Wish I could say I got to eat at this place but I didn't. Ordered carry out, which was to be ready at 6:30 pm. Told the person at the register my name. They said it wasn't ready. I watched them put some food in a warmer. I asked the person at the register if my food was in the warmer. She said no. 20 minutes later she puts another box in the warmer. 6 minutes after that, I asked if my order would be ready soon. She checks the register and walks over to the warmer and hands me my food. My pizza has been in a warmer for almost 30 minutes by this time! I ask for a manager, he apologized but didn't offer anything for my wait. By this point I just wanted my money back. I don't want to pay premium prices for stale pizza! YUCK!!! read more

Server was personable and helpful. 10 draft beers on tap, some American big names & Guinness, plus microbrews. Fun place and probably pretty lively when a big game on. Don't mistake this for just a bar. We haven't had anything to drink here but it's still one of the only places we've gone to repeatedly in Bloomington. The doh-nuts are really good--in fact, they're dangerous. Their pizza is supposed to be good but so far we've only had their sandwiches. The beef is super good. The other Joe's (Joe's Station) has an incredibly good Italian grinder. I wish Joe's Pub, this sister restaurant, had it. But that's ok. Last week I went and ordered 6 smash burgers to go. The bill was over 100.00. Upon returning to work to sort out everyone's orders, it was obvious all the burgers were completely over cooked, hard crust, even burnt in some areas. All of the cold toppings (which I asked for on the side) were wrapped on top of the hot burger making the toppings wilt, and bun soggy. I called the restaurant to let them know that our lunch was not good at all, after spending $100.00. I was told the charge to my credit card would be reversed. It wasn't. I was charged the complete amount. I've called several times to inquire as to if I misunderstood that I was going to get my money back, and nobody has answered the phone. I've never had a bad burger there, so I assumed maybe the cook was new. I was told he had been messing up a lot of orders and they've had numerous complaints. I ordered the $25 bag-o-burgers, since it was new, and an order of Dough Nuggets for pickup at 5:02pm. I received the confirmation that it would be ready at 5:47, which is a good time for the order to be ready. I showed up at 5:50pm, and was asked to wait. While I was waiting, I was more or less ignored for about 15 minutes in a place that had more people than necessary without wearing masks and WAY less than 6 feet apart. The waitresses were very rude and aside from asking me to sign a receipt for the order kind of just pushed me aside and kept me waiting for an exorbitant amount of time when given the 45 minute window for what I ordered, I should not have been in that establishment for more than 3 minutes to sign a receipt and grab my food. The food, when I got home, less than a 5 minute drive, was also nice and cold, and rather unappetizing. Overall, I/we will never be going back to Joe's Pub after this experience, which is a shame as we have gone before and really enjoyed it, but after today, being treated like garbage for ordering "to go "as to avoid the crowds (which I was not able to do since they were WAY to full). A few months ago had a cheeseburger and the bun was soaked with grease. Next time I went I kindly asked the owner to please make it so I don't have a soaked bun. He basically said "it's a cheeseburger, what do you expect?". He then came out and said that he told his cook that and the cook said "are you f'ing kidding me?". Really?!!! You say that to a customer? I supported you during Covid. Bought food from you almost weekly because I was trying to help you out. Slap in the face. Terrible attitude. Terrible business! The food is 4 stars but the bar is a fairly loud place. We ordered fried pickles (too salty), fried mushroom (awesome), spicy garlic parmesan wings (good), Italian beef rolls (MUST HAVE!) and Joe's burger (MUST HAVE!). The waitress was nice. Joe's is near my home, so we visited often. We always had friendly service, and they have a good beer selection. There are several servers that have been there for a long time, and it's nice they recognize regular customers. The Italian Beef pizza is my go-to and my favorite Italian Beef pizza I have had anywhere. A few menu items are so so, but overall we always enjoy going. It can be crowded at times and not always the best place to try and seat a family with children, but that was not an issue for us. We love going to Joe's Pub! read more

So disappointed in Joe's now. When they opened they had a more extensive menu and the prices were pretty reasonable. A little bit of a premium for being on the East side but nothing compared to what it is now. Tonight we ordered two pizzas, two beef rolls and two orders of dough nuggets. $85 later, we got them home and discovered the pizzas are now small, 2 inches bigger than Blaze, measuring just 12 inches. The Redbird pizza, is $18 for a 12 inch 4 topping pizza. Sadly, we won't be returning because it just isnt worth the money. Joe's used to be our neighborhood pub. Too bad. read more

