I wanted a soup and was trying to find somewhere inexpensive and close. I found Joe knows and despite the reviews, I gave them a chance. The delivery was quick and even though they said it would take 55 mins-1 hour it took 20-30! Driving to pick it up of course would be cheaper but you pay for convenience. For delivery there is a min of about $6.50 and they charge $2.48 for delivery. I ordered a large chicken soup and small fries. When checking out there was an option to add a FREE cookie :) My food arrived hot, and everything was tasty. Also the small fries are definitely a big portion, which I'm not complaining haha. Joe Knows Lunch is one of those least expected, off the trail, little gems of a place I would have never come across without a little Yelp from my friends. Located in warehouse or semi-industrial section, you'd never think that it was home to a restaurant, much less that the food would be any good. It's totally unassuming from the outside as well as from the inside. Clean and orderly, but certainly not a place one would go to for décor or dining ambience. However, the super friendly service and deliciously unique food preparations more than make up for any of those short comings. Basically a breakfast and lunch establishment, Joe has not only a wide a varied menu, but an offering of healthy tasty daily and weekly specials. I went for one of his soups of the day, being a white bean and kale with chicken and sausage. It came served hot inside of a huge cup which contained more than an average bowl and was really downright flavorful and delicious. I also went for his special of the week "Chef's Creation" being a turkey, provolone, lettuce, red onion, fresh sliced cucumber, tomato, red pepper almond sauce done in a red tomato wrap. When served it was not only pleasing to the eye, but delicious in taste. Another in the category of "if you didn't know it was here, you'd never find it", Joe's is buried in between warehouse and small office buildings. There is barely a sign out front. But the locals sure know about the place and they keep coming back. Not because there isn't much else around, but because Joe really does know lunch. Wide variety of hot and cold sandwiches with the usual assortment of lunch meats and toppings. This restaurant is located 2 minutes from where I work, so it's close and convenient when I'm on my lunch break. Prices are all reasonable. I eat here at least once or twice a month. The only thing I have ever gotten from here is their Firehouse Chicken Panini and sweet potato fries. (Sweet fries and served with a ranch dipping sauce). It's always phenomenal and always comes out fast. My only gripe is with the service. Joe Knows Lunch does a lot of deliveries and I feel like because of this, they tend to neglect the people who choose to sit and eat in their establishment. Every single time I go here, the waitress never comes back to check to see how the food was. And maybe once or twice have I gotten a refill without having to ask. Half the time, you can't even find the waitress to ask. All the waitresses are friendly, but seem to forget they still have a job to do once the food hits the table. This last time around we even had to go up to the counter to pay because no one ever came back with a check, after we sat there finished for over 10 minutes. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Joe Knows Lunch. Over the 7 years I've worked in the area I've eaten it countless times (never in the restaurant it self) and my company uses them quite a lot to cater for work meetings and the like. The Good: *They have a website through which you can order, which isn't the easiest, but at least it exists and you can avoid calling in. *Free Item - every order includes something free. Chips, cookies etc you pick. *Food - most of the food is pretty tasty. I most recently had the Heather's Secret Sauce Wrap and it was delicious! The Bad: *Delivery Minimum - I get why this exists but it's annoying. A typical sandwich/wrap is $7.99 and when I add on one of the cheapest sides (a pickle) for 99cents I get to $8.98 and guess what the delivery minimum is - yep $8.99. So I'm forced to get a more expensive side when truthfully I don't even want any side at all. A bit infuriating lol. *Free Item - over the years the free item list has gotten shorter and shorter! *Inconsistent - some times I order something and fall in love. When I order it again I'm less than enamored. The Very Bad: *Despite being able to select your delivery time on the website I have had my food come over an hour late TWICE. I ordered a soup and found something blue and rubbery in it, so I posted a few pics to their Facebook along with a few words. A few minutes later I get a phone call from them telling me it was "a piece of a glove from an employee" who, probably got it in there while cutting onions or something" I am then told to hold and get put on the phone with a woman who rudely told me to delete the Facebook post. This place is in walking distance from where I work, and so I should be ashamed for not visiting more often. To me, the lemon chicken soup was the highlight. I would come back for that alone. It was fantastic. I probably could have had another cup. I also had a turkey club sandwich with thousand island dressing on it and that was pretty good, too. I'm looking forward to another visit to try other menu options. My bill did come out to $16 plus tip, which is kind of expensive. Joe Knows Lunch is located very close to where I work, but this is the first time I ventured in. I arrived around 11:45 and found quite a few open table and took a seat. As it got closer to noon and after the place really started to fill up, so if you want to eat in get there early for sure. The menus are located right on the tables and the waitress was quick to get drink orders. Although the menu is mostly salads and sandwiches it is still huge and there are a ton of choices so it took me a little while to decide, but I ended up going with the rancher wrap, a chicken wrap with corn, black beans, cheese, and ranch dressing. You had the option of choosing from a few different wrap types (wheat, spinach, etc.) but I just got a plain flour tortilla. I also ordered a dill pickle on the side. The food came out pretty quickly and I enjoyed the wrap immensely. As I went up to the counter to pay there was a container of homemade cookies that came with the meal to take with you. This particular day was a peanut butter and m&m cookie but they make different ones throughout the week. I was excited that my meal came with dessert. For the price of about $10 I got a very filling wrap with a pickle and dessert, not a bad deal at all. I know many people get take out from Joe Knows Lunch and they often cater corporate lunches and deliver, but I was very impressed with the service I received in the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. read more

