God I love Corcoran's. It's what I need in a bar. The back courtyard is so lovely on summer nights. They have a few bar stations throughout the space. The food is really good too and they have more options than standard bar food - like salad wraps, loaded mac n cheese and Irish classics. The loaded brisket mac is killer and a must get in my opinion. Huge portion, could easily feed 4-6 people. Good beer and cider selection. Servers and staff work hard during busy times. read more

Had the weirdest experience here. We came in and went up to the bar to order drinks. A server standing near the bar asked if we were trying to order, and we said yes. She then asked whether we planned to stay at the bar because, if we were going to sit in a table section, we needed to order from the server assigned to that section. We told her we weren't sure where we were going to sit, so we ordered our drinks at the bar. A friend later came over who happened to be sitting in a table section, so we walked over to chat with him. When we got there, an entire group was being kicked out for moving chairs around. The bouncer then started telling us that the group was lying to us. I have literally never seen this group in my life and they certainly didn't lie to me? We asked if we could sit down, and the bouncer said yes. A couple of minutes later, the same server came outside and proceeded to tell us for about 7 minutes straight that we couldn't sit there because we had ordered our drinks at the bar and we had just lied to her. Genuinely felt like she was an ex claiming we just cheated and she would not let it go. It was the weirdest reaction ever. We offered to simply order our next drinks from the server, but that wasn't acceptable either. At that point, we had to go back inside, where we were repeatedly told we couldn't stand in certain areas. So essentially, we were expected to stand directly next to the bar where we had ordered and paid for our drinks. I used to serve, so I completely understand that servers need to protect their sections and make money. But there has to be a better way to organize this than making customers feel like they're in the way, telling them where they can and can't stand (in a literal bar at 11 PM) and refusing to let them move to an essentially empty section even when they offer to order from that server. It was particularly strange because of how long the situation was dragged out. We were willing to accommodate what they were asking, but instead of simply explaining the policy and moving on, it turned into a 7 minute argument with a customer who was actively trying to find a solution. At that point, it honestly just made us want to leave. This place has always been great during the day for a lunch, but the staff's behavior was incredibly strange this time. We were also IDed by the bouncer and then again every single time we ordered a drink, which made us wonder if there had recently been an issue with staff not checking IDs. Overall, it felt like the staff was looking for reasons to escalate situations rather than simply helping customers have a good experience. They're pretty unprofessional and weird. There needs to be a better system in place because the way this was handled was unreasonable and left a really bad impression. read more

Service here is excellent. There is seating outside and inside. We had a couple a drafts - Dove Tail. Which is a great beer and then we ordered the Pub burger with waffle fries. The burger is very nice size and came out with all the toppings. That said it was incredibly bland meat. The burger needs some work. But the waffle Fries were spot on. Came here for lunch but the food wasn't impressive. Almost everything felt overly dry or overcooked. Cheese curds were heavily breaded, and not nearly as good as any cheese curds we had in Wisconsin. Many cheese curds were cut too small, so all you are eating is the breading... Curry fries were very soft. We asked for a medium-rare burger, but ended with a medium-well burger. Tons of meat, but just overcooked and not tasty. I had the driest falafel in the Shawarma Salad bowl. The falafel was pressed flat, which may be a great idea to those who love the crunchy shell. You can clearly see the texture in the hummus, which is also too dry. Chicken was probably the best ingredient on this plate. Often see this place being busy, but maybe just not for me. read more

Our softball team has been coming here for eight years and there are alot of pros and cons with this place. The place gets flooded in the summer with basically all intramural sports teams during the week. Not a bad thing, but can be hard to get a table sometimes. I personally am not a fan of the food, but did find the Nashville Chicken sandwich to be pretty good. Overall the service is very good, but the yearly rotating staff seems to always forget who we are, even though we have been coming here for eight years and play spring/summer/fall leagues. $5 PBRs also a very good deal and they always have the main games on. read more

They have the main bar, then this little outdoor area, as well as the building behind it. I thought the outdoor area was pretty cute. The service was good. They had servers walking around and asking if we wanted more drinks and giving us water. We didn't order any food but some of my coworkers got fried pickles that they said they liked. There was a VERY small bathroom. I was glad it wasn't that busy when we were there because it was very small and the hallway was very small and that would be an awful line during peak hours. read more

