This is a sit down restaurant located in the basement, not what we expected, but much better than a basement sounds! Several of us ordered their classic haddock fish and chips and it was battered perfectly! Light, crispy and delish! This was the best fish and chips we had during the trip and there were many good ones. Side salads were yummy and huge. Coleslaw was just ok, supppper creamy. I prefer the mushed peas. The chorizo and fish starter was good, but not worth recommending or repeating. Local beers on draught available. Our server gave us a great recommendation for a bar after (Duke's Corner). Dessert special was a traditional Scottish dessert of oats, berries, cheesecake and whiskey and was worth trying!

They offer pensioner half portions as well as kids meals, a veggy burger and all the usual extras if required, beans, peas, pickles etc Always delicious and freshly cooked with breaded haddock being my mum's choice rather than battered. The veggy burger comes in a toasted bun so can be a bit dry, ask them to butter it tho and it's perfect. Music is now supplied thanks to a radio or mini cd player ;) The girls serving are always cheerful and polite too which always helps!

The inside of the restaurant was nice nothing too fancy but modern and clean. Service was very attentive and nice. We did not feel rushed even though when I booked they had a note saying a time limit. This seemed common at most restaurants we booked in Scotland though so maybe it's more of common place. Also has a fish market at the front of the store that you can purchase meats to go. Definitely would recommend a stop in here.

The salted caramel cake we had for dessert was, however, delicious. So a decent meal but - as my school reports used to say - could do better!
