I placed a takeout order at Marian's yesterday that included two smoked salmon bagels and two tuna platters with bagel chips. Ordering online was easy, and pickup itself was quick and straightforward. However, when I got home, I realized that both tuna platters were missing the bagel chips--so essentially I paid $17 each for just two scoops of tuna. I called the restaurant and was told they were out of bagel chips. That explanation raised more questions than it answered. If an item is unavailable, why not notify the customer? A quick call, or even mentioning it at pickup, would have gone a long way. I would have happily substituted for a bagel or chosen something else. Instead, I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant. By that point, I was understandably frustrated, and the response at the counter didn't help--the staff seemed indifferent. They did replace the missing items with bagels, which I appreciate, but the overall experience was disappointing. I used to really enjoy Marian's under the previous ownership and was a regular customer. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership, the quality of service seems to have declined. We decided to give it another try, but this experience confirmed that it's just not worth it anymore. Disappointing, because this used to be a go-to spot. read more

I really wanted to give the spot five stars because the food was so good but had to drop to a four because the service was absolutely terrible. Once we were seated outside by the hostess, we waited a significant amount of time before the gentleman busing tables asked us if we have been taken care of. He went inside and got our waitress who came outside and was clearly inconvenienced by our presence. The empty chair next to me had more personality than she did. Two elderly couples who were hard of hearing were seated next to us, and she was also very rude to them for no reason. Luckily, the food was outstanding. I don't know how the service is inside of the restaurant, but if I do go back, I will not sit outside. Sitting outside is normally my preference, but I don't think this is the spot for it. read more

In the mood for a fresh bagel and heard that this place served good food. First impression was no frills just simple bagel type joint which was busy. They had shelving underneath the pay counter with quick grab items that included brownies, peanut butter cookies, double chocolate chunk cookies and blondies with a few bags of thin bagels nearby. Well stocked display of every type of bagel behind the counter with large printed names. The scent of fresh bagels is unique and overwhelming. Ordered the everything bagel and waited only a few minutes. Took my bagel and sat in the outside patio which was very relaxing although close to the parking lot. While attempting to pay the cashier (who was assembling a take out order along with another person) ignored me while I stood waiting for her. I was out west doing a hot yoga class and Costco wasn't open yet so I searched for bagel shops and Marian's popped up. It was a 4 minute drive so I started to head over. I ordered an onion toasted bagel, scooped, with cream cheese - AND OMG! This bagel is SOOOO good! It was chewy with just enough crunch. toasted to perfection! This was once a good restaurant. The cleanliness varies. When tables are cleaned there is food particles etc on the chairs, granules under sugar containers & floors with trash/food on it. This is not when its busy either. They charge for flavored cream cheese even though it states on the menu that cream cheese comes with the bagel and does not specify "plain". It is not about the add'l $ its that the waitstaff doesn't say that there os an add'l charge nor try to make amends when it is not listed on the menu. They demonstrate preference for regulars and will ignore or make others wait to place orders. Food is good. Note that there is now a 3% charge added for credit cards which is more the norm and many restaurants are doing the same. read more

My wife and I have been here twice before, no issues other than an incorrect side of cream cheese. Not sure what happened this morning. Ordered take out at the counter. While the employee was placing the order, I told her, "not toasted," "cream cheese on the side," "I will do everything at home." I waited over 15 mins for my order. Figured it's a busy Saturday morning. Receive my order, go home, open the bag, unwrap the bagels and both of them are toasted and have cream cheese smothered all over them. I have Celiac Disease and cannot eat gluten or I will be extremely ill. This is why I say we will do everything at home. I do not want to risk my gluten free bagel being sliced with the same knife or toasted in the same space as my wife's gluten filled bagel. So I get back in the car, drive back, explain my order is incorrect, and how it should be. All she says is, "oh, my mistake" and brought my bagels back to the kitchen. No apology. Did absolutely nothing for me except give my order as requested, with the exception of still slicing the bagels. Why is it so difficult to give customers what they ask for? All I wanted was for them to throw two bagels in a bag and scoop two sides of cream cheese. That's it. The prices at this place are not worth the headache I dealt with this morning. Honestly I would go maybe 3.5 stars. A friend and I were headed out to lunch and the place we wanted to go was packed, so we opted to head over for a little deli. Like the few delis that are left in south Florida, this one is fairly typical in the style, ambiance, and food. But their food is actually a notch above most other delis. Service was pleasant. Food came out quickly. The only negative thing I can say is that this is one of the places that "passes along credit card fees to the consumer" They note it on the door, but I didn't see it until we were leaving. They may say it on the menu, but I didn't notice it. I had planned on paying in cash, regardless ... but it turned out I was a couple of bucks short and had to charge it. When the total came out 3% higher, I was annoyed. Look, it's not a big deal in the scheme of things. It's just that all these additional fees seemingly everywhere are just annoying. Traditionally, my cousins and their work friends come here after pickleball on Saturdays and it never fails to be busy. Even with the breakfast rush, getting seated doesn't take too long with tables both inside & outside. The service is pretty speedy and the food good. I usually get the lox spread on a toasted asiago bagel, which is a great go-to and fan fav. You have the option to get the lox spread as regular or low-fat. We tried out both so see if it would be less salty but it seemed about the same. This past visit, we also got to try the french toast which you can get either grilled or deep-fried. The deep-fried tasted like a carnival funnel cake. This is a pretty heavy dish so I would recommend sharing! A great lil spot to grab some breakfast with friends in Plantation. read more

