Would have loved to take a picture of the food, but it was devoured before I even thought about snapping a pic!

What a pleasant little surprise. We were headed back from an event at Maize Valley and wanted something to eat. Hopped on the YelpMachine™ and it directed us to Irene's. Old school diner feel, lots of what I assume are regulars filling all the tables. Our three top had a very short wait, and then we were shuttled off to a back booth. I think there's one, maybe two women running the whole place, which made their speed of service even more impressive. Asked what was good, and both the server and a food runner said the cinnamon French toast. The server said, and I quote "if I could marry a food, that would be it". With a recommendation like that, how can you say no? It didn't disappoint. It's French toast made out of deconstructed, thick, gooey cinnamon rolls. It was so good, it didn't even need any syrup added. Just put a little real butter on top, and went to town. 9/10. Though the French toast was the star of the show, the table also got an omelette, rye toast; some homemade corned beef hash, and bacon. I asked for the bacon to be crispy. And they didn't disappoint. It also was THICC. My guess, from a local farm. Overall, Irene's was a fantastic surprise. Not in Hartville that often, but you can bet your backside I'll be visiting this place again when I am.

Really bad food. Period. Hard to believe that they would serve the breakfast that looked overcooked

Amazing !!!! The food, waitresses, and environment is outstanding. Anyone who leaves a bad review should just eat at McDonalds.

Turkey aviator was toasted and cheese melty. It was good. A sea of lettuce. The tomatoes could have been larger or more prominent. I like tomatoes. I've had a few different salads, some of their soups, and their chicken salad. All pretty good. Again, I've never had a bad meal or experience here. Service is friendly and prompt. Food comes out quick. Place is clean. Deep booths and middle tables. Dark wood. Light atmosphere. Nice patio. For a quick sandwich soup type of deal you can't go wrong.

We must've been on the back end of the busy lunch out. Maybe perfect timing! Not. Here's where it gets odd. It took 20 minutes for someone to come greet us once we were seated. We ordered a grinder, a chicken salad, a kids pizza, and a few bowls of French onion soup. It must've taken at least 45 minutes to receive our food. My wife and I just ate half our meals and headed for home to get our other young guys from the bus. I finished the grinder for dinner that evening. Around 9 p things went super sideways. My stomach was destroyed. I feel like my gut is generally pretty strong but this recked me. My wife wasn't feeling well. We looked at each other and with the two of us both in bad shape we did the math. Must have been some spoiled meat. I was up all night with all the fun (graphic) symptoms of food poisoning. Feeling much better today. Hind site is always 20/20 but I would never take my family back to Grinders. We should have saw some red flags but we didn't. Terrible experience. Couldn't recommend this one to an enemy.

Richard was extremely helpful and showed us where the garden department was located. Even the bags of dirt are displayed as beautifully as merchandise in a high-end store! After making our purchase, we decided to head over to the restaurant. We were warmly greeted and given our choice of a booth or table--we chose a booth. Our server, Josh, promptly offered beverages, and we enjoyed freshly brewed coffee while looking over the menu. I chose the BLT on a croissant with a side salad. The meal also came with fresh buns, available in either whole wheat or white. Josh told us that most people choose the white, which made me smile. The salad arrived almost immediately and included shredded lettuce, grated carrots, and two tomato slices with a side of blue cheese dressing. It was good, but the BLT--wow! It had more bacon than Miss Piggy could dream of. Unfortunately, there was no mayonnaise on it. I'm not sure whether it wasn't offered or if I simply overlooked it, but I added some to the half I brought home, and it was just as delicious later. I would highly recommend the BLT on a croissant. And if you have the opportunity, ask for Josh as your server. We were told we could request him, and honestly, I would go back just for his excellent service. Another fun aspect of the experience is the atmosphere. The place feels almost like a Las Vegas venue--huge, spotless, and designed to accommodate hundreds of guests. Despite its size, the service was outstanding. We even shared a few laughs with the dessert server. Speaking of desserts, you should see them--they're enormous! So, stop by the hardware store, enjoy a meal at the restaurant, ask for Josh, and save room for dessert. I highly recommend the entire experience and can't wait to go back!

My friend and I spent the day at the Lavender Festival at Maize Valley Winery this past Saturday…read more After browsing the many vendor booths throughout the festival, we stopped in the winery for lunch. There was a line when we arrived, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated within about 5-10 minutes. Instead of a traditional server, each table had a QR code that allowed us to order both food and drinks directly from our phones. We had no interaction with any server, we had one member who delivered our food and wine flights to our rebel and left. The system worked well and everything arrived quickly and efficiently. We both ordered the Lavender Salad with added chicken. The salad featured mixed greens topped with feta, cucumber, red onion, lavender-pickled blueberries, candied pecans, and a lavender blueberry dressing. It was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We both agreed it was excellent. We also each ordered a wine flight, which included four 2-ounce samples. I sampled the Sinfully Red, Mad Cow, Hanky Panky, and Redneck Red. I enjoyed all four wines. Most were on the sweeter side, while the Sinfully Red was a nice dry option that provided a good contrast. The Lavender Festival itself was wonderful, with plenty of vendors to shop from and lots to see. We also tried the lavender lemonade, which was refreshing and perfect for a warm summer day. One thing that surprised me was the additional charge to access the lavender fields. It was $10 to walk through and take photos, or $20 to take photos and cut lavender to bring home. Personally, I felt the $10 photo fee was a bit steep and not quite worth it just to snap a few pictures, but I understand it's a business and an additional way for them to generate revenue. Giving this review a 3-star instead of a 5-star because I felt the food and wine flight was a bit pricey and I did not like that they charge you to walk through the lavender field. I ended up paying almost $45 for a salad and flight as there was a large tip automatically added onto my order. I wasn't given the option to add a customized tip. I didn't even receive a text receipt to my my phone showing what I would be charged and the addition of the tip, so I thought that was a little bit sneaky and unexpected. We had the food delivered to our table. No other interaction took place. Overall, despite those two things mentioned, Maize Valley did a great job handling a very busy event. Between the beautiful festival atmosphere, tasty food, enjoyable wines, and efficient service, it was a fun day.

We ended up just coming in the next day to try it, and I'm glad we did. First off, all our food was great and was presented well. I love paying for great food and this place is worth every dollar we spent. Came out fast, hot and delicious. We got the Stuffed Mushrooms, Garden Salad, Pesto gnocchi ( omg ) and my partner got the Drizz (?) My Gnocchi was wonderful, I'm also a sucker for Pesto and Gnocchi, I would get again. The stuffed mushrooms were fantastic, never had them with Sausage before. I liked the house made Italian dressing so much I asked for some to take home and they humored me. I went to Costco later and picked up everything to make a salad just for this dressing. He liked his sandwich, he normally does not like coleslaw but he said it worked and liked it a lot. Our waitress ( sorry I didn't get your name ) was like a ninja. She had multiple tables and I didn't feel like she neglected us. The service is fast and accurate. The place is small, but I like how lowkey and cozy it is. My partner is pretty tall and he said he didn't feel uncomfortable and liked how quiet it was. Honestly this place is great and everyone should give it a try, we're already planning our next visit. This place put the other Italian places around it to shame in every category. Also, get the Limoncello, trust me. No pictures because we were too busy eating.
