But at last week's periodic dental appointment her luck ran out and immediate removal was ordered. However her regular dental office could not give her a Periodontist consultation until almost TWO months.....and after that ( in middle of the holidays) who knows when they'd schedule the actual extraction?? In this case of a really senior citizen I saw a possible matter of Life and death if infection spread to her sinuses or eventual septicemia. Fortunately her clinic gave me phone references of some oral surgery clinics. The first one I called didn't treat patients over 85. BUT we were SO fortunate that the Center for Oral and Facial Surgery offered her an immediate appointment !! Literally I called about 1 pm Friday and they offered mom a spot at 930 the following Monday!!!!! And this wasn't just a pre- operative consultation...but the actual extraction. Her luck continued getting DR. TAYLOR.... young, sharp and current with modern dental practices. He also handled mom really well psychologically to adjust his technique when she refused sedation at the last minute to only want local lidocaine numbing. In total the procedure took about 20 minutes! And I felt the pricing was very reasonable for the HIGH QUALITY of Dr Taylor's EXCELLENT care. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this excellent practice!

***This review is for my experience scheduling and the communication with the office staff leading…read moreup to my procedure. My actual procedure went very well and Dr. Olin is amazing.*** I had my consultation appointment with Dr. Olin on November 3, 2025 after he was highly recommended by my orthodontist. My consultation included imaging and then 45 minutes of face to face time with Dr. Olin where he explained the plan in depth. I was told that everything would be sent for authorization. I called the office on Friday, November 21st to follow up as I had not received anything from my insurance. I was told by the front office that I needed to have the orthodontist place the palate expander prior to scheduling surgery. This was an error and they were going to check with the doctor and call me back. I never received a call. I followed up 2 weeks later and I checked-in with my orthodontist. I called again and spoke with Brandi, who was handling my auth and scheduling. She let me know the paperwork hadn't been signed. Okay, it's the end of the year, I get it. I told her my goal was to schedule and follow through with the procedure ASAP. I called again after Christmas and spoke with Brandi. No update. I expressed that this was frustrating and I understood that it was not her fault. She agreed that she would also be frustrated. To make a long story shorter, my orthodontic team needed to get involved as there was minimal information and communication from Brandi. If I did call, answers were short and it sounded as though she may be irritated. I finally received auth in late January. Scheduling was just as difficult. Finally get a date scheduled for 5/21 and moved to 4/16, amazing! Pre op is scheduled for 4/13. On 4/3, I called and spoke to Brandi to confirm and asked if we had further details, such as a time. No. The day of my pre-op, all goes to plan until I go to check out and schedule post op appointments. I was told I had a $1500 copay and that I should have been notified. I said I was not and that my copay according to my insurance plan was $0. I asked to see the documentation and the girl at the front desk didn't have it but was told that the insurance company said to collect this amount. I asked to speak to the office manager at this point and was told she was working from home that afternoon but she would call me. I paid the copay because I didn't want to risk losing my procedure date. I called my insurance company immediately after leaving and was told the copay was incorrect, that it was $0, and they had no documentation on their end stating I was to pay $1500. The rep called and spoke to Brandi while I was on hold and when he came back on the line, he said immediately asked if I knew a Brandi. I confirmed and he let me know he had to tell her she could not charge me the copay and that the comment "She should be thankful because she's getting a 60k surgery," was made. He let me know I she was going to void the charges. I called to confirm and Brandi picks up the phone and says,"I'm doing it now." No hello, nothing. I asked if the transaction fee would also be returned. "Yes," and she hung up on me. I followed up via email asking for the transaction receipt and proof of void, and let them know I was happy to pay any patient portion due and I would need to see documentation. I received the transaction receipt and no other response. Surgery came and went. All was well and when I came in for my post op, I asked to speak with the office manager prior to me leaving. I initially told she would call me but when I asked if she was available this afternoon and I would wait, I waited for a few minutes with my husband to speak with Christina. When we sat down with her, I asked if she was familiar with my case and what had happened. She started with "I understand your frustration is targeted on Brandi. ". She followed up with the fact that I had received my money back and it was an error. I let her know that I was really upset with the tone of the service I received and it was so negative that when I was asked by Dr. Olin to move my post op appointment, I didn't want to call incase I spoke with Brandi due to the poor interactions. When I mentioned what my insurance rep said to me, she said it couldn't have happened because she sits next to Brandi. Remember, she was out of the office that afternoon. Christina did not appear to hear my concerns and dismissively said she looked into it. When I seemed unsatisfied, she asked what I was looking for. I replied that I just wanted her to really hear me so that there could be improvements made. Again the answer was very dismissive to the point that I asked if I was even welcome back in the future. I may need another surgery and Dr. Olin is amazing. She said yes and seemed surprised. Long story short, I don't know if change will happen but I hope so.

