Our Kenmore wall oven started broiling when set to bake which would burn the food. I would reset…read morethe breaker, but the problem kept recurring. When I called Mr. Steward, he was familiar with the problem and sent out Jason, a former Sears appliance repairman. Jason pulled out the damaged part and spent some time trying to find a replacement part. He was finally able to locate a repair business in Austin that rebuilt the part plus a 2-year guarantee. Jason returned and replaced the refurbished part, and the oven works like new. As a new oven would cost several thousand dollars, I was pleased with the cost and the great service. Mr. Steward also gives first responders, Veterans and the military a 10% discount. I highly recommend Steward Appliance repair and will use them in the future if needed. Lanny Brown

Again the need to justify your actions as well. First off…read moreyour not the only one that was in the military. Using that as your justification for this is an embarrassment. Yes you are correct in stating I already had the boot and you would not warranty it. That is a correct statement. I DID speak to you. The scheduled time was not by you but by the person that called. You however stated it would be done in at least 1-2 hours once started. You did say you could pull your tech from another job. You were told originally I had to leave by 4 when I called you to see why no one had showed up. Not go to work but to leave. I had taken off work to wait on the tech. It was just after 3 pm at the time of that conversation and it would take approximately 20 minutes to get to me. So it would not have been done before I had to leave. I wasn't risking having it taken apart then having to leave with it apart because I wasn't risking not going to be back for several hours. Price wise you stated nothing originally about a discount nor explained diag fees and etc. You were told up front make model and I had the part. I asked how long and how much. You replied with how long and price. Which is very comparable to others. Honestly it was a hair cheaper. 9 bucks cheaper with NO discounts from the other companies that quoted me. Yes he is correct I believe in my google reviews. Because thats all he can find under that name. Im not leaving a 5 star review for anyone because they answered the phone or did the job requested as they should. Now issues, or going above and beyond then yes I will leave a review. And again he did offer to pull a tech. He did state he would do that. However that was after our initial conversation and I told him I would have to find someone else because I couldn't wait. He called me back to tell me that. By then the timing was not going to happen and I definitely did not want a rush job. And as I stated before he nor the girl was rude in any way. I do believe he was professional in handling himself over the phone. ORIGINAL POST Does not schedule or communicate with clients well. Appt for 2pm. I had to leave by 430pm. Was told not a problem and will be done by then. Took off work half a day to wait. No show at time scheduled. Made contact 1 hr later after waiting on hold to be told tech is behind. No communication to inform me. Get told he can be there by 330. When setting up appointment I was told 2 hours and it would be done. Offers 20$ off to reschedule. Already lost 4hrs work to loose another 4 hours work to see if they show up again. 8 hrs for 20$. Insulting. Do not recommend using this company.

He is very knowledgeable about different appliances and he knew mine right away and he had an idea what it could be and sure enough it was the soap & softener dispenser. Worth it for my peace of mind & also made sure I knew where my water shut off was just in case. These are good things to know , most people might not & that I'm a woman & older, it's good to know. Knowledgeable and Trustworthy!…read more I have a 15+ year old refrigerator that neither the refrigerator or freezer were working. Akai inspected the entire unit and indicated the issue was the defroster in the freezer wasn't working and needed to be replaced. He quoted me what I thought was a very fair price but before I could say "Shut up and take my money!" he added that when he had unplugged the unit & plugged it back in, when starting up again the compressor sounded a bit suspicious. Thus he indicated I could go ahead and pay him to install a new defroster in the freezer, but it is only a matter of time before the compressor craps out and then replacing it would be over $1,000 and not worth it. So get this....he proposes that I defrost it the old school way by unplugging it, opening both the freezer & fridge doors, placing towels in front of the unit, and allowing all of the ice to melt and then just mop up all the water with towels and my wet vac and that would solve the problem for now. And in a few months when the issue occurs again I can just repeat the old school defrosting method until the compressor finally goes kaput, and then get a brand new refrigerator. Sure enough, I proceeded to do exactly what he recommended and lo and behold the fridge & freezer started working properly again. And I am all too happy to repeat every few months to squeeze every last bit of life from this old fridge until I have to get a new one. Akai could have very easily kept quiet about the compressor sounding sketchy and that it could fail in 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years and gotten a nice service order for replacing the defroster since he had already devoted the valuable time & effort to come to my house. However, he instead chose to be completely honest and forthcoming which is not as common as it should be and is very appreciated. I have saved his contact info and the next time I have any issues with any appliances he will be the technician I call. Knowledge and experience is great and there are a lot of qualified & knowledgeable appliance repair companies out there. However, also possessing honesty and integrity is why I strongly recommend Akai for any appliance repair issues.

Came two weeks later with the part and said it was fixed. It was not and I called to let them know that afternoon and they said give it overnight to cool. Yeah right!!! High temp alarm constantly went off and no cooling. Called C&C that day and was told they had to order another part without even coming to look at it. Here we are another 2 weeks later and nothing. Called them again today and she could not give me an ETA on the part. I am beyond frustrated at this point and will NEVER purchase nor recommend C&C Appliances to anyone!! When you spend over $1200 for a GE freezer you would expect it to last more than 2 months. I asked to return it for a new one and was told that can only happen in the first 7 days after purchase. Really??!!! I also purchased the extended 5 year warranty, but it looks at this point that it will not even last a year. My next recourse is to speak to the owner, Larry Wright, who advertises on TV that this is the best place and will meet or beat any price. He didn't say how crappy the appliance was nor how poor customer service is. Does he even know? He needs to find out. All I asked was to replace my two month old broken freezer and as of today their answer is no!! I am one very dissatisfied customer