The service was very slow. My friend and I went for lunch and ordered a burger and a hotdog. It took over an hour to get our order and when we did, the hotdog was cold, the bun was stale (inedible), and the burger had the wrong toppings. My friend had the fries and they were cold like they weren't cooked. I had the chips and the portion was very small (less than what you'd get in a single bag of chips). I wasn't satisfied by the amount of food provided. Our waitress never acknowledged that it was taking so long to get our food and when I let her know the bun was stale she said she would inform the kitchen but didn't offer me a new one or offer me anything else to make it up to me. Commendable beer selection and the service is solid. The atmosphere is just odd. It lacks any coziness or aesthetic of a "local." Illinois' newer gaming laws attract "those guys" to Joe's. You know, the guys who order next to nothing and pound quarters into the gambling machines like they're going to the electric chair tomorrow and interact with no one. The food is utterly forgettable. I am fairly confident the pizza dough is frozen; texture is dense and flavorless. Their pizza sauce also lacks flavor. We have been waiting to try this place out for a few weeks and we went yesterday and had the pizza... AMAZING!!! We went again for lunch today and I had 2 Jumbo Hot Dogs and fries... delicious! Two words that automatically gives this place a 5 star rating... DOUGH NUGGETS!! The atmosphere is awesome,: tv's everywhere, great for families or just for a drink after work. The Italian Beef looked amazing, all for a reasonable price! I suggest you try it out! The service is great and friendly. Do yourself a favor and go out and enjoy some pizza or a beer after work! We went in with some friends last night for drinks around 9pm and the place was jumping with a non-college young (both in age and at heart) crowd. Joe's is comprised of two rooms, one for ordering food (pizza, salads, sandwiches), which I think they bring to you in the other room, the bar area. The bar area has a large bar (duh) and tables and booths, and there were plenty of bartenders and runners for a busy night. Since we didn't get food I can't comment on that (though it smelled great!), but the drinks selection was pretty standard with about six beers on tap, Guinness, Sophie, Sam's Seasonal, Bud Light, and a couple of other domestics. We never saw or were offered a drinks menu, however, so I don't know if they have any specialty drinks, though I saw a LOT of Irish Car Bombs leaving the bar. The prices were pretty consistent with the area, and our bill came to $21 for two beers and two Jamesons. The staff was nice, all attractive, 20-something women. Right now, this absolutely fulfills the three-star "A-ok" metric for me - a perfectly nice place to meet up with friends, but no wow. I will update when I try the food. read more

Joe's Pub is extremely convenient and one of the better pizza's in Bloomington. While it's located on GE on the east edge of town, there isn't much competition except Buffalo Wild Wings. The wait staff is extremely nice, but the place is laid out funny when you walk in it feels like they wasted the whole first room and crammed everyone in on the back side. The outside patio was a nice addition though. From a food perspective, they don't compete with BWW's on wings because it is a small portion for the price but the flavor is only ok. You really need to try the Italian beef roll or any of their pizzas. read more

Joes is small and loud. The music was so loud that you could not have conversation with the other people at our table. It was so loud that you could not hear the waitress. Asked the waitress if the music could be turned down and she did not seem to think that would happen. It didn't. We ordered drinks and food. The drinks came out at different times, I guess because some were from the bar and some were not. Two of the food orders came out incorrect and had to go back. One order did not come at all. It and one of the orders that had to be sent back were the same menu item and we were told the kitchen had run out of that item and were preparing more, so it would take more time. I am not sure if the waitress put in the food orders incorrectly, or she couldn't hear what we ordered, because the music was so loud. When the music is loud everyone in joes was yelling to be heard, which only made the noise worse. My head hurt it was so loud and I was happy to leave. The food was below average bar food. My order arrived first and was cold. The burger ordered was overlooked to the point of dry, and was so salty it could not be finished. The portion sizes were nice. Not big but appropriate for one person. I was not sure if the waitress and service was bad or if it was the kitchen having problems. I passed along my problems with Joes to the manager as we left. Know it was Saturday night and St pattys day we knew it would be busy, that said we did get a booth really quickly. The 3 stars are for the many things they were out of at 6 pm. NO fried mushrooms, no bread for the turkey club and were out of some of the beers. We thought the price of the fried pickles was definitely high and when they arrived, we knew why. Large portions aren't normally something I would complain about, but this is overkill; we didn't finish half between 4 people. If portions were cut, food waste would be cut, and cost would go down. Maybe even half or full orders being available could make a difference. On the other hand, two of the four at our table ordered the italian beef sandwich and they were the tiniest italian beef sandwiches I'd ever seen. As for the wings, the smoked bourbon molasses sauce was delicious but when I think "garlic parmesan," I think of a GP sauce (similar to what you would find at BDubs, Mugsy's, or the late Wings Etc.) and I was excited to wolf them down. It seems that this is not what Joe's has in mind with GP as I received spicy buffalo wings with a little garlic and grated parmesan sprinkled on top. I purposely ordered sauces that one would not expect to be spicy, so that was disappointing. The server was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was nice. All in all, it wasn't bad but it was a bit pricey, the portions were wonky (way too many fried pickles vs. tiny sandwiches), and it lacked a wow factor. I give Joe's Pub a 2 out of 5 for "Meh.
