Dante and Luis were great! They were efficient and quick. I guess I came 1000 miles early and didn't really need an oil change but did need new wiper blades. Dante let me know it wasn't necessary to change my oil. I went off the date on the sticker. They told me to come back when I was closer to the mileage on the sticker. Thanks for saving me some money! Went to try to get an oil change and my front door window doesn't go back up if I bring it down so I opened my door a little and one of the workers (hispanic, bigger in size) pushes my door close and says "roll down the window" so I say it doesn't work, keep repeating himself so I raise my voice a bit so he can hear me, he then says "No screaming here guy, do you wanna get on a screaming match" I was not screaming I said, the manager is there (didn't catch his name but a younger guy) but just says nothing. Never had Yelp before but this did annoy me and well, here we are. From now I'll just stick to going back to the dealership. read more

Stopped in to get my Tail lights changed out and it was a great experience. There were two cars ahead of me, and while I was waiting; Antonio came out to greet me and let me know it would be a short wait. As soon as it was my turn, there was instant rapport built as Antonio gave excellent and quality customer service. I felt as though I was in good hands and he also educated me on a few other things regarding my vehicle and the oil types. I never write reviews, but I came to this location on Monday for an oil change and I genuinely couldn't say enough good things about this team. Knowledgeable employees and genuinely the nicest group of guys. Somehow my oil cap must not have been replaced or screwed on tight enough the previous time the oil was changed. I'd had no idea because I hadn't popped the trunk in a while; needless to say, when the guys opened it, it was horrible. I was fully planning on getting out of the garage and Uber-ing around to find a new cap, but the manager, Armando, who wasn't even scheduled to work that day, went personally to get me a new oil cap and even managed to get a discounted price on it for me. In the meantime, everyone was ridiculously kind to me and took the time to explain what was happening and what my safest and cheapest options were. I can't even explain how much this kind of patience and transparency means to someone like me who knows nothing about cars. Armando returned with my receipt for the cap, and Matthew, Brandon, and Luis had the cap replaced, the oil filled, and the engine washed off in minutes. I wish I could remember the names of everyone working that day because, really, everyone was so helpful. I would have never expected them to go so above-and-beyond, but they did it without hesitation. Thank you all so so much for making a very bad, stressful day so much better!!! read more

I thought I would show how interested they are in taking an opportunity to right a wrong. Even when they tried to pacify me with a free oil change, I politely declined since I had to get a leak in my oil pan fixed at the dealership du to their negligence. I came to this Valvoline location the very next day and they fixed me up in a third of the time it took me to get my oil changed at the other place. Quick and efficient oil change service. Technician Sydney thoroughly explained and showed me the process. When I arrived around 3:50pm, I saw the Emissions Closed sign and was disappointed thinking they closed early on a Friday. But Manager James was kind and professional enough to go up to my window before I left the lot to communicate with how they were temporarily closed for a clean up but would gladly service my car within 20-30 minutes and for the trouble, offered me a discount. I appreciate the great communication and discount offer so I did come back in 20 minutes and they were able to get me in and out within 15 minutes while saving a bit of money. Just had my oil changed at this Valvoline and I'm in awe! The team made it feel like a VIP experience--seriously, it's the Four Seasons of oil changes! Friendly, efficient, and genuinely happy to help. An oil change is just one of those things you have to do now and then but the team at the Glendale Valvoline were some of the nicest people imaginable. I just read some of the other reviews and they must be under new management now. Do not take your car here! I brought my car in for an oil change/ transmission fluid flush and 10 days later my car broke down. After a mechanic looked at it he said the transmission was ruined and that valvoline was responsible for the damage. update: my claim was denied because it's a big corporation and they cover their ass. My car is totaled because my insurance for some reason won't cover it. My car just passEd emission's and was running fine before I had my transmission fluid flushed at Valvoline. read more

The entire staff is always very friendly and helpful. They point out recommendations but are not pushy, something that seems to be rare with oil change/car repair places. Do NOT go to Valvoline on Port Washington. They destroyed my transmission and took no responsibility to replace it. The "routine" transmission service on my 2018 car ended with a tow, no car for weeks, and an oil leak. They are the only ones that put anything in the car yet they claimed they did nothing wrong. I had to spend $500 to fix their error. Without Honda stepping it would have cost me $8,000 plus significant time and stress. Do better Vavoline. Quincy, the regional manager, did not take any responsibility for the poor service I received and the inconvenience and money this cost me. Never again. read more

