Beware! SCAM!!! Corrupt, terrible, unethical, irresponsible dental practice. Stay away. My housekeeper went for a free consultation with Dr. Acevedo as advertised on Facebook. Dr. Acevedo recommended she get an upper arch replacement, for which she charges $35,000. My housekeeper took out a $23,000 loan two days later to pay for the procedure scheduled six weeks out. The cash from the loan went immediately into the doctor's bank account, My housekeeper then decided to get the procedure done with a different doctor. She tried to cancel, the procedure three weeks in advance but the office would not allow her to cancel without forfeiting all the cash that they had already received. She had to go back in person to the office multiple times in beg to get a refund. Ultimately, they did no dental work. One of the two crediting agencies, lending club, was able to get them to refund most of the money. Cherry lending, however, is not able to help in these cases. It was a terrible ordeal. Eventually they gave back most of $23,000 except they kept $2000 and kept changing why they were keeping the $2000 calling it a diagnostic fee or a cancellation fee. They did no dental work on her at all. They didn't even have molds made or anything. They only took x-rays, which she paid for. And they kept her money! This is outrageous. No one should ever go here. Be careful. They are not trustworthy. They just take advantage of vulnerable people to steal their money. They are now under review by the California dental board. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS CLINIC... Be very careful with this clinic, in the office they explain the treatment differently and when you sign the contract you are surprised to find that they send other figures to the insurance company and another type of treatment, just to get the patient and even knowing that it is not what the insurance company accepts in terms of quantity or work for the patient, in addition to not explaining in detail each thing in the contract. Mrs. Jackie (who by the way has already been fired for what she did to several patients, this about her being fired I found out from Mrs. Rosy and Dr. Perez), explained and sold me a treatment which she did not comply with and now I could not finish it and that I also ended up paying a lot of money. Mrs. Rosy told me that it was my fault for having made a deal with the other person (strange because Jackie was an authorized person who worked there and she was also the one who entered the office). The only thing I can ask of people who go to these types of places where they rip off patients, and especially to this clinic, is that they be very careful with what they explain to them and what they sign. (In the end, it was also my mistake for letting them steal me in this way and signing thinking that the people who work there were honest). I called and called, I left messages and messages hoping to receive a call from someone in the corporate offices to explain and help me with this problem, but I never received even an apology from anyone. If you go alone, be careful, and if you bring older relatives, go with them, don't let them do to you the same thing that happened to me. With sadness and still with tears in my eyes, I can assure you that what seemed to be a nice dream of fixing my smile, turned into a nightmare. Sadly, this place has gone downhill ever since they changed their personnel. I used to come here years ago when they actually had good dentists like Dr. Olvera. Recently, I decided to come again for a checkup and I noticed they changed 95% of their personnel. Let me tell you, the new staff they have sucks and is extremely rude!!! The dentist checks my teeth but barely told me what I had wrong and didn't even go into detail about what I needed. She leaves and one of the frond desk receptionist ladies instantly comes in with a printed paper and gives me the total price it was going to be to fix 2 teeth and get a cleaning. I told her if I can at least see the paper and get an explanation of what I exactly need. She refuses and says she can't say any information until I accept to get the treatment and accept to pay the price first. What kind of shit is that??!! I'm not going to pay something until I get an explanation and a breakdown of what I am being charged. After that frustrating interaction, I step out to make a phone call and due to my dissatisfaction with the staff's unhelpful behavior, I decide to go back in and try to speak to the dentist directly instead. Get told I have to pay over $3600 for a simple procedure I got done for $1200 elsewhere. This is probably one of the worst dental offices I've ever been to. There has been numerous things about this office that just makes me dislike it. Even though I could have changed dental offices, I kept trying to give them a chance however, it all started on the first day that I visited the dental office and the staff was so hungry for a good review, but how can you give any place a good review on your first visit? They stated if I gave a good review I would get a five dollar Starbucks and I gave them a good review and yet I never got the Starbucks card. I came in and I think she's the main head of the dental office, she immediately wanted to change all of my silver fillings to white because they didn't look very nice. I never mind someone's approach or opinion however, she just seemed so eager/pushy for me to get everything