont get a better one than Milano's. read more
