It's important to know that my father was a dentist for over 35 years, having graduated from the *1*st dental school in the United States, the University of Maryland. Since moving to LA, it has been impossible for me to find a dentist who lives up to the impossibly high expectations I have for my next dentist and their office culture. I was referred to Dr. Joe from a family member whom I trust, and whose smile was all the proof I needed to book an appointment. From the moment he spoke, I trusted him and felt calm and in the hands of an experienced professional. He explained the reparative work and temporaries thoroughly. I also want to acknowledge Maria's leadership and professionalism. The arrangements with my insurance were always handled calmly and kindly. There was an issue with a payment to an alternate provider that we had to sort out. And we did. It is the true sign of a committed employee when they make the inevitable insurance mix-ups an opportunity to show patients how dedicated they are to their care and oral health. They always got me into the schedule right away when needed. A+ All in all, the drive to Montebello from LA might seem crazy to some, but for me, and someone who has seen a spectrum of dentists in the last twenty-some years, Dr. Joe is the real deal and worth every moment of the drive. I'm finally at peace knowing I am in the best hands of an artist whose work with his lab is second to none. And he guarantees his work. Thank you, Dr. Joe & Maria & the entire team, for welcoming me to your family.

I don't usually write reviews for dental offices, but my experience here was so exceptionally…read morepositive that I had to share. This review is specifically for Dr. Patrick, who recently replaced a dental crown of mine that broke after four years. Dr. Patrick is a true artist. His precision, attention to detail, and bedside manner are entirely unmatched, even during the clinic's busiest hours. Throughout the entire procedure, he kept me fully informed and painstakingly ensured I wasn't experiencing a single moment of pain or discomfort. Because I grind my teeth, my natural teeth are a bit on the smaller side, which meant it took some extra time and meticulous effort to resize and reshape the new crown to align perfectly with my jaw. I tend to avoid confrontation, and I think Dr. Patrick picked up on that. He looked me straight in the eye and encouraged me to speak up if anything felt even a tiny bit off, insisting that it had to be absolutely perfect to protect my bite and jaw alignment long-term. I really appreciated that extra push. Truthfully, I might have held my tongue and settled for "good enough" otherwise. (In hindsight, that's probably what happened with my former dentist in Irvine who did my original crown.) The difference in quality between this crown and my first one is night and day. I found out later that my old crown was actually too big, causing an asymmetrical bite. This time, I have absolute confidence that Dr. Patrick got it perfect right from the start. To top it all off, Dr. Patrick personally followed up a few days after my appointment to ensure everything was still feeling great. If you want a dentist who genuinely cares about both the artistry of his work and the comfort of his patients, look no further.

When I review a restaurant, it boils down to one question: "Is the food made with love?" For…read moredentistry, the question becomes: "Are my teeth made with love?" I can vehemently vouch for Dr. Erica, Dr. Patrick, and their incredible staff at Bello. (Btw, this review is long overdue.) Not only is their work exceptional, but they possess the impressive ability to transform the terrifying, dreadful experience of dental work into a completely pain-free, almost pleasant routine. Here, your teeth are absolutely made with and handled with love. My journey here began after I cracked my dental crown on a Trader Joe's Ridge Cut kettle chip (aka the hardest chip known to man), leaving me in desperate need of an emergency replacement. As a recent casualty of the tech layoffs in LA, I am currently navigating life without dental insurance. Crowns are notoriously expensive. When I discovered that my previous insured dentist was now wildly outside my price range, I started shopping around the LA area for a quality, affordable alternative. The more offices I called, the more a quick trip across the border to Tijuana for cheap dental work--as a friend suggested--started looking like a sane, viable option. Luckily, I was saved from figuring out those logistics when I stumbled upon Bello Dental in Montebello. Not only did they offer manageable pricing for out-of-pocket patients, but their stellar reviews across both Yelp and Google backed it up. From the start, booking was a breeze; the receptionist was kind, knowledgeable, and highly accommodating. The actual visit went just as smoothly, despite the fact that I arrived as a bumbling bundle of nerves. In fact, I was so anxious that I accidentally bit my poor dental hygienist's finger during the initial exam. I was mortified, but she was an absolute sweetheart about it, calmly explaining every step of the process and even reassuring me that the X-rays exposed me to no more radiation than stepping out into the sun. When it was time for the procedure, Dr. Erica injected the numbing agent and gently removed the remaining pieces of my cracked crown. She took a mold for the lab, and then crafted a temporary resin crown to protect the tooth in the meantime. Throughout the entire process, she was calm, patient, and thoroughly professional, constantly checking in to ensure I wasn't in any pain. She was incredibly meticulous about aligning the height of the temporary crown perfectly with my bite. You can tell she is a woman of precision who takes immense pride in her craft and her patients' comfort. I would honestly trust this team with my life--and I will certainly be trusting them with my teeth from now on.

