My mother had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at this office. She came in needing a translator, and instead of being treated with patience and understanding, she was dismissed and not properly cared for. She told the nurse that her knees and eyes hurt, but the nurse never communicated this to the doctor. When the doctor left, the nurse told my mom, "oh well, you can only ask for three things, you're asking for more, he already left." That is unacceptable. On top of that, my mom needed a DMV form. Since the doctor had already left, she was told to come back the next day. Frustrating, but she agreed. When she returned, she had to wait a very long time just to be seen. Another doctor reviewed her chart but said there was "no record" and refused to sign the form she needed. They sent her to the front desk for help, but when she spoke with Denise, she was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of assisting, Denise told my mom "we don't do that, you have to call." This entire experience was a mess of miscommunication, lack of compassion, and outright rudeness. My mom left without the care or forms she needed. Sadly, she will not be returning here. When you seek medical care, you hope for professionalism, kindness, and respect. Unfortunately, this office showed none of that. Patients deserve better. read more

Best Drs office I've ever been to. The front office staff is always very friendly and welcomes their patients with a smile. The office is very clean and the wait to see the Dr is very minimal. I have been a patient for 20+ years! Love Dr Joel I feel that all my health concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Nursing staff are always kind when answering the phone and return calls promptly. Dr Joel does not rush me and takes the time to really listen to me. This is the worst doctor on the planet Earth he never does anything but refer two specialists he never touches the patient to check vitals. 4 years he completely ignored my congestive heart failure now I'm in Reno Nevada and I find that I have AFib leaky valves and I need I pacemaker implant and stent. I would advise for you to seek another Doctor. He does not even give you a chance to talk and walks out in the middle of you talking. He prescribes medication for symptoms without testing to get to the bottom of your issue. he needs to learn how to be more attentive and patient. he needs to listen to the patient he is hired by the patient to help the patient not ignore them or to walk out on them. he has not stayed in the room with me any longer then 3 minutes. you are only allowed three complaints at one time obviously for billing but even if your their for one issue. he does not seem to care. read more

Don't even bother here. The Dr takes forever to come in and when he finally does he spent less than 5 mins in the room. Doesn't address your concern. Even when it's your first time seeing him and not the nurse practitioner. And if you file a complaint about it, he has his office manager come out and tell you that maybe you should find a new primary care physician. And the office manager doesn't take her job very seriously, she was literally rude as can be and had a smirk on her face the whole time I was making a complaint. Then refused to give me the progress note from my visits. I had to take my dad to the hospital because they refused to see him because supposedly he missed his appointment. By the time we got my dad to the hospital his potassium level was so high if we would've waited his heart would've stopped. He's an absolute horrible doctor! Worst bedside manner and just uncaring all the way around... My father in-law who was a WWII vet had Care More insurance and my brother in law who has IEHP had the misfortune of ending up with him. Dr. Velasquez was completely incompetent on the treating of my father-in-law's open wound on his leg. So Over 6 months of being treated by Velasquez the wound just get worse! We had to call an ambulance for him because the infection was so bad it almost killed him! At the hospital they sent in an infectious wound specialist and within 3 weeks it was almost healed. My personal thought and advise.. if you care about your loved onesstay away from this doctor! We've had many many years of experience with this doctor. Next day I walked straight into Desert Valley Hospital for the same complaints medical concerns I had seeing Mr Valasquez No questions asked I was admitted with several test work , blood work and Cardio testing a whole pleasant 2day visit . Could have this been avoided? Could have Mr valasques been more helpful ? Maybe stress ? Yesterday was our very first visit to this office. Like many, I don't like doctor offices for a lot of the basic reasons. Long waits, unfriendly or uncaring staff etc. When my wife and I walked out we both said that was the most pleasant experience we've had wasat a doctors office! Dr Velasquez Office Is always over an hour wait even with an appt! Finally you're in and he only a spends about 2 minutes with you and he's gone with no chance of more questions or concerns. I've seen Jill Ross FNP three times now. She has 20 years experience, is very down-to-earth, and cares. I've never met the Doctor, but I will make an apt with him to meet him. Only drawback to Jill is that she's new up here and does not know the Doctors. So far though, she's great. So maybe try her if you're considering going there. read more

His medical assistant thinks she is a nurse or doctor. He never physically examined me yet sent medications in for a problem he never seen. Pick a different doctor as this may be your last. He is in a rush and tries to have his Medical assistants screen you so he can see you for less than 60 seconds and treat you then move on to the next patient. read more

Well the star is only because we have to rate but I'll get straight to the point I cannot believe how disappointing both my husband's visit and my own visit was with this doctor the wait time to even be called back is just ridiculous then once we were both in our own waiting rooms (separate appointment dates by the way) he waited 45 minutes for the doctor to come in I waited about 30 and the doctor spent 3 minutes with my husband and I he is not personable he seemed like he could care less there were a couple of questions that my husband really wanted to be able to talk to him about and the doctor literally told my husband to his face that he did not have time today to address the issues that it will have to be another appointment and walked out as my husband was talking now with me I was able to bring up a couple of things that I did want to talk to him about and yes he did the same to me was walking out of the room as I was still talking and I actually did have one more question but he was already out the door it's so sad that this is the care that is offered do NOT come here find another doctor, you are wasting your time if you try dr. Walks in no eye contact rude and condescending with no concern for my health whatsoever. Smirks and talks down to me on concerns over wanting to get checked out for cancer even though i have had two grandfathers die of cancer and other member have it now. But wants to wait till i am 50.