Love the atmosphere here! I've been for drinks before, but this was my first time ordering food. I got the chicken Caesar wrap - it was tasty but a little heavy on the dressing! I enjoyed the tomato bisque with it though, but it's $3 extra for the premium side. My dad got the fish and chips - the regular fries are not great, I'd recommend the waffle fries because they are way better! Service was a little slow, but atmosphere is nice though for a casual lunch. read more

Good vibes and good service! I went here after work on a Saturday and I'm glad I did. I usually don't go out to eat solo but I did this time and I plan on going back soon enough. I ordered a spicy sriracha wrap with waffle fries and an old fashioned - both fabulous. My bartender threw down on the old fashioned and I wanted to keep going but that would've ended up not in the best situation. One thing that other customers kept talking about / bringing up to the staff was the music. Sometimes the music would cutoff and not play for 5-10 minutes then randomly play and then turn off again. I'm sure it was once in a blue moon coincidence but something to note for next time because it seemed like people were there for a vibey good time with music. Corcoran's is in a great location, directly across the street from Second City, so it's the obvious choice for dinner before a show. It has a dark, pub feel to it, which works. It's very loud, which is not surprising at a sports bar. I had a grilled chicken sandwich on a wheat roll. The chicken breast had not been pounded evenly, so the sandwich was very lopsided and as soon as I picked it up, everything slid out. Also, the chicken was mostly dry. The menu said it came with "avocado", which to me means freshly sliced avocado, but instead it had a tiny amount of guacamole spread on the bun. Meh. A friend had tomato soup which they rated as "fine". The service was surprisingly fast, which is a real plus when heading for a show. read more

Rude bartender. My friend had his credit card taken from the bar and they gaslit him into saying they didn't have it. Told him he was too drunk and needed to chill out. It took us asking a different waitress for him to get the card back. The card was there the whole time. To put the cherry on top, the service was insanely slow and the staff were very very rude. The NOISE makes it almost unbearable. There was a basketball game on at a volume so loud that it was IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A CONVERSATION. Even talking straight into someone's ear was hard to hear. Sounded healthier than cheese curds. 2 giant avocado pits were served in the guac. Guess this is their, "MADE INHOUSE, ASSHOLE" branding? Burgers were also okay. This was a fun spot to stumble into after a day out. Unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't take advantage of being in the back patio, but we had a great time in the front bar area. Espresso martini on draft and a great spicy margarita and aperol spritz! I also got some grub - the island ceasar was delicious (I love that it comes with salmon), and the Buffalo Mac and cheese is a nice big portion and tasty as well! I was visiting my friend lives nearby. She took me to Corcoran's Grill & Pub. It was my first time try it out. I got the grilled Greek chicken wrap, and my friend got the pub burger. Food portion is big. We couldn't finish our food. Grilled chicken is good, not too dry and grilled well. Fries is OK. Not that special. We had a good experience because the environment is very relaxing. I don't feel rush to leave even we finish our food. On average it's $30 per person. We also got some beer. read more

Used to frequent this spot when living in Old Town when all the other places were full. Stopped back in due to the same situation recently and it hasn't changed much in the 5 years. Still full of frat dudes and young girls, average drinks and food. Bathroom right outside the kitchen.... But there is something to be said for consistency! It's great to know they will be open and available with both indoor and outdoor seating and lots of TVs. The indoor is really pretty with the old style booths and beautiful bar so I recommend sitting there. Most of the loud annoying frat dudes tend to go outside anyway. Decided to come here for brunch on St Patty's and wanted to try something new. The place was busy and had a good bar vibe. They didn't have paper menus and the QR code didn't have a drink menu. We ended up getting a snack and going to brunch somewhere else because it was a good vibe to have a drink but not exactly for brunch. The food we ordered was delicious (pretzels and cheese curds) but they didn't bring us napkins, plates or silverware and then didn't come back and check on us until we were ready to go. I visited Corcoran's Grill & Pub around 9 p.m. on a Monday with three friends. We were just stopping by for drinks before a show at Zanies Comedy Club down the street, which worked perfectly. I would certainly revisit again and recommend anyone in the area stop in for drinks! The atmosphere at Corcoran's was amazing. The interior was beautiful and the outside seating was stunning! My friends and I ordered two Moscow Mules and one Gin and Tonic. The Mules, $14 each, were very tasty, but the Gin and Tonic was much too strong. It almost tasted like it was entirely gin. read more