Five stars for Dr. Wahba. She's great with fearful patients like me. I am 67 and have successfully…read moreavoided the dentist in 40 plus years. But now it was time to address a cracked molar that I'd been living with for a while...and....an old old old filling from my childhood days that fell out. Dr. Wahba understood my fear and was gentle, reassuring, and attentive to whenever I needed a break...she also talked me through her steps and knowing what she was about to do before she did it, helped alleviate and ease my extreme anxiety. I'm someone who loves extreme sports ...heli-skiing, sky diving, ziplining, kayaking whitewater ...but I'm scared of dental procedures... the sound of drills, the smells, the debris in my throat...i have an extreme sensitivity to the administration of anesthesia....dental trauma remembered from childhood and teen years...being told to stop uncontrollable shaking when I couldn't. I alerted the staff to my seemingly irrational fear. Dr. Wahba and her staff were so kind and compassionate. Dr. Wahba is a meticulous...careful...conservative doctor who doesn't like to damaged good teeth if she doesn't have to and most importantly she knew why the administration of the anesthesia hurt me so much...she pushed the anesthesia so slowly, it didn't hurt. Turns out it's not the needle, it's the way the anesthesia enters that was so painful. Other docs rushed it, she didn't. Bless her. Dr. Wahba listened to my feedback. And worked with me to make the dental procedures less traumatizing. Bears repeating -- five stars for Dr. Wahba and her very capable assistant Julie/Julia (im hard of hearing in my right ear, so sorry if i didnt get her name right) but she was lovely and helped to keep me comfortable...Julie/Julia made sure the debris in my throat got sucked out with this vacuum tube so I wasn't gagging...and she helped me whenever my earbuds fell out. ....I was listening to love songs really loud to drown out the sound of the drill. I even brought a small fan to blow away the smells from my nose...I appreciated that they didn't laugh at me, at least not to my face. This is not to say things went totally smooth. I'd never gotten a crown before and both the temporary and the crown itself for my molar was ill-fitting the first time. I needed to make a better mold, so the doctor assessed the reason why and wanted to make it right. She had me remake the mold again at a third visit and this time with her guidance. The doctor had to help me to cleanly bite down on the playdough-like mold-making goo to make a better mold for the permanent crown. It was disappointing and alarming when the temporary crown for that molar fell out within three hours of leaving the dental chair, despite the assistants best efforts to make the temporary fit. I know they tried hard to fit the temporary, but i made a bad mold so they truly did their best...happily that tooth never was painful despite the huge crack in it, so I was able to tolerate the time it took to manufacture a new porcelain crown....and luckily I didn't swallow or choke on it. I appreciate that the doc put a stat (hurry up) on it so the second crown for that molar came within a week, instead of the initial two weeks wait. The office gets a bad rap in other reviews but I found everyone very helpful. Jessica helped me increase my carecredit catd so I could pay for the work being done on a payment plan at no interest for 24 months. Insurance is more like a discount and covers little of the repairs, so Jessica helped to make it easier to pay for dental work which requires full payment at the time of service. You will experience sticker shock at the cost, but that's modern life in 2026. You might feel some upsell of procedures, but for me after 40 plus years of avoidance, I know I need a deep cleaning and whatever preventative procedures is required to keep my teeth and gums healthy. I was able to obtain timely appointments ...but know that this office is only open from Monday to Wednesday. I did find it alarming that the dentist was left calling for help at one point during one of the procedures....because all of the assistants went on mandatory breaks at the same time...seems like a reexamination of scheduling might be required, or perhaps this was an unusual day...but I don't think the dentist should be left stranded without help . I'm still getting used to the crowns, one fits like a glove the other still seems problematic as it's changing how I chew, and forcing me to chew slowly but perhaps that's a good thing, at least it doesn't hurt. And the wait to see the doctor can be long, in my case in the first consultationvisit over two hours. Thank goodness i was able to push back other appointments on my cell phone...dental work was my priority. One thing is certain-- Dr. Wahba was very very very good with this fearful patient.

