His education is so extensive. If you go to his site and read all is education, rewards and licenses you will be amazed. I trust him for my annual body exam for skin cancer, he may find and then treat it 'on the spot'. I highly recommend Dr. John Ebner. Highly skilled and careful. The office staff here has become rude. I went to Dr Ebner for about 4 years, he never had the best bedside manner but he seemed competent and knowledgeable. I had 3 spots of skin cancer and they were dealt with. I recently noticed another spot on my arm and called to make an appointment. I was told " Oh he is not taking new patients. Its been 2 years since you have been here so that makes you a new patient. ". She then said bye and hung up the phone. I was not aware I had to check in w the dermatologist when I had no issues going on. This to me is complete BS. I will find a better dermatologist that treats people better. read more

I got into Dr Ebner today. I have been going to him for years. He sets the gold standard for Dermatologists in my opinion I am 65 and over the years I have always gone to the best Dermatologist I could find. I am so thankful to have found Dr. Ebner. He has solved a few problems for me and kept everything in prevention mode. He has given my family great care including Skin Cancer surgery for my Dad and my wife's Grandmother who lived to 103. I try to see him routinely twice a year. His staff is friendly and knowledgable and his office is clean and modern. Sometimes he is booked out pretty far, but it is worth the wait. Went to the Gilbert location. Never even got as far as seeing the doctor. I was sitting in the exam room, when a 20-something male assistant walked in with a camera and aimed it right at my face. No explanation at all. He just got into position to take my photo. I held my hand out in front of my face to stop him and said "NO THANKS". He did a hissy little speech on the way out about how he needed to tell me this is "mandatory". OH REALLY,JUNIOR ? Well, Junior, let me state here, all over again, how unprofessional, ignorant and insulting it is to just walk up to a patient and without even discussing anything or getting permission, and put a camera in their face. Talk about rude and arrogant. The doctors are responsible for this B.S., because they ought to know what goes in in their offices. Any office that INSISTS on photographs is one I'll never return to. They wasted my time as well as the fuel I wasted getting there. I should have sent them a bill, but I walked out on them and that was good enough. read more

I called to schedule an appointment. The receptionist was rude and refused to assist me with healthcare insurance. She told me call back when you have it figured out. I was referred to this office and find the staff horrible and I refuse to be treated in this manner. As the saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression. I have seen Dr John A Ebner on several occasions and I have been impressed by his knowledge and chairside manner. Dr Ebner always takes time to explain what it is he plans on doing and continues to explain as he does the procedures. There are never any surprises except for a follow up phone call I received from Dr. Ebner after a surgery. He stated he was just checking in to see how I was doing and reminded me of the post op procedures help with my recovery. I have never been treated so badly by a doctor's staff in my life. I saw a doctor at AZ Dermatology in September.......nothing to write home about, the visit itself lasted 5 minutes and I was out of there. Nice office, bad location......but the problem was when I went to refill a prescription for the third time AZ Dermatology had given me and was told it needed authorization. So the pharmacy asked AZ Dermatology to approve it, which they would not. I called to ask why....the first time I got a nice person who said it would be no problem, and when I advised I had recently lost my job she said she would send me another discount card, as the anti-biotic I had been prescribed was super expensive. I got the card in the mail the next day! So imagine my surprise when I went to pick up the refill and was told it still hadn't been approved....I called again the next day and was advised by a rude person that I needed to be seen before they would approve it. I explained, again, I had lost my job and medical insurance, and would they give me a months refill to get me by until I could scrape up the cash to come in again. She said they would not give me the "good" prescription, but they would call in a cheaper one for me. I explained that someone from the office had sent me a discount card and I would prefer the GOOD one, as it is working, but the person said that was all they were willing to do. AGAIN I went to the pharmacy to pick it up, and AGAIN I was told there was still no authorization. I called 3 more times and finally got someone even ruder than before, who told me under no circumstances would they refill this for me until I came in for another appointment. I explained my situation and also that this was not Vicodin we were talking about, that it was an anti-biotic, and that I was having great success with it, and would very much like to keep taking it. I was told again, make an appointment and come in. The woman grew increasingly more nasty, I was asking for ONE MORE MONTH of a refill, not a bunch, and she actually said, and I quote: "Well you've only been here once so it's fine by us if you want to find another dermatologist." I was so shocked I could barely respond...she said they would only call in a generic alternative to what i had been taken and I could pick that up tonight. I sarcastically thanked her and hung up, I was sooooo shocked and confused.....and then when I got to the pharmacy the generic prescription was not ready. The pharmacist told me that they had called it in, but then someone from Arizona Dermatology had called BACK and revoked the prescription. I have never been treated like this from a doctor's office in all my life. Stay away from AZ Dermatology....all they care about is money, they certainly don't care about their patients, ESPECIALLY new ones. read more

I have been to Dr. Ebner's office several times. I have had nothing but good experiences here especially compared to other doctors I see. The staff has been efficient and the office seems to run like clockwork. Dr. Ebner is quick but pleasant and notices little things. If he sees a little pre-cancer on me he has his trusty liquid nitrogen bottle by his side and zaps it like a boss. If you have to go to a dermatologist, this is as good as it gets. read more

I went to Dr. Ebner after my pediatrician was unable, after numerous attempts over several months, to correctly diagnose and cure a rash on my son's back. Dr. Ebner saw my son, immediately diagnosed the problem, and, when tests confirmed his diagnosis, gave us a medicated ointment that curred the problem within a couple of weeks. He's very knowledgeable and has a great way with patients - and their parents! The next time an issue like this arises with my kids or I, he will be our first stop. I highly recommend him. read more

Dr. Ebner is wonderful! He and his staff are very friendly and accommodating when scheduling appointments. I rarely have to wait more than 3-5 minutes upon my arrival for my appointment. The office is very clean and professional Dr. Ebner takes his time with his patients to find out what concerns they have and helps put their minds at ease. He is personable and genuine, which is hard to find in a Dermatologist. I've had several procedures done by Dr. Ebner who has removed types of potential skin cancer. He has saved my life! I went to see Dr. Ebner with Arizona Dermatology. The appointment was at 3:30. The office said that they wanted me to arrive by 3:00 to fill out some paperwork. This was our first time visit to the office, and we got there around 3: 22. The office staff gave us the paperwork, and I had two pages of just signatures left, when, at 3:30, the staff then told me that the doctor would not see me since I arrived too late. When I asked about this, the staffer told me that the doctor had been asked and said that he couldn't take me because he was running late and had a meeting at 4:30. I find this outrageous. I would have been ready to be seen only one minute after the time of the appointment, and since the doctor was running late he would not have been ready when I was. Further, if I was really too late to be seen the staff should have told me when I arrived, not after I filled out several pages full of personal health information. Clearly, my late arrival was not the real reason why I was not seen; it was used as an excuse not to see me and to prioritize a meeting over patient care. I will never ever return to this office. read more
