I got a reward sent to my email and I showed the waitress before ordering. At the end I still paid full price because they said I had to use the same card that I started the reward account with. I don't have that card anymore. So it sucked not being able to use the rewards when I told them in advance what I wanted to do. I checked and you don't have to use the card you signed up with. They should have been able to do it with the QR code I showed to two of the waitresses. It's too bad because now I will not be back. read more

Just ordered a couple of pizzas from Joe's and they were the worst pizzas I've ever had! I've been a customer of theirs for years and was shocked as to how bad these pizzas were! I hope they can get this fixed but I have a feeling they are struggling and will soon be out of business. All I know is I'm done with them and will never go back! Left Nashville early morning and looking for a spot to watch the Big 10 Tournament game between Wisconsin and Michigan. Hit the door about tip off time. Place was plenty busy with kids having pizza parties. Place was not fancy nor was the food. Plenty of TVs to choose from so we parked ourselves just outside the kitchen door facing a big multi screen set up. Started with a Cobb Salad with the intention of having salad and pizza. They had several pizza options that looked very good: square, hand tossed and the cheese crusted box. Salad was plenty big but nothing fancy. Served the two of us with some to spare. Boiled egg, tomatoes, onions, green peppers and cheese, but the lettuce was cut in an odd way and actually continued a core section. Blue cheese and an Italian dressing came on the side. Nevertheless, we ate it during the first half. We had every intention of ordering pizza but got tracked by the chicken fingers on the menu. Nana's giant chicken fingers were huge, the size of a chicken breast. There were 4 of them in the order. We decided on the hot-spicy herb Parmesan sauce. Well, that was a lot of chicken. The coating was heavy breading covered with hot sauce. That actually worked for us because the coating came off without much effort. We never got the pizza. That was probably a mistake. We watched the game and jumped into the car very satisfied for the rest of the trip. I can't make a recommendation based on the food, but I can say the staff was friendly and attentive. We got the Tavern Style thin crust pizza with pepperoni, sausage, onion, green peppers. It was fine. I prefer the Detroit style. The thin crust today need more sauce and it barely had any green peppers on it. They have a great selection of craft beers on tap. I love the Riggs Hefeweizen. From the storefront I was expecting a small place, however it was much larger than I anticipated as I stepped in. High ceilings, and industrial decor with plenty of TV's on the walls. I liked that the tables were not jammed together and giving people some privacy at the tables. The host was friendly and I was seated quickly. The menu has a nice selection of various foods, with one side mainly dedicated to pizza and the other side having handhelds, salads, wings and such. The waitress was very friendly and tentative. I ordered the horseshoe, Nashville Hot style and it was really good. We will certainly be coming back to try out their pizzas. Extremely over priced. Portion size and quality doesn't come near the very high prices they ask for. You can't call to get customized orders such as less sauce. The options on ordering refuse customer requests. Nearly $70 for a beef roll and 16" pizza is ridiculous! Could've went out for a steak dinner and been served for the prices this places is charging. Stopped in for lunch with our Redbird. The pizza was hot, crust was crispy, sauce was sweet, lots of gooey cheese, and the toppings were fresh. The Italian beef sandwich was delicious. We finished with the cinnabites for dessert. They were short staffed, but the waitress was very attentive. Good music playing but soft enough to hold a conversation. We frequent Joe's Pub on a regular basis and we are never disappointed! The service is always on point... friendly and efficient! We also absolutely LOVE the Detroit Style Pizza that they offer at Joe's . It is hands down one of the best pizzas in town! We find ourselves often visiting Joe's. It has become a family favorite when we want a bite to eat and/or meet some friends for drinks. Starting with the dough nuggets is usually our tradition. My husband is partial to the Beef Roll, while I'm a fan of their pizza. This last visit we tried the new Detroit Square pizza. It had great flavor and the fluffier crust was good. The only consideration is it is on the smaller size so plan accordingly for your level of hunger. The rotating tap selection means we never run out of new beers/ciders to try which is another thing we enjoy about the place. read more