I would not recommend this dental office based on my experience…read more My first appointment was scheduled for June 18 at 11:00 AM. I received appointment reminders on June 11 and June 15, so I assumed everything was confirmed. When I arrived at 10:50 AM for my appointment, the receptionist immediately told me there was no doctor in the office that day. When I asked why I had been scheduled and reminded about the appointment if there was no doctor available, she couldn't explain it and simply said there is never a doctor there on Wednesdays. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled. My next appointment was on July 9 at 11:00 AM. Again, I arrived early at 10:50 AM. I wasn't called back until 11:38 AM. The X-rays alone took about 30 minutes, and by the time I was placed in an exam room, it had been over an hour since my scheduled appointment time. I then waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. After waiting that long, I went looking for someone to help me and found the receptionist sitting in an open closet watching a show on her phone. I asked if I could either be rescheduled or if the doctor could see me because I had already been there for an hour and a half. The doctor happened to overhear and told me to be patient, saying she would see me shortly. When the doctor finally came in about 10 minutes later, I explained that I didn't have time for a cleaning and just needed a quick exam. She looked in my mouth for less than a minute and then told me I had gum disease and a long list of issues that would cost approximately $3,000 to treat. There was little to no explanation provided. Instead, I later received a treatment plan by email listing everything that was supposedly wrong. What concerned me most was hearing a dental assistant ask the doctor whether she wanted to add something else to the treatment plan, and the doctor's response was simply, "Sure." There was no explanation or discussion about why it was needed, despite it adding to the cost. Because I was alarmed by the diagnosis, I scheduled a deep cleaning for August 3. On the day of the appointment, the office called me at noon to cancel my 3:00 PM appointment. At that point, after multiple scheduling issues, I decided to find a new dentist. I requested my dental records and was told they would be sent. They never were. I followed up by email on August 10 and again on August 16 and received no response to either message. Since then, I have gone to a different dentist who performed a thorough examination and did not diagnose me with any of the conditions that this office claimed I had. Between the scheduling mistakes, excessive wait times, poor communication, canceled appointments, lack of follow-through on records requests, and questionable treatment recommendations, this was one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I've had. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for dental care.

Dr. Acevedo recommended she get an upper arch replacement, for which she charges $35,000. My housekeeper took out a $23,000 loan two days later to pay for the procedure scheduled six weeks out. The cash from the loan went immediately into the doctor's bank account, My housekeeper then decided to get the procedure done with a different doctor. She tried to cancel, the procedure three weeks in advance but the office would not allow her to cancel without forfeiting all the cash that they had already received. She had to go back in person to the office multiple times in beg to get a refund. Ultimately, they did no dental work. One of the two crediting agencies, lending club, was able to get them to refund most of the money. Cherry lending, however, is not able to help in these cases. It was a terrible ordeal. Eventually they gave back most of $23,000 except they kept $2000 and kept changing why they were keeping the $2000 calling it a diagnostic fee or a cancellation fee. They did no dental work on her at all. They didn't even have molds made or anything. They only took x-rays, which she paid for. And they kept her money! This is outrageous. No one should ever go here. Be careful. They are not trustworthy. They just take advantage of vulnerable people to steal their money. They are now under review by the California dental board. The crediting agencies are also on notice of their unethical business practices.
