this bar is nice, on a thursday evening it was very empty in the interior but was quite busy on the rooftop. the bloody mary was delicious and the transfusion was also really good with a very strong grape flavor. you couldn't really taste the ginger beer in it though, i only just now realized it was even meant to have ginger beer in it. the food was good too, especially as far as bar food goes! we got the loaded tater tots and the chicken burger and they were both substantial and yummy. read more

Went here for a Bears home game and received some of the worst table service I have experienced in my 30+ years. After being told the food I had ordered was no longer available, through no fault of their own, I opted for a simple tomato soup. The assigned waitress never returned to our table of 4, after at least 2 hours, to check on our party or to verify we received the requested food. This was after the fact that the first dish was not going to be filled and the unfortunate disappointment was made clear. This was a complete failure on the waitress and food serving staff as no attempt was made to verify patrons are at a minimum fed. I would not waste my money here and in the future I will go to a cleaner and more organized establishment for a 19$ salad and a can of tomato soup at 8$. read more

Has the best time for my first time here! Had Tanner Adell tickets and as soon as we walked in with minimal security line we were approached by a staff who asked if we wanted to upgrade to balcony. We took advantage and it was the best idea! We had the best view just stage right, we had plenty of space to stand and dance, private bar with excellent service, private security, and could run out for quick bathroom trips and get back outta the crowd easy. When to watch a basketball game. Whole we uber there, there is street parking around. There are two different rooms. They took reservations for this event. They have tvs all around for your sporting events. They also offer a lot of late night events, which you can see on their website. Example a color party this evening 10pm-4am. The chicken nachos were good, about a 45-minute wait due to a game playing, but we were informed about the time prior to ordering. The food did come to the table hot. read more

Came here with my sister in law for the Spencer Crandall concert & meet/greet! The venue is awesome! The front has high top tables and bar seating like a normal bar/restaurant but the back room is HUGE! Large stage for performers and 3 bars for cocktail service. There is also a balcony area. Music / sound system sounded amazing and filled the room! They also had White Claw which is a big plus! Staff was super friendly and I will definitely be back for another show soon! read more

Came here for an event a few weeks ago with some friends. Had an extremely rude ticket scanner at the front. He got mad that my friend accidentally walked to the wrong door. Some of the staff inside overheard us talking about it because 10 minutes later the manager comes over to my friends and I and apologize and gave us free drink coupons. I went to joes sports bar tonight with my friends and there was a massive queue out the door despite the actual night club inside being fairly empty. I tried to say hi to people in the line that i knew and was grabbed and pushed by security guards. this happened several times whenever me or my friends stood slightly outside the line or tried to converse with other friends in the line above. I have never encountered such rude and genuine abuse behaviour by the two bodyguards and this has not been the first time this has happened. Tonight, I was yelled at, shoved and pushed while waiting over 30 minutes in the queue for this irish club on a tuesday. They also increased their pay in price to 15$ instead of 10$ last minute and kicked out my friends who were waiting in line for 45 minutes. honestly disgraceful behaviour and will never be returning again and will be spreading the word to other irish students to stay clear of Joes. read more

First time there as I had tickets for the WXRT popup show for Sierra Ferrell. Parking around the corner at the garage was around $10 for 5 hours. Lots of suited security. Think they were there because of the event. Coat check is $4 per item. Ladies room has two stalls of which only one locked. Heineken Silver sponsored giveaways were a nice touch. Other reviews on here go into detail about the concert space so no need for me to repeat. I had a spot at the front left of the stage area. There's a staircase to an upper seat/viewing section for VIPs I assume. Prior to the start of the show, I set my drink on the railing ledge so I could insert my earplugs. Security dude lost it. Started shouting that I was not allowed to reach over the railing. Seriously he was yelling. You would have thought I was putting a picnic blanket down at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier! Something along the lines of "Sorry, you're not allowed ...." in a normal tone would have gone a long way. I won't be coming back to Joe's. read more