First time at Joe's and not overly impressed- would have only given 1 star but their fried pickles were very good. Unfortunately that was the only item we were able to eat as they informed us after we ordered our appetizer that they were out of chicken- no wings, no chicken sandwich, no wraps, no chicken on pizza. So we were stuck with our appetizer but would have preferred to know what they were out of in advance. As we sat waiting to pay our bill so that we could leave and spend our money elsewhere, we overheard many other servers telling other tables that they were out of many appetizers and only have pizza. If you're out of something or many items in this case, you should be up front with your customers and tell them before they order drinks/ appetizer. So they aren't stuck paying for an appetizer, drinks, plus a tip. We felt tricked into purchasing. However I do want to reiterate their fried pickles appetizer was very good. LOVE their food, never had anything bad to eat or drink from here and has become my favorite local restaurant in blono. BUT their service could improve a lot. i've been here many varying days of the week & times of day - sometimes they're super busy sometimes super slow but always have mediocre service. as a fellow server/bartender of 5+ years I typically have empathy for those workers especially when i see they are busy. however i've been waited on by the same people many times and it's like they couldn't care less about the fact im the customer and the one paying them money it's like they don't want a tip. one time our bartender/server after taking 30+ minutes to serve our 3top 1 drink each finally came over and said "well i guess i have to take your order too, so what do you want" as if she was annoyed, like are you serious lol. this place would be perfect if the staff just acted like they enjoyed their job a little bit. also half their tv's are blue which is odd. read more

We order from here all the time. Ordered a Detroit style pizza & noticed it was super dry. Lifted up the cheese & there was no pizza sauce. None on top (as advertised) nor under the cheese. We called immediately & spoke to management - he was only willing to refund us the cost of the pizza sauce....Not to mention we NEVER GOT REFUNDED after being told we would. Update - The business has responded that they are no longer charging takeout fees so upgrading the review. The person who responded said that the fee was used as a gratuity for staff, which is cool. I always tip generously no matter what, but I just feel that automatic tips encourage and reward poor service and I have never previously encountered one for take out food. 20% for takeout is a lot. I have had Joe's several times over the last few years and the food is probably 3-4 star. However, last time we ordered from here, there was a 20% fee tacked onto the bill. When reviewed the bill and asked, the bartender told me that they are now charging this fee for take out food. Not delivery. Take out. At least have the dignity to raise prices if you can't pay for staff or materials, not tack on a fee without telling the customer. It's been fun Joe's. read more

I'll be specific here to justify my review. Prior to today, I had been to Joe's thrice. My previous experiences left me with these thoughts: good service, good tap list, mediocre food. Now, they have changed the pizza landscape in Blo-No. I lived in metro Detroit for a couple of years and fell in love with Detroit-style pizza (read: Buddy's). After moving from Macomb Co. to Kalamazoo and then metro Indianapolis, I found myself wistful for a good Detroit pizza. Joe's has absolutely nailed it. We haven't been OUT for pizza in Bloomington for two years. I love Joe's Station House Pizza so this was really going to be a treat. The pizza was delicious . . . As usual! Here's the rub. They have chosen to use an app by "Toast" for their in-house ordering. Really? An on-line style ordering app when your customer is expecting a dine-in experience??! Yeah, I've use similar apps from HOME to order delivery or curb-side pickup from Marco's, Olive Garden or Red Lobster. But I've never been forced to scan a QR code, create an account with a password, try to navigate a menu (with custom ingredients) and order drinks at a sit-down restaurant from an APP!? I had to call a waitress over three times to assist me with navigation. Each time I'm getting hotter & more frustrated. Bottomline: The dine-in experience was well below my expectations simply due to the poor decision to require customers to fill out app screens just to order pizza. Been to Joe's a couple of times- never been impressed by the management. Food is good, wait staff unfortunately takes the slack for management decisions. Not able to accept more than one gift certificate? Then, get the go on that but are told no way to let us keep the unused balance?!? Poor decision!!!