I placed an order on line and received a confirmation that my order was processed, Thrity minutes later a receive a call from this rude, snarky girl informing me that I am now out of the delivery zone even though they have delivered to me at my current job 3-4 times and also my previous company a few blocks away several times. When they called to cancel my order I told the girl thats strange that it allowed my order to placed if I am out of "delivery zone" especially when I stated that I had ordered 100 times and not had a problem. The rude girl was quick to say "You have only ordered from us a few times" and I let it go because she is an imbecile and I didn't want to explain I was referring to my old company. This is bad customer service. Second the food, the majority of the food is bland and tasteless, I have ordered at least 4-5 of the different wraps they didn't not have flavor and the chicken was dry. I am giving 2 stars because I do really like the harvest salad, although I was disappointed that they added almonds and got rid of the sunflower seeds. The name says it all and Joe's really knows it! My office orders from here everyday. The, food always comes fresh and on time. They have seating in their restaurant too and whether you're ordering in or eating inside, you always get a free item (I highly suggest their chocolate chip cookies, more like Chocolate megachunk cookies). I usually have the California sub and the Buffalo Chicken Salad...or the Aubergine Classic (which is this delicious grilled eggplant sandwich), or Chicken Caprese Sandwich (omg, my mouth is watering) which are absolutely delicious but I see people order all kinds of stuff from there and noone ever says anything bad about Joe's. Was on a business lunch with a client whose office is near the Joe Knows Lunch and took me there. A low-key delicious hidden spot. I didn't think there was anything but offices in the area, so I'm glad my client was able to find this place. I had the Greek Bowl and he had the Chicken Caprese Sandwich. Mine was outstanding. I wasn't sure what the red pepper almond sauce would taste like, but it was deliciously tangy and creamy and brought the entire dish together. I loved how thinly sliced the eggplant was as well. His sandwich looked delicious with the melted cheese and pesto mayo. We also split an order of steak fries, which were piping hot and crispy. I'm not in the area often, but I will definitely be back here. The atmosphere was casual, and I wished they had one of them closer to where I work so I could be there more regularly. It's difficult to rate this place between a 1 star and 2 star because although the food was pretty bad, the speed of delivery was good. Ordered catering here for a work lunch and mainly everyone was pretty pissed. The food was bad, I ordered the pressed Cuban sub (12') and at least 3' did not have any meat or filling. I called about my delivered breakfast sandwiches, four of them, arriving cold. When I called to let them know the food was cold what I got was lame, ridiculous excuses....it's cold outside and eggs don't stay warm, we don't use heat lamps, we don't use insulated bags, food even gets cold inside the restaurant, we ordered croissants/English muffins would the sandwiches been on bagels and toasted they would have been warm and then I was told they have been in busy for 20 years and then she dismissed me. I think the most concerning issue was the condescending tone in the lady's voice. For the record the delivery service was excellent, here with our order quickly, the food was mediocre, not only were the eggs cold so was the meat, the muffin was crap since it wasn't toasted. I didn't request free food.......I only wanted to let them know I wasn't happy with cold egg sandwiches. We will NEVER order from Joe's again. It's funny, even Pizza Hut, Domino's and many many other delivery meals arrive warm/hot despite the weather....maybe they should invest in insulated bags for the few cold days we have here in Florida. read more

Their subs are decent, however, what turns me off is their lack of customer service over the phone. I've ordered from them four times now, and two of those four times, the employee taking the order has definitely been nasty and rude. I don't think that I will be ordering from them anymore. I order a salad online. I had to add to the salad to meet the required delivery amount. I was actually fine with this. What upset me is the fact once I met the required delivery amount, I was still charged a delivery fee and a service charge on top of my order. With all the charges, I did not include a tip. I was already paying $2.50 just to have my food delivered. Once the delivery guy arrived, he smelled of cigarette smoke and pulled out his phone and demanded me to add a tip on or he would not leave my food. He was very nasty and rude. This is my final review of this place. It's like having a love/hate relationship with a bad boyfriend who has good moments randomly. Just slapped together. I dont mind slapped together food, if you're going to charge me a slapped together price. If youre charging me like its supposed to be decent food that gets decent raves, then I expect decent effort. 2. The food came sideways. The delivery guy brought me the food, in my paper bag, and the container was sideways. SO guess what that looks like? I've been coming to this place a lot over the past 2-3 months, and after an initial visit to both her and Adam's Subs (both local business friendly lunch lunch spots) I loved their chicken salad sandwich. However over the past 6 weeks or so I've noticed a huge decline in this place. They're constantly running out of bread, I've had sandwiches that are nearly empty, they tend to ignore some of the online ordering instructions (ordering tomatoes is optional online so you have to go out of your way to add them, however the last few times I've been they've had tomatoes). If I had to rate my experience over the first 2-3 weeks I started going here about once a week I'd rate it a 4 or a 5, but they've been rather frustrating lately. read more