filled and pay when I didn't want to do that.. The second huge issue was a replacement of a back crown that this would be the fourth or fifth time that I'm coming back to replace it. It's very inconvenient for this amount of time to be coming back because I have to take time off of work. The last thing that really pushed me to write this review to warn other customers is the fact that they gave me a 2 PM appointment yet their stuff is out to lunch until allegedly 2:30. Why would you give someone an appointment when your staff is still out to lunch? I went in for a scan for the invisalign treatment that began a year ago. The after the scan they gave me an appoint meant to go back in a month. I got there and the dental assistant forgot to send my scan so O had to wait another month to receive my kit. Today I was just 10 minutes late for another appointment so the receptionist said they could not see my any more which I understand. She gave an appointment for next month and I ask if she had anything sooner because I was down to my last pair go invisaling and she tells that I had to call 3 weeks ago to make nada appointment when they supposedly always booked. I made an appointment for Thursday on a Monday. I specifically asked the Dental Assistant (Office Person?) to PLEASE verify my insurance as this was my first time visiting the dentist and I've had issues in the past with insurance coverage. She assured me that "the person who does that" will take care of it. We confirmed my appointment on Wednesday, the day before and I again asked "Did you confirm my insurance?" She said she would check, and then called me back and said to finish verification they needed my member number and my birthday. I provided both and I was assured that if there were any problems with coverage I would be contacted. It's Thursday. I get to the office, fill out their multitude of paperwork, even one of those cute forms that Medical Professionals like having you sign nowadays that says if you don't cancel your appointment with at least 48 hours notice, they charge you a fee. Pretty ironic since Doctors and Dentists leave you in the waiting room for hours without consequence. I wait for 40 minutes after my allotted appointment time and the Dental Assistant comes out and says "Yeah, sorry, you're part of a different group so you need to go to this specific dentist first and anything done here today would be out of pocket." You want to take a wild guess what no one did? They didn't verify my insurance. I took a day off from work. I took a Lyft just to be sure I wouldn't be unable to drive if they gave me a shot or gas or whatever to fix my broken tooth. I went in today at 5pm waited to speak to the Dr. In regards to paperwork I had to pick up . The paperwork I had to pick up was my medical records that by law I am entitled to get but they have withheld that from me for months now. I have a paperwork stating they will be happy to send me paperwork by mail and never did . She literally had me deal with Matthew and decided to get involved when no one asked her to. When I tried to speak to Matthew she sent him away she literally told him to leave right when I was speaking to him . She didn't deal with me at all and when she tried to she gave an ugly unprofessional attitude. She has always had this unprofessional attitude and energy like she loves it . The care quality I received from this dental office was nothing like I expected they treated me very poorly especially JACQULINE !!!!!! She had nerve to ask me to take a seat when I said I'll stand and wait for the Dr. She kept telling me to take a seat . I've already been sitting for sometime and I wanted to stand and wait for the Dr. . I hope they talk to this unprofessional person because her attitude is just disgusting. HORRIBLE! Stay away! I'm currently having to pay to get all their mistakes fixed. They push you to sign right away so they can hook you. They only want to get new customers then they don't care. I knew right away that my filling wasn't right I felt it weird. They supposedly fixed it but I kept telling them it's still not right and just said "we fixed it it's just you. Give it a couple days you will get used to it" it fell off already ‍ and to top it off the second time I went to try to get it fixed I was on the chair all ready and the dentist didn't want to see me anymore because she wanted to go to a new patient that came in as an "emergency" I heard everything the person was there for bad tooth each and they wanted to do a root canal that meant $$$$ so she tried to reschedule me. Twice when I first made the appointment with Gloria and a third time when I confirmed my appointment. The day of my appointment they tell me they do not except my insurance and want me to pay $75 for an exam and $700 for a cleaning. Totally ridiculous! This is going to be a long post, but the overall summary is this - This place does good work but it is incredibly expensive, they have horrible customer service, and are intentionally misleading. Don't do what I did. Always get a second opinion and leave if you do not feel comfortable. I do not recommend this place. I had my wisdom teeth removed here and I had an orthodontic treatment here. My first appointment here the dentist was condescending and judgmental. I had not been to the dentist in a long time because at the time I didn't have access to it nor did I have the money to pay for it. I knew