I came to Joe's for the Rod Tuffcurls & The Bench Press concert with some friends, and loved my entire experience here! Joe's itself has a large set up in the front, with plenty of seating and TVs to catch a sporting event. We grabbed a drink here before heading to the back room where the concert was being held. The concert was located in the very back in a separate area. They also had a section dedicated to a fun photobooth and merch. The band played an epic show that had my friends and I singing and dancing till the very last song. The sound quality and lighting were great - my sound engineer brother would've been impressed! Before the concert even started, the music was on point and they were playing The Office clips on the TVs which I thought was awesome. For how busy it was, the bartenders were never rude and very quick to serve. Drinks were also stupid cheap for what we were getting. Usually, bars upsell and overcharge during big events and concerts, but I didn't feel like that was the case at Joe's. I'd highly recommend this spot for a concert! I'm shocked to see such low ratings. I'm throwing up five stars for my experience at Joe's! We had a great time here from start to finish. A little about the place- They have a spacious bar area right when you walk in with a bunch of high table seating and TVs that had various games on. For concerts, they have an entirely different area with a large stage, open dance floor, and two decently sized bars back there on both sides of the stage. They have bathrooms both in the front of the bar and the back by the concert area. They had a separate room in the back where they had a photo booth set up with a custom frame for the concert. Awesome touch! We came here to see Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press this past Saturday and snagged tickets at the door. I read online that they take credit card but once we got there the door man said they only took cash. Luckily there was a Chase with an ATM right across the street. The tickets were going for $35 but dropped to $20 the day of so we were happy about that! The bar- Every bar tender I encountered was pleasant. This place was packed once the concert started and I was really impressed with the positivity from the bar tenders and how quickly they were working. Way to go team! Also, very affordable pricing at the bar from being in Chicago. Mixed drinks were only $7 and beers were about that same price. The concert- The sound quality was fantastic. It filled up the entire bar so well. They also had the concert sound playing on the other side of the bar and I think they had it on some TVs over there also. The stage lighting was great and again, everything about the concert and band performing exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to come back and I recommend seeing a concert here! read more

Found this place on Eventbrite for reggae rooftop party . Great view, great service and strong drinks. The atmosphere was nice. The staff were nice. Drinks were reasonably priced. Next time; I'll come checkout the inside of the bar. The music was live. The DJ was good but I wanted him to play more reggae. He kept mixing in pop music. The parking was hit or miss. Came here on Friday night was honestly looking to grab quick food before going to work. The place actually seemed pretty busy and I was really surprised that our food came out fairly quick. The buffalo chicken egg rolls they have are seriously a must to try! You will thank me later! The combination with the cheese on top hits the spot. I also ordered 6 bbq wings which I forgot to take picture of with side salad. The bbq sauce was really good and I was honestly impressed. I came her for a concert on a Friday night in October 2016. Limited parking. Valet cost me $15. I liked the venue a lot! I was kind of rushing to make it to the beginning of the concert so I didn't have much time to check out the layout but from what I saw, there are 3 sections. The sports bar serving as a den for Cubs fans sausage party. The sports betting bar. And the concert venue. I genuinely liked the ambience. The layout is great too, lots of potential. What turned me off is the bartenders attitude in the concert hall. There are two bars there.. Fuck, you gotta be drunk to tolerate this shit.. The concert organization.. started 30 minutes later. Lengthy band changes.. Nothing special, I may return but I'll probably avoid the bars. read more

The pizza was amazing,staff was courteous and there are enough TVs to probably show every game that was playing last night. Considering I'm a Badger Fan, I can't wait to come watch them play the Hoosiers as I was told they are known for being a Hoosier Bar. Would I ever come here if they didn't have trivia? Probably not. The food and drinks are nothing special here. However, the tv/movie trivia here is absolutely amazing. I've visited for Parks and Rec and The Office trivia and it was super fun. There are a ton of teams and they have a whole section devoted to trivia. If you want to win, you will need to religiously binge watch the shows beforehand. Onto the food: the grilled buffalo chicken tenders with fries are good, but I feel like I could make that in the microwave. It wasn't special at all. The nachos I'd never recommend. I was originally introduced to Joe's via a kickball league that I joined. I participated in that kickball league for two seasons so I have been too Joe's way too many times. Joe's is a great bar for sports leagues because they have great drinks deals and food (for leagues). Outside of the league I've visited Joe's a handful of times and it has been a hit or miss experience. Unfortunately Joe's is the kind of place that seems like they are looking for any reason to squeeze a few extra bucks out of you. I visited on a Saturday night and they forced us to stand in a long line that didn't move, even though we could see how empty it was inside. My friend asked the bouncier, prior to standing in the line, if we would have to pay the price for the concert even if we just want to grab a drink and chill in the bar area. We were told we wouldn't have to pay but once we finally got inside we were told that we had to pay the concert charge. The guy collecting was super rude and could care less if we were there to spend money. We decided to get out of there and not give them any money. We ended up going to a bar up the street. I can truly only see myself going to Joe's during the summertime to enjoy the rooftop. read more

