my experience with john Amato has been absolutely terrible they sold me car with over 7k needed in repairs refuse to help me put in a claim for the warranty they sold me with the vehicle when i purchased it nevertheless they called the cops and lied on me and said i made threats to them when i never did would not recommend buying a car from them if you can avoid it management sucks and dosent like to help when somethings messed up with the car you buy from them its all a scammm plz dont be scammed by them and end up in my situation stuck with 7k in repairs and framed smh. read more

Don't waste your time if you're a CASH BUYER. There's no such thing as negotiation even though they claim too. after taxes, fees, etc. the price spiked up an additional $4,000 in useless fees. The manager was not business friendly and very dismissive (excuse me Sir you're losing Amato not only money but also future customers.) Please bring back the old school car salesman with professionalism and better sales tactics. Do not do business at this dealership. I had a purchase agreement (an actual purchase agreement, not just an offer sheet) for a 2022 RAM 1500 that was signed by management that they declined to honor 5 minutes before I was set to close the deal with my credit union. Apparently 4 business days to secure financing "just took too long" to suit them. On top of this I had given them a $500 deposit to secure the RAM 1500. The salesman canceling the deal was completely unapologetic basically telling me "tough s..." The conduct of the entire sales team at John Amato is what gives used car salesmen a bad name. I've gone in for the standard 5 point inspection services monthly check up all that good stuff I've had my oil changed last 2 times here and tires rotated. They read me back codes told me was nothing to be alarmed about and may need a catalytic in few years. I got my car back after last tire rotation check up and my car was leaking something under the engine so I called and told me bring it back in. While I was on the way there the engine lost some power and it sounded very deep it had to limpmode around the corner to the shop. Said my engine is toast Ill need a whole new engine and it's $10k no rentals available. But I had warranty which they checked into. But it was denied due to some missing information on my part but they didn't communicate that or ever once tell me that I was missing a invoice or anything. Talked to the service manager Paul S. He took no responsibility or even acknowledged I had a leak or admitted I called about it. Matt K. was helpful but after a week goes by I get a txt from Paul S. to basically get bent and to come pick up my car asap they'll no longer pursue repairs with my car. Wouldn't even help me with anything he said I should take it somewhere else for piece of mind...I'm thinking man whata a piece a ****! Once I towed my car home inspected it over with missing engine bolts, the valve cover/intake 2 inches off, and a complete dead battery. When I called to make an appointment here for the first Jeep Wave service (no-cost oil change, tire rotation, etc.) on our 2021 Grand Cherokee, the receptionist acted like I was a wee bit slow for not just coming in for Amato's Express Service. I was skeptical. But since this is the closest Jeep dealership to where we now live, I figured I'd take a chance. And as it turned out, it was great. Service Advisor Matthew Kautzman said it would take about an hour, and it did. The waiting area was clean, with plenty of room to spread out and get some work done while I waited. When the work was done, I was pleasantly surprised to find they'd even washed the vehicle. All in all, this was the best factory service experience I've had since owning a BMW. I was in need of a replacement vehicle much sooner than expected and decided to check out the new Jeep dealership near the house. I loved that we were able to walk there. While many dealerships feature aggressive lingerers, that doesn't seem to be the case here. We worked with Indy, who was fantastic. He asked all of the right questions without getting aggressive or pushy and I really appreciated his style. We came back a second time a couple weeks later and he remembered us but again did not pressure me into buying anything. I ultimately went with another type of vehicle from a different dealership but would highly recommend you go see Indy if you're looking for a Jeep! read more

I strongly advise that if you are looking to buy/lease, sell, or do business pertaining to cars, you look elsewhere. They are unprofessional, unresponsive, and conduct slimy business behaviors. If you do business with them, I can guarantee that they are slipping in hidden charges and services that were not consented for. If you call them and leave a voicemail, they will not call you back. In fact, you will probably have to call 3 times to finally speak with someone who can answer your question. They are unprofessional in every way, and some of their sale individuals have zero idea what they are doing. And don't even get me started on the finance staff. Worst possible outcome on three separate occasions. Round one they broke a module while trying to fix my car and then charged me $150 to replace it. Round two, I had them order UniRoyal tires. When I arrived Sydney lied three separate times by refusing to answer my question on cost. She refused to give me a quote once they had my car saying "Don't worry about it. Then they installed the most expensive tires more favorable to John Amato's profit and Sydney's commission. When I confronted her and the shop manager they ignored the fact that she refused to answer my question for a quote while they were doing the work and demanded payment because as they said, the tires I wanted were no longer on sale. That's irrelevant as they were still hundreds of dollars cheaper. Round three, I had it towed to the garage as it would not start. A week later, $100 towing and $250 cost I was able to drive it out. However, the next day the identical problem is occurring. I paid $350 to John Amato for nothing. In addition, Sydney tried to charge me for add-on to boost her commission once again. When I disagreed she became rude and short with me. She lied that the car was fine and ijust needed to be run a bit. So John Amato got my money, Sydney got her commission and I have a jeep broke on the side of the road that won't start with the exact same problem that they charged me $230 to fix and a $100 tow. read more