My teenager even expressed that he was expecting the worst, but he did not feel any pain, even days afterward. Dr. Paul is also extremely responsible of his work and compassionate with his patients. He personally called afterward to check on how my son was feeling, which tells a lot about him. During our follow-up consultation, he took the time to answer every question thoroughly and explain everything from a professional perspective. Overall, I feel completely confident recommending Dr. Paul Koshgerian to anyone needing oral surgery care, in which I already have referred him to my coworker. I even searched for another doctor to take her in. But after a lot of thought and talking to my daughter's dentist I decided to go ahead and take her in the day of her surgery. I was nervous because my daughter was having all of her wisdom teeth's removed and 2 extra tooth's that she had very deep. The day of the surgery we got there early in the morning before 8:00am. We waited 10 minutes when someone showed up, she was very respectful and nice she told us she was going through the back and open in a bit. After probably 2 minutes she opened the door we checked in and did all the check in process, they prescribed her antibiotic, pain medicine, anti-inflammatory and nausea medecine I was very impressed because my oldest daughter had oral surgery two years prior and the surgeon who did her surgery didn't prescribe everything they prescribed for my daughter this time. At around 8:30am they called her in, I went in with her and said "bye" to her because obviously no one is allowed at the surgical area, after a few hours the nurse came out and told me she was ready and to pick her up at the back parking. I went to grab my car and drove to the designated area and a few minutes later a nurse came out with my daughter in a wheelchair. She looked very good for someone who just had oral surgery. After her surgery in the evening Doctor Podstreleny i think that's how you spell his name called me to ask how my daughter was doing I was very impressed and happy because I was able to asked him any doubts I had. The next day a nurse from his office called me again and asked how she was doing and I was very pleased because I knew they care about patients. After 4 days of her surgery she was doing so well she didn't have that much inflammation very little pain and no nauseas. A little over a week has passed and she's doing excellent she looks like nothing has been done to her. I'm VERY HAPPY I took her here to get her oral surgery. Before ending here she was referred to 2 other different places and the doctors told me they couldn't do her surgery because it was complicated. I would advise that before taking a decision to asked all your doubts to the doctor and his staff. And if you're still concerned about something go back and asked again. I was disappointed with my experience at this office. My husband's insurance had recently expired without our knowledge. While I understand that insurance eligibility can change and needs to be verified before an appointment, the way the situation was handled was unprofessional. When we arrived, the front desk employee informed us that the insurance was inactive. As we tried to understand why it had not been caught earlier, she became visibly annoyed, rolled her eyes, and returned my husband's ID by sliding/slamming it back across the counter. We remained respectful and immediately offered to pay for the consultation out of pocket. Despite repeatedly confirming that we wanted to proceed and pay for the appointment, we were continually asked if we wanted to reschedule instead. We were also repeatedly reminded about the card processing fee even after acknowledging it and agreeing to pay. The dentist may provide good care, but the customer service we received at the front desk left a very negative impression. A little professionalism, patience, and courtesy would have gone a long way.

Dr Machado performed a double jaw surgery on me in 2012 - thirteen years ago. I really haven't been able to put into words that he completely changed my entire life. I cannot express enough gratitude and thanks for being able to live the last 13 years happy with my face, after hating looking in the mirror for my entire life prior. Dr Machado is the single most pivotal person in my life after my family. No longer having my appearance be a daily negative factor in my life is best gift I could have ever received. Dr. Machado and his office fought hard for my parents to get the surgery approved through insurance, made a critical last minute decision to go for double jaw surgery instead of having to do two as originally planned, which was so amazing. He was available during my after care and I always felt like I was in good hands and that he was available should I ever need him... which I did a couple years later. My favorite experience was a year or so later when I came back in to get a screw removed - Dr Machado looked at my face and said something to the effect of "I could lowered the top teeth slightly more" - which is something I had considered in passing. I am more than thrilled with my face, its an absolute success by every measure and by any other doctor would be considered 'perfect' - but I am even more appreciative that Dr. Machado cares down the millimeters and scrutinizes your face just as much or more as you do. He is a true artist and a perfectionist. When you undergo this type of surgery you need to have someone you can trust with your appearance, especially in the trying times when you have to wait months to a year for the final result. Dr. Machado is someone who can and will deliver that for you. Thank you for completely changing the entire direction of my life. Thank you for giving my the self confidence I never had. Date of most recent visit: January 14, 2025…read more For the past couple of years, I had a bump on my inner lip that had neither grown or shrunken; it was just... there. My dentist was concerned about it, so she referred me to Dr. Mahdi Matin and his team at West Coast Oral Surgery. They discovered that not only did I have two bumps that were papillomas (which gave me a bit of concern as the first thing that popped into my head was HPV... which they quickly reassured me it wasn't), but they also wanted to remove them for a biopsy to make sure they weren't cancerous or anything like that. I went in last week to get the papillomas removed, and just yesterday got the official word... BENIGN! (Actually, I had known since this past Friday, as my dentist had also gotten the pathology results and were the first to tell me, but I still wanted to hear it from Dr. Matin.) What impressed me about West Coast Oral Surgery is that not only was the procedure quick and relatively painless once the anesthesia kicked in, but how professional the staff was in describing what the procedure would entail, treatment, and payment plans. While they don't take Tricare/Triwest (for those of you who have it), they do take CareCredit as a payment. Also, when the dental assistant asked what I wanted to listen to while they did my procedure, I said 80's tunes... but somehow the Pandora station started playing Motown and 70's music. No biggie, plus the assistant said she liked my musical taste! Definitely recommend Dr. Matin and the folks at West Coast Oral Surgery!

I'm glad he pointed out that I needed a sinus cover once my tooth was gone, as my tooth was located so far up it was connected to the sinus. On the day of the surgery, the process went smoothly and efficiently, and the staff helped calm my nerves. Although I had somewhat of a lengthy recovery at first, everything has healed nicely now without any complications. The price for the procedure also seemed reasonable (after insurance). I would definitely recommend West Coast Oral Surgery!