Came here on a Sunday to watch some playoff football. Granted, it wasn't the Bears, but the place was so empty! It wasn't until after the first quarter that even a couple more tables came. We were the only ones there up until then! It meant we got good service, but it was almost too much as we were constantly asked if we were okay. That being said, the place is awesome for watching games, with over 30 TVs in the main room. There are even booths you can reserve that each have two of their own TVs so you can choose what to watch. Menu is pretty standard but the fries are excellent! Beer buckets are available for $19 for domestic and $30 for hard seltzers, which is steep but better than the $7.50 they charge for a can alone! read more

This is a typical sports bar with a lot of different TV screens playing different sport games. The pizza was actually above average for a sports bar - nothing truly amazing but here is what made it great: $5 for 10 inch cheese pizza with $1.25 each additional topping on Tuesday nights! $5 cover if you come in after 8 pm. There is also a dance floor + bar in the back where it got pretty crowded around 10 pm. The music being played was a range from Jennifer Lopez to teach me how to dougie days, and some mainstream. Pretty cheesy and so was the pizza (ha ha). It was overall still a fun place. Count me in on a Tuesday but I don't see myself going in on any other day. read more

I've been to this venue to do concerts and it's great . The customer service is really great and the concert area in the back is awesome. They have a great selection of food here. I've done the VIP buffet during concerts and everything served was great! They hold concerts here all the time, mainly country. So if you are looking for a fun night out, I'd look to see who they have coming here next! It's not too pricy and good for all ages 21+ I would say. Ended up coming here for trivia night. It still sucks. My friend reserved a table for Parks and Rec trivia at 8pm and was required to show up at 7:30 to keep the reservation. Why not just charge cover...? Same idea, they want to make as much money as possible. Whatever, it's fine. Most of us partook in the $4 mystery beer special during trivia. There were 3 or 4 different possibilities that we figured out pretty much immediately since we were ordering quite a few. Some decent stuff and a good deal...if half of them weren't part skunked. Not ideal. Within five minutes of trivia ending the servers started to wipe down tables and put chairs up. Ok, I guess you want us to leave! Doesn't match up with requiring people to show up a half hour early for their reservation but sure. This is around 9:30pm for a place that is open until midnight mind you. This is the worst service I've ever had in awhile. Waitress took our order and within less than 5 min had already run up our check and gave us our bill, even though we did not ask for it, were in no hurry, but apparently she sure was! But no biggie, we figured that if we wanted to order more, we could just have a second bill or update it. This was NOT the case however, and our waitress rudely told us to go to the bar for more orders of drinks. 15 minutes after the food of buffalo wings and fries came, we still had no napkins, plates or catsup, etc. I asked the waitress but she cut me off as such: Me: Excuse me, I am sorry to bother, but I was wondering if it were possible to get some- Waitress: yea catsup, silverware and napkins, yea, i know, i got it, hold on!! (rudely). I was so taken aback that I couldn't respond. When the catsup did come, the bottle was empty. At this point, I didn't bother to try to flag her down. Same with plates. I shared the 10 buffalo wings (although the wings we got were smokey wings) and big basket of fries, and it was kinda gross to eat without plates. We didn't have a place for our discarded bones, so we placed them precariously ontop of a tiny square napkin (the ones that come with drinks?). The sauce and grease from the chicken and fries soaked through the napkins and made a fine mess on the table. Again, by this time the waitress was walking by pointedly ignoring us, or asking us to finish paying the bill. I came here for the Boy Band Night, which is AWESOME! but the venue was terrible. I seriously have never had such bad service and left giving her a $1.65 tip on a $16 bill. Skip the bar and restaurant, and if you want to see the Boy Band, go to a different venue. read more

As sports bars go Joe's is of the 'tape on the seats, drinks in plastic cups, why is everything so sticky?, without looking at the menu I'm certain they have tater tots' variety. And that's exactly what you get. They are exceptional at being mediocre. Hitting that "A-OK" right outta the park. If that is the kind of experience you're looking for...head to Joe's on Weed St, you will not be disappointed. The concert and event part of Joe's though is pretty good at what they do.