Can't believe "Indy" gave me the key to "test drive" a $28,000 truck I never expressed interest in!! I asked for PRE-OWNED, he brought out a New. I said avoid specific colors that he asked me about & avoid certain models that I did NOT want. WHY did he hand me a key and say test drive this new truck? He had it already pulled up outside, turned on running and ready to drive. Salesman "Indy" thought he saw fool written on my forehead? Salesman picked out the color and model I said I did NOT want. He never walked me outside, just gave me the key in the lobby. I am unsure if that was all they had unless he told me to "test drive" what the dealer wanted to sell instead of what I came in buy. Instead of being honest and say we don't have what you're looking for.. let me help you find it, attempted to force me into something else. Said he's the organ player at church. Really? Since the state stopped having their own facilities for car emissions testing, it has been a pain in the neck to pick a place to go. If I like one (clean, efficient, and easy to drive in and out of), it is usually not doing emissions the next time the test is required (two years). So I tried John Amato on Green Bay Road, and I was very pleased. They take care of everything, so you don't have to do the drive through. The young man who handed back my PASS sheet was so polite, and gave me detailed information on what to do next. I knew, but I thought it so nice that I let him tell me anyway. Recommended for emissions test, though I can't speak to any other services. read more

If I could leave -1 stars I would. My boyfriend took his car here for the first time a couple months back. They informed him that his car (air conditioning) was fixed, turns out it wasn't. So he brought it back so they could get his part and try and fix it again. Fast forward a month or so, his AC didn't work at all...so he brings it back again and they ordered the wrong parts, so then he had to get a rental car for 3 days. Then he almost got charged another day for the rental car, because the damn dealership didn't return the rental car he had when they said they would. With all being said, this place sucks. I bought a truck from them and my contract and warranty is in limbo. every time I would take my truck in to be fixed to a Jeep dealership they said your warranty is messed up who sold you this truck. And I tell them and the dealership tells me I need to go back to them. all I say read your contract they said that they was taking a trade they took my keys. and what happened nexts 2 years later I get garnished at a tune of 10,000 from my hard earned money because they single handedly open up a another car loan. so now presently I have to pay out of my check for there under handed stuff. as a single mother of 4 with a disability I can't fight this. so I beg of you don't go and buy a car and if you do read your contract. Had my eyes set on Jeep Compass for the past few months since my car was stolen and totaled. My credit is terrible which is my fault clearly. I also had just started a new job a week before, after being employed by the same company for just under three years. That being said I knew financing was going to be a massive challenge. However I didn't know I would equate it to pulling teeth. After searching meticulously I found a 2021 Jeep Compass Trailhawk in the color Spitfire Orange at John Amato in Glendale. It was almost two hours away as I'm a Rockford, Illinois resident, but doable. I didn't apply right away because I knew my credit would cost me any chance of obtaining the car. As time went on though not having a vehicle had become a heft stressor in my life, so I decided to take a leap of faith. The first sales representative Marsha contacted me via text. I told her that due to my circumstances I didn't have anything to offer down. She told me she'd reach out to the general manager to see what they could do. She tells me that without anything down there's no possibility of a deal, that's fair in my opinion. I tried seeing what I could come up with on the spot as she did not specify how much down would be required, so I offered $400. She replied that my vehicle of interest would need at least $2000. I asked her about payment options and what my projected terms would be. From there it changed to $4,000 down with $750 as a monthly payment with an estimated 29.99 APR, but there has been no approval yet. Odd. I decided to continue because at this point I think I incurred 4 to 5 hard inquiries. Radio silence for two days. I got nervous and decided to reach out to the dealership myself. JC I believe was his name of the Hyundai location (it wasn't until later that I realized I was communicating with the wrong store) is who I speak to from here. Communication was very choppy and dodgy after awhile, but there was useful information to come of it. One I input my income incorrectly, two I was offered the option of a co-signer. Ultimately it must not have been enough to take a risk on me and I was eventually ghosted (starting to see a trend). Prior to his inevitable disappearance, JC said he was still working on my file, that no one one I was in contact with knew what they were talking about, and that he could make it happen. Overpromising and under delivering. I decided to reach out to the finance department directly. Imagine my surprise, or lack there of to hear that my information never reached Derrick's desk. Fantastic. Again I soldiered on, I was at 7-8 inquiries now. He eventually gave me his personal number and said to give it to my co-signer which was my mother. We went back and forth for maybe a week and he told my mother it was a done deal. Car payment was going to be just under $500 with $2000 down, his words. Something happens and Derrick is unavailable to discuss our deal. My mother contacts the store and speaks with Mike not sure which I think there's two at this location. They say they had to get into Derrick's email so they could give us the information we needed. If it's a done deal we had to make arrangements to go get the car. This person tells my mom that my car payment would be $514...still not bad, but unsure why it's now changed. We're told we can come sign the paperwork and pick up the car. On this day we met Andrew, he seemed nice enough. I told him I why I wanted the car and he takes me to go look at it. I buy my insurance and provide him with proof. Next up we go meet Derrick and it's not what I anticipated. My APR with my co-signer was 22% and my payment is now more like $530ish I think. I wanted GAP insurance for sure, but I hesitated; he told us it's cheaper through the dealership and we couldn't buy this after obtaining the vehicle. He tacks it on amongst some other things the he mentions briefly but doesn't elaborate. Love my car, hate the dealership. They're the epitome for greasy car salesmen that will ignore you once they get what they want. read more