Never visited the actual location yet but tried their food through UberEats during my work hours. They had a bunch of options on their menu so it was a little hard to decide! I got a tuna melt on multigrain bread with mozzarella cheese and a side of potato salad. The sandwich was delicious and comforting. The potato salad was also excellent and I wished I had more after. I had a medical procedure in the morning & couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight had only had clear liquids. This wasn't fun. Anyway when I was waiting I was searching for a breakfast place. I found Marian's liked the menu & reviews. After we went there all the employees where working together, the waitresses where hustling place was filled. This is always a good sign. His white fish was huge!!!! Very impressed. My platter came took a few bite's and found the lox to be salty. Belly lox is salty not nova. Advised Linda about the issue, without missing a beat, I just asked for an order of scrabbled eggs as a substitute. Fished my breakfast. Both Bussers where cleaning tables and refilling coffee mugs constantly. At the end I ordered another egg bagel to take home, Linda did not charge me for the bagel took the omelette off the bill. I was in a rush so I decided to order something quick to go, instead of eating in. I did ask the host the wait time for a table and it was around 20 min- so this is a good thing to keep in mind if you plan to arrive at around 11 am. I ordered a simple asiago cheese bagel toasted with garlic green onion spread and it was really good! I think the spread to bagel ratio was perfect. They had an array of spreads and had some prepackaged that you could buy to go. They had so many different varieties but I decided to go home with the lox spread- which was filled with lox. Very popular with locals always have a wait on weekends for fresh bagels and Good service!!!! A new spot opened directly next door and doesn't seem to affect this place at all !!!!! Our food came quickly as usual and everything was hot ,, usual diner vibe with tvs to give you a happy distraction. As soon as you sit someone not the waiter comes to get your beverages so you are not waiting and with this little step it's something more places should adopt, this gives the waiter more time to wrap up another table or just get themselves together,,, everyone is working as a team plus the bagels are awesome read more

I honestly don't understand how this place has a 4.0 rating. The food was awful, and the restaurant was dirty. When I say the floors were filthy, I mean it. They looked like they hadn't been cleaned all day. The booth I sat in had trash and leftover food on it, and there was an overall sense of neglect. I didn't get to take many photos, but the ones I did capture say enough. I understand it was close to closing time, but that's no excuse for a restaurant to be in this condition. I've never been in such an unclean dining space. As for the food, it was absolutely disappointing. The bacon was drier than a desert, my pancakes were mushy on the inside, and the coffee was terrible. Everything tasted like it was made with poor quality produce. The only positive was that the food didn't take crazy long to come out, but that didn't make up for the quality. I much rather wait longer for good quality food than rushed poor quality food. Maybe the bagels are a different story here but since my first experience was so bad, I won't be coming back. As a restaurant, everything you serve should be delicious and made with quality or at LEAST taste good. The service was basic at best. The waiters were being "nice," but it didn't feel genuine. The only person who seemed genuinely kind was the young lady working at the bagels/pastries section. The atmosphere itself wasn't bad. It wasn't too loud or poorly lit but that doesn't matter when the cleanliness and food quality are this bad. For the price, I expected way better. I'm giving two stars instead of one solely because I ate the food out of sheer hunger and not wanting to waste it. Otherwise, this place wouldn't deserve even that.