going in I would need some work and I was fully prepared to pay for it. What I was not expecting is the amount of judgment I received for not attending before. That should've been my first red flag. There was no tact or consideration for people who may not have the same access as others. I stayed because I had heard from a family member that they do good work. As I continued attending the appointments the front staff office became more and more rude and would blame me for mistakes they made. Not once, but twice I was scheduled for an appointment where I confirmed through text only to show up and have them tell me that I had missed my appointment or that I didn't actually have an appointment scheduled for that day. When I showed them the text, they said that the text messages system didn't go through them and to confirm an appointment I was supposed to call. The staff treats you like you should just know how things work and get annoyed when you ask them questions. There was also an incident where they FORGOT THAT I WAS THERE. I went in to get x-rays and they told me that the machine was taken and I had to wait. So I did, I was in the chair for almost an hour and no one bothered to check in on me. I went outside and told them I needed to leave. The staff was shocked because they had no idea I was still in the back waiting. They were apologetic and offered me a free whitening treatment. It would've been one thing if maybe they were under staffed and it had happened once. But it wasn't once, this happened to my mom here TWO times. They didn't offer her anything. They told me after my initial treatment that I needed orthodontic treatment. I knew that going in and I had a consultation about costs and options. The Invisalign treatment was around $7000. That is on the higher end of the scale. I wish I would've shopped around and gotten a second opinion, because the Invisalign did not work for me. I should have gotten traditional braces. All the work I had done here I paid out of pocket and it was incredibly expensive. I had family members get work done at other places where they were unhappy with the results and I wanted to make sure I went somewhere where they would do good work, I thought you get what pay for. But even so, I do think that even for the work it was very expensive. Now comes the misleading part. They will tell you that you that you need procedures done and then they will send you with someone who can help you look at financing. Make sure that the quote they give includes ALL of the treatment. My mom was burned thinking they had included everything they told her she needed, only to find out some things were separate and would be an additional charge. Make sure you read exactly what is included. Do not sign anything if you are confused. They will try and push you, do not let them. Make sure to keep a copy of everything because you may need to show them proof. My mom had bone implant and had most of her teeth removed for this procedure and was supposed to get dentures. This treatment was about $16k. They told us my mom she was at high risk of developing different illnesses if she did not have this procedure done. My mom had treatment done in Mexico and it was botched so they had to go in and fix it. We went through with it. We are still paying it off 4 years later. My mom was very happy with the results, but not everything they told her she would need was included in that price and I wish we would've gotten a second opinion and that they had not scared my mom into signing. Like me, they made her feel bad for not going. Our treatments were done around the same time. It was expensive and although I'm happy with my results and so is she. The process to get there was horrible and so was the customer service. There are better options out there. read more

It is because of the amazing people at Acevedo Dental Group that I can bear going to the dentist as an adult today :) They are amazing in every way, make me feel comfortable and take the time to provide not just amazing service, but really, really incredible support on a personal level. I find it surprising when you have total opposite end of the spectrum's in terms of stars. It's either you like them or you don't. Unfortunately, for me its a don't. I came here a few years ago after some salesman with nice straight and super white teeth came to our hospital to sell a teeth whitening special to staff members. First of all, I'm surprised our hospital even allow them to come in to sell products. Anyway, I got tricked into buying the $60 package with free check-up and the take home teeth whitening kit. During my first appointment, everything was fine. Dr. Acevedo and the staff were nice and everything went accordingly. Got the mold impression of my teeth so they can make my take home bleaching trays then make another appointment to pick them up when they were ready. Mind you, that I went to this office a few years ago so I don't remember if I got the teeth cleaning during my first visit or the time I went to pick up my kit but I do remember the cleaning was fine like at most other dentist and of course, they billed my insurance for it which was fine as I did authorized. So why the bad review? I was hoping to stay at this place if they were good since its close to work BUT it was a total disappointment. On the day they did the mold, I did get my general check-up and somehow she said I have like 14 cavities (more or