I called for a labor and price quote only to have the parts department hang up on me because I didn't have my vin number (which was not needed at my other servicing dealers). Ashley, The customer 'service' rep replied back to my email about the situation, stated that John was working up the quote and then wouldn't respond to multiple emails asking for an update. I don't get it in this day and age. I was willing out of the convenience of there location to try them, willing to pay a parts premium and set up an appointment but they showed an incredible lack of care. I called Russ Darrow, got a quote within a few minutes without a VIN number and they were so accommodating and nice. Crazy world to think that you have endless customers to abuse. read more

Purchased a used car for my daughter in November of 2021 that they claim to have completed a safety inspection to be sold. This was not done and was not safe to be sold! The vehicle was sold with an extremely worn serpentine belt, bad breaks, bad ball joints, loose tie rods, etc. Shocks/struts also shot. $2700 in repairs. When speaking with a sales manager, his response was, "They could be lying and making things up" and then proceeded to say that there is nothing he can do about it. I went to the dealership after some online interaction as I'm looking to buy a vehicle within the next 30 days and I've narrowed it down to a Jeep. The salesperson was well away that I'm a serious buyer, but yet kept me waiting almost 30 minutes by myself at his desk while he was trying to play the manager game. Then, as they didn't have the type of Jeep I wanted on their lot, they told me they'd get one from IL if I'd 'show I was serious' by paying $500. I don't know if the talent shortage has caused Amato to not train their 'sales' people in sales and customer service, but this was about the worst experience I've had at a dealership. Bad service horrible wait times and rude staff waited over 30 minutes to be acknowledged while trying to get an oil change

