READ BEFORE USING THIS "BUSINESS" I would literally NEVER…read morerecommend this "business" to ANYONE. PHOTOS INCLUDED I walked in today, was given forms after being asked about insurance, rushed into a room with no time to fill out the paperwork. I was asked if I had insurance multiple times. Doctor came in and didn't acknowledge us (gf was with me) and told me to sign the paperwork even though he knew i hadn't read it yet. He immediately complained to me that this paperwork shouldve been done already. I had only had this paperwork for 10 minutes while simultaneously having to answer many questions from the nurse. I honesty felt like he made a lot of "sideways" remarks. I felt rushed throughout the whole process. Not talking in a way that resembled a medical professional doing. He asked me about my axillary. When i was obviously confused, he repeated axillary again. When i was still obviously confused, he rudely replied armpit. My gf was in the room, after my appointment she admitted to me that after her years of medical classes, literally having to memorize the whole body multiple times, she was still confused by him acting this way. Why would an experienced medical proffesional talk to a patient this way? "I dont know about your insurance, but you obviously have some things going on." He said this after he already knew i didnt have insurance. My girlfriend's main concern comes in with the medical paperwork. When we left we were given only one paper. It was the receipt for the "service" the business owner who was the doctor "provided." We went home and she said that we needed my medical paperwork and pointed out it was VERY weird that i was provided with no paperwork about my condition especially considering that it was a condition neither of us had heard about nor about the medication that was prescribed. We went back for my medical paperwork and they were kind of weird about it. Repeated several times that they werent sure if they could print it and that he hadnt signed it yet. In return, i kept repeating that i just wanted my information and they eventually let me have it. My gf's top concern is that many things in the paperwork that werent talked about and she only feels relieved we basically demanded to have it because we use many things that the paperwork says makes my condition worse. I cant think of anything else to say at the moment, but if you HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE but to go here, be prepared, stay safe, know your rights and do your own research. (Couldn't add the photos and it wouldn't let me delete photos included for some reason...)

Lafayette Endodontics - Ode to a Root Canal

I had a root canal on a damaged molar this morning. After the initial discomfort of numbing…read moreinjections, it was pain free and even the level of noise was minimal. I actually fell asleep (with no sedatives) and napped through the latter half of the procedure. The staff - desk staff, hygienist, and Dr. Fisher - were all welcoming, friendly, concerned about my comfort and convenience, and very respectful and professional in practice. They were transparent about the cost at the time the appointment was scheduled, and it was within norms for this procedure on this type of tooth (I am a health economist and epidemiologist and have access to good data on pricing to compare it to). I was referred to this practice by another dentist, and Lafayette Endodontics had responded to the referral and called me to schedule the appointment withing 10 minutes of leaving the referring dentist's office. All pre-treatment paperwork (except for signing off on consent for the particular procedure) was completed with a simple on-line form they sent me a link to and which required less than 10 minutes to complete as a new patient. I hope no one needs Dr. Fisher's services, but if you do I strongly recommend using him.

It seems super strange to review an endodontist, but hey, sometimes you review weird places…read more About 18 months ago, my usual dentist told me I'd eventually need a root canal. The tooth had been vaguely bothering me, so I decided to finally do it, and got a referral to Dr. Patterson. I went in a couple of weeks ago and very quickly got escorted back to the room I was going to be root canaled in (is that a verb?). Dr. Patterson came in and talked to me first, which I appreciated. We chatted about pain management protocols (he's very aware of opioid addiction and helping his patients avoid that), which I appreciated (although I'm not an addict, I have family members who are). He walked me through some of the specifics for my procedure, since there are several options, and explained the various pieces of equipment he was going to use. Overall, he made me feel comfortable with *him*, rather than making my feel like I was just one of ten root canals that day. His assistant made sure I was warm (they have blankets!), and we got started. The procedure itself was painless. I had my headphones on, I zoned out, Dr. Patterson and his dental assistant did their thing. Afterwards, it was a little sore, but nothing ibuprofen couldn't handle. I have a follow up next week for part 2. Three fun facts: #1, Dr. Patterson's father was one of the founders of endodontics. #2, Someone loved their root canal so much they literally wrote poetry about it. #3, If you have errant hairs on your chin that you have to pluck...wait until after your procedure. Your face is all numb, so you can pluck them pain-free! Honestly, I hope I don't have to go back, because I'd rather not have messed up teeth. But if I do have to have another root canal, I'll certainly go to Dr. Patterson.