less, I cant remember but its in the teens...). I was like, 'say whaat?!' Your kidding me right? With her explanation, some were cavities and some were bad fillings which would become cavities, broken fillings etc. First of all, I admit and not embarrassed to admit that I do get between 0 to at most 2 cavities ever so often. But like 14-ish?! Um, no. That is not the worst of it. Compared to many other dental office I have been to, they are one of the few more expensive ones. Again its been a few years so I don't remember exactly the estimated cost they gave me but i think it was about $700! Even after looking at my insurance it would still have been 1/2 of that out of my own pocket. Which is ridiculous. So if giving out the $60 bleaching deal to make up for it by doing this, that is not the way to do it. Although that is my assumption. Bottom line and note to self: Nothing beats a second or even a third opinion and a peace at mind. So just to share with you, I obviously didn't get the work done and went to 2 other dentist and BOTH said I had 2 cavities (sad about it but it's my usual) and one of them did say I may have a third but to keep an eye on it. To me, that is fine. 14, is NOT. Its been years now and those teeth she said I had cavities are still fine in my mouth. Peculiar, isn't it? They made up some excuse that my snap on dentures wont work for me. They said my jawline would need to be grafted and they recommended permanent dentures which would run me around $40,000. My jaw dropped. Something didn't seem right to me. The dentist didn't seem sincere. She was very distant pretending to not speak english. I had a feeling they were after money. After the exam they whisked me to a finance office. I felt like I was buying a car. Who has a finance office in their Dental clinic? They sure were quick in trying to sell me two loan Arrangements on the same day. The loans were not cheap. I would have to pay $900 a month plus interest for 15 years. I found their business practices unsettling. Later that day I went online and I found, in a search, some dental clinics that were offering Snap-on denture specials that specifically graft the jawline for a little over $8,000. WOWWWW THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! After regretfully doing no research, I made an appointment at Acevedo because it is 5 minutes from where I live. In a consultation after a quick exam, Yessenia told me my total out of pocket would be $546, (mind you, I have PPO insurance) I thought that was high but figured I just had to bite the bullet since I hadn't seen a dentist in a couple years and this was just the price I had to pay. Literally. So I end up going to 3 appointments and paying a total of $479.20 for a deep cleaning and 3 fillings. $479 FOR A DEEP CLEANING AND 3 FILLINGS WITH PPO INSURANCE. But whatever, I do it. The following week my insurance sends me claims for what I should have paid which was LESS THAN HALF of what they charged me! Not even upset at this point, I try to get the claims to Yessenia so they can start working on a refund and I can continue service at their dental practice, because I trust that this was an honest mistake. So I drop by the office and Yessenia isn't in. I ask Carmen, the receptionist, for Yessenia's email so I can forward the claims to her. Carmen, unable to look me in the eyes, starts talking in circles nervously and is not willing to give me her email (I am the least intimidating person ever). This is when I start to notice weird and unprofessional behavior. So I email the claims to Carmen, ask her to forward them to Yessenia, and ask for her to have Yessenia call me. A few days go by and no response. Every time I call the office, Yessenia is out. Finally, a week later Carmen emails me back asking me to book an appointment to come in and go over things with Yessenia. So I do that and when I arrive, guess what? Carmen called out and Yessenia doesn't even know what I'm there for. Once I tell her, she asks me if I have the claims on me... Seriously? She manages to find the claims in Carmen's email, and tells me she'll be with right me. AN HOUR LATER, we go over the claims and she tells me, very condescendingly, that they forgot to add medication and services to the invoice they sent my insurance so I am in fact not eligible for a refund... So you're telling me the claims my insurance sent me are incorrect because you ALL OF A SUDDEN forgot to add services and medication? No no no. Everything provided on the dates of service should have been sent out to the insurance for review the day of. None of this trying to add charges one month later, tf? So I just filled a grievance with my insurance and will hopefully see my refund in a timely manner. After looking them up on here, I read that many other people have experienced this with this office and one girl had to wait 4 months to get her refund. **Do yourself a favor and go to a different practice, I wish I had. This place gave me anxiety! Please run.. They only want your money and they care less about the patient's needs. Very disappointed!

My mom was referred to this office for an emergency extraction by a dentist in Ontario. It is her first time here and everyone has been nothing but helpful, patient and super kind. My mom was very nervous and the kindness she has felt in this office put her at ease. We do not mind the drive after being taken care of by such a nice staff!!! read more