I made an appointment for an oil change online last week, and when I showed up to that appointment on time today, I was told that their service department is "first come first serve" only. After waiting at an empty desk for a bit, a tech approached and asked what I needed. I informed him that I had made a 3:30p oil change appointment for today, and that I was intending to hand my key off for the scheduled service. His response was that their service is first come first serve only, and that it would be like a 2-hour wait. A 2-hour wait would be their closing time of 5:30p. I asked how and why I was able to make an appointment for a specific open time slot, if that scheduling option was not available. I explained that I had to leave work early to make the appointment since I work days and he said he'd talk to his manager. He then talked to a guy audibly 20' feet away who communicated to tell me "maybe in an hour" as he looked around the full garage bewildered. The tech then walked back to me and said there are online appointments, but it only works if you already have other work scheduled? The manager said nothing about a website and this guy had literally just told me himself appointments couldn't be made. The oil change special was prominently displayed on John Amato's website's home page, conveniently near their "schedule service" section. I am extremely disappointed, yet I'm glad I did not let them touch my Jeep, considering they claim that they don't even know they have a website for service appointment scheduling. LeRoy Neu Service Director was awesome, my newer Ram eco diesel had a problem. I knew I was in trouble since I don't have a spare vehicle anymore. LeRoy investigated my vehicle when I arrived (unannounced) He was able to get my vehicle in for service immediately. He also looked into any recalls. The recall covered all expenses for service that day. Its rare to find this with in a dealership. My wife and I just traded in our beautiful Arizona Charger with another dealership for a more fuel efficient SUV. That dealership treated us like crap! We are not from the area. Had I known what I know now I would have purchased from Amato. They truly treated my with great respect. Now that's great service. We will be back because of this service director. I've been shopping used cars for my son who is on his way to college next year. I've had many experiences with dealerships; good, bad, and ugly, but this experience was absolutely outstanding! From first contact with Jen Gallo, to sales person Demetrius Diggs, and finally Perry Lapatko finance director; my experience couldn't have been better. I was allowed to be alone and inspect the vehicle thoroughly. I got to test drive it by myself along with my son. I'm positive if I went in to buy a new car the experience would be worthwhile, this is exclusively my experience(s) with the "service" department. This organization appears to do everything possible to avoid talking with those "pesky customers". To the extent I had to leave my job once to drive there so I could get some status (you guessed it, I think the department was sipping coffee, doing their nails, who knows what and ignore any/calls). Leaving a voice message is a total waste of time, I had talked to 3 other dealerships the last time around (all in about 15-20 minutes) made appointment and got what I needed.... maybe 5 hours later I got a call back. He apologized (as they do every time in the last 18 months I've complained about this) as apparently they don't want to hire anyone (can't image this takes over a year). Other dealers at least let me wait on hold for 5-10 minutes until an advisor was available.... This place is quite frankly "something else". Maybe I'm simply a D customer (didn't buy my car there, although the dealership wasn't there when I bought it) and God forbid I want status before the moon changes phases.... It's all so disrespectful. The time I spend, simply to status exceeds the cost of repairs!! Unless you are retired, don't care about time, and maybe enjoy those lovely lounges in the dealerships don't go here. Heck, I had to beg them to change the plugs once (I could tell they needed the work) and the service advisor was apposed to it, I had to call several times to make sure and after returning to pick up the vehicle the technician told me the plugs "really were trashed". Basically if a computer doesn't tell them what to do, there is no common sense there and customers are always wrong. read more

I couldn't be happier to but my car through John Amato. The first time I was there, I fell in love with my car. They were so accommodating and willing to fix anything I saw wrong with it. Unfortunately, once my information was sent to the finance company, I found out the down payment was going to be higher than what I could afford. The original lady in finance said she needed to work on it, and see what she could. She promised me a call back in a couple days, but I heard nothing. I figured she wasn't able to get the payments were I wanted it, and that's fine. After looking at other cars, and shopping around, I couldn't get that car out of my head. I decided to reach out to them again. Shereif reaches out to me and let me know my car was still there, and that another finance manager had contacts at the finance company I was trying to go through. They were able to get the down payment and monthly payments down to where I felt comfortable. Derrick (the finance manager) came in on his day off to close my loan, and had all the paperwork ready to go. Thanks to both Shereif and Derrick, I was able to get in the car I originally wanted. read more

If I could leave nothing I would. I made the biggest mistake leasing my first vehicle with this company in which I was totally taken advantage of, by not only the Sales Manager by the name of Stratos, but the whole Dealership seems to be involved in this scam. I was lied to at the time of signing regarding payment, maintenance being included and who to submit payments to. I was contacted a week later stating that an error had been made in my contract and that I would need to return for resigning (total inconvenience). after being harassed by Stratos *via text* massage stating to meet at my job, my house, all this within days of losing my Father. I and was facing so many other life things to just stop in and resign was a total inconvenience. However, I stopped in I signed, and everything was good to go, so I thought. A few weeks later once the payment after the one they had sworn would be on the house had been submitted, I was contacted by the Dealership stating that the next payment would be made to the dealership, I sent the payment, I received a receipt. By the next payment I was contacted by the Dealership again stating that the next payment would be made to the dealership as well. Ok, Cool. Not really being sure how this leasing thing goes, I made the payment to the Dealership, I received No receipt a that time, but I was okay with that because I have my bank statements. Two weeks goes by and I am contacted by the Leander stating that my contract was 45 days overdue. WTH!!! I called the Dealership no one knew anything more than I did, I was promised calls back that I never received, and even hung up on at times. I was also told to not answer the lender if they called again. This seemed to be all the way specious. After receiving the run around for months, this issue is finally resolved. However, the damaged that has been done to my credit, after years of repairing, will take even more months to repair as my credit during this has decreased by the day. I would not recommend this Dealership to anyone. BTW the Salesman that sold me my lease is no longer with the company. He was a very nice guy, and the only evidence I had in the signing of this lease. read more
