Went for my first visit yesterday. The dentist, Dr. Dom and the hygenist, Prudence were both very professional. Dr. Dom explained to me why parts of my teeth have more stains and tartar than others and gave me tips on how to manage them better. Prudence was very gentle and thorough with the cleaning, explaining each step along the way, and making sure I'm comfortable. Dental health is important for all of us, it's an investment in yourself, so go for that deep cleaning, for that root canal or any other care you need, and you'll thank yourself in the future that you got it done instead of waiting. They told me everything was accepted with my insurance before I get the procedure , they charge me a lot of money for two crowns . I have the receipts To prove it . months later they said my insurance denied my services I called delta dental and they said there were no way they could've accepted it because my coverage was terminated months before . So now they tried to charge me for everything . And now I have to pay a lawyer to fight this bill. Please don't go there the procedure is bad done, Julie the "dentist" don't know what she is doing, I'm still very sensitive and I have to pay another dentist to fix what she badly did to my tooth. Please, please save yourself from future headache, find another dentist. Or go to Tijuana at least for what they charge you can afford more than one dentist if something goes wrong. DON'T GO HERE . This one star review is from my experience with Dr. Dominick Maldonado. I went in as a first time patient. The dental technicians took my x-rays and were friendly, professional, and polite. The wait time between getting x-rays and seeing Dr. Maldonado was almost 40 minutes. When he finally came in, he started off by saying I needed a deep cleaning and showed me my X-rays and how that compared to an example on the wall of healthy gums. I told him that I would prefer to get a regular cleaning due to limited financial resources. He pushed for the deep cleaning a second time to which I asked for insurance and pricing so I could make an informed decision. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He then proceeded to tell me how patients argue with him about getting deep cleanings, ignore their health and advice of the dentist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I politely responded by saying that people don't always have the resources to afford deep cleanings and I asked again for pricing so I could decide as I don't know what my dental insurance will cover. He pushed a third time for a deep cleaning and mentioned I would have to sign a waiver that I'm ignoring my dentist's advice in order to get a regular cleaning. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He proceeded to say that people with gum disease will decline a deep cleaning from their dentist, yet they will come into the dentist office with Louis Vuitton purses.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's important to note that all the while, I had a small Michael Kors purse on my lap. The purse strap was covering the MK logo. When he made that purse comment, I looked down at my purse and asked him straight out if his comment was directed at me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told him that the purse was a Mothers Day gift from my husband who got it for $100 at a Michael Kors outlet. He started back tracking his comments after that, but I told him that I did not appreciate his demeanor or his comments and asked for different dentist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He then left to get an assistant to help with insurance pricing on cleanings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She came in and could tell I was upset as I was holding back tears. She tried making excuses for him by saying that he's focused on dental health care and doesn't consider financial resources. My father came here 4+ times for bridges. This is after it breaking twice and then they wanted to try again. They refused to offer a refund for the bad work. The lady incharge of billing got defensive when I question her about recommendations for how the bridge was done. She kept referring to the bill and not even dentist Claudia Camacho wanted to take responsibility for the bad service. My dad has Parkinson and couldn't understand why his teeth kept breaking. It was only until I stepped in did things get figured out. My dad is out 4k and the insurance paid another 6k for this. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this dental office due to their billing and practices and complete lack of follow through. They overcharged me $2114 above what I should have been billed. I had to file a grievance with my dental insurance just to get this addressed. My insurance ultimately ruled in my favor and confirmed that the office owes me a refund. They had 15 calendar business days to pay me back but that was over a month ago, and I still have not been reimbursed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everytime I called to follow up, I was told that the billing person was busy and no one would return my call on the update.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was zero sense of urgency to correct their mistake. This place it's OK I had a growth on my upper lip. The doctor suggested I had it removed. He charged me $400. I said OK remove it ...two weeks later the growth returns I come back and he referred me to a place that he googled and gives me a number to call and schedule an An appointment ..first of all this doctor was not prepared to deal with this case. This is an update to my previous post which I gave 5 stars. I have downgraded the same dental work to one star. Back in June 2023, I thought I would try this new dental office in my community for a routine cleaning. During the exam it was discovered that I had a hairline fracture on the side of my molar. They recommended a crown, with their new crown machine that makes crowns on the spot, I agreed to get it done while I was there. The dentist prepped my tooth and made my crown right there, but as soon as he put it in I knew something was off. It wasn't what I was use to, the material of the crown was not quality. (They offer higher quality crowns but they cost more money that my insurance didn't cover). After he completed the job the crown was so short in the back and did not fit right. He made another one same result. He "adjusted" it so I waited a few days, but days later there was pain with uneven biting. I returned not once but twice to be readjusted totaling 3 times with 3 different dentists. The following months I have not been able to eat on that crown due to the pain and sensitivity to hot and cold now. Fast forward 6 months my crown falls off and I noticed that my molar was shaved down close to the gum on one side. It should be at least 1/4 of the tooth so they can glue the crown on. That is why the crown machine kept making it so short on one side. This dentist ruined my tooth, now I have to fix my tooth again and just hope it doesn't lead to an implant. I am so upset with this shoddy dental work. I want my money back so I can get it redone professionally, not to mention the time, money and pain I have to endure.