Got my oil changed here back in August. I don't like going to places I've haven't been but I had a coupon and gave in. Wish I hadn't. Took it to my car dealership this time around, and they informed me that my plug had been stripped. Honestly it's pretty pathetic that the main service you guys offer can't be done correctly. I have been there many times over the years and service/quality has gone downhill. I'm not sure if there is a new owner but my last experience made me swear off any quick oil change places. The oil change itself was easy and uneventful until I started leaking oil two weeks later. I called to speak to the manager who said to bring it back. Turns out the oil drain plug was loose. Yep. I have never heard of such a careless mistake which could have lead to major issues. Now I have oil stains on my driveway and wasted hours getting it fixed. I requested a refund and he said he could not do that from the store. He said he would submit a claim but I'll believe it when I am holding the check. The strange thing is the manager's name is the one listed as the "bottomside" employee on my invoice. He blamed the "topside" employee and said he would no longer be working there. I have contacted their cooperate office myself but do yourself a favor and DON'T go! ETA: I send a detailed email to corporate and there was never a response. read more

The only reason I did not give Valvoline 5 stars is because my headlight keeps going off like there is a shortage in the wires. I had a headlight, turn signal bulbs replaced and a oil change done to my car last week. Now I am constantly opening my hood and adjusting the headlight wires and this was not happening before I had it replaced at Valvoline. I stopped in here about 3 weeks ago to have my headlight repaired. The very next day, my headlight wasn't working, so I came in after work. They told me they didn't have any headlights, and I should come back the next day. So, I came down there the next day on my lunch break, and was told they wouldn't have the bulbs for a week. The employee who told me this was there the previous night. Why didn't he tell me then that the bulb wouldn't be in for a week? I digress. I came in one week later and the manager on duty was able to get the light on without replacing the bulb. Of course it went out the next day. Im fairly certain they damaged my wiring harnesses in the process of replacing the bulb. These problems didn't show up until they replaced the bulb. I now have to go to a professional mechanic to have this repaired which will probably be costly. My major complaint is that every employee here seems to be on a different page, and they don't do a very good job at managing customer expectations. If they can make this type of mistake changing my light bulb, think about the kind of damage that could be done to my vehicle if they put the wrong oil in it? Based on my experience I can't recommend that anybody come to this business for any reason. read more

Ok, I don't know much about cars, but I *do* know a thing or two about friendly service, and it doesn't get much better than these valvoline guys. I went here with my a girlfriend of mine and we spent the entire time laughing our asses off. The valvoline guys must all moonlight as standup comedians because they are hilarious. Super nice, will shoot the shit with you while you are waiting, and worked very quickly. We got them to listen to Portishead for the first time. My gf and I wanted to get an oil change for her Grandparents and came in Monday Sept 16 morning around 10 AM. The crew was quick, polite, personable. It was also neat to see them working together and helping each other as they were rotating bays (there was a crew painting the outside of the building so some of the entrances were obstructed and they had to keep rotating). I usually do my own oil changes but in a pinch I would use these guys for sure. Also for just a basic oil change very reasonable. Kudos to all the guys working that day. read more

I went to this location a week ago and I Just asked for my oil to be topped off, I don't need an oil change just fill it up. Well one of the workers told me he can only give oil to there customers. I thought if you were paying for something you are customer. I didn't expect it to be free. They wanted me to get a full oil change before they will give me some oil. I go to Volkswagen for my oil changes and service work. I'm surprise that this location would not accept whatever income is derived by a customer. So I went down the street on port Washington to Take 5 Drive thru oil change and they filled me up and billed my there rest of 9.48. I guess I wasn't paying enough money for Valvoline on port Washington to service me. If I do decide to have my oil change outside of Volkswagen it will not be this location. Totally dissatisfied with the service I just paid $211 for. (And it was after a 40 minute wait.) Car was running fine when I pulled in; after an oil change and a new battery, the car is running really rough. Feels like it's about to stall out. The service people offered no real help. They show me what they claimed to have done and told me to take it to a shop. The manager said the problem may be that something was reset when the battery was changed. They checked my emissions right away. 2 weeks later my 2nd car was due to be checked, came at 3:45 on a Sunday. Sorry we already shut down our machine. "We turn it off at 3:30 on Sunday. Then today I stop by 10:15 on a Sunday. Sorry we only do them Monday-Wednesday. (even though the sign says they do Emissions from 9-4 on Sundays) I'm done going here.
