I found Dr. Pafford to be very kind, competent, intelligent and efficient. He genuinely cared about making my procedure painless, even allowing me to use my own earbuds to listen to music while he and his assistants worked together seamlessly. I can sincerely echo these words from past reviews of Dr. Pafford: "top of the line practice" and "world class clinician." Oh, and importantly, you get free parking in downtown Decatur!

They give you a free toothbrush and toothpaste in a travel size carrying bag when you come for the first time. They also offer select TV episodes to watch while you are in the treatment room. I liked that the staff weren't too forceful selling their services, for example the dentist referred me to a dental surgeon for a consult. They gave me helpful dental hygiene tips and my teeth are looking shinier than ever! I am coming back in October for a follow-up.

Very unprofessional and unethical practice. They lied about being in network with my insurance…read more caused so much inconvenience because i had to ask my insurance to send me the check and i had to pay the office separately. never seen a patient go through this! Plus, they charged me more than what the insurance allowed so I tried to fix and so went back and forth few times with the office manager. I left a message for the office manager to resolve the discrepancy but never got a call back. Few weeks later, I got a threatening letter that they will send my account to collection agency over $130 for something that was their fault. Not to mention the outrageous quote they gave me for implant. I'm glad I got a second opinion and ran away!

I chose to go to Dr…read more Kauffman because he was one of the only dentists in GA with a a cone beam machine, which provides 3D imaging of your entire head for sources of chronic infection, TMJ, etc., and is also lower in radiation that traditional x rays. For starters, everyone in the office was so overwhelmingly welcoming and accommodating. Prior to the visit, they even sent detailed driving and parking directions. At the visit, Erica did my cleaning, and was so kind, attentive, and brilliant to talk to. She was so interested in my health history. They even they took my vitals!! Talk about a dentist that cares about health!! Dr. Kauffman himself asked me extensively about my dental history, and asked me what I personally intuitively thought about everything (patient empowerment!). He told me how his views on TMJ treatment had changed completely in the past few years - it's so wonderful to meet a doctor not wedded to their old ideas. (In case you're wondering, he now believes physical therapy is more effective than guards and braces). He spent so much time with me, and provided a wonderfully thorough evaluation of my entire dental situation. He made wonderful recommendations. I felt seen, heard, and understood! To top it all off, he sent me a handwritten letter afterwards, thanking me for the visit, and recapping all that we went over. I'm so happy to have found a fantastic dentist!! If you're in Atlanta (even if you're not!!) I hands down recommend Dr. Thomas Kauffman, DDS.

This is a continuation of my dental saga from this morning (see my review for Tend Buckhead written…read moreabout two hours ago- spoiler I walked out because I didn't agree with their terms). I have a chipped tooth and Rebecca at Buckhead Dental Group was kind enough to ask a dentist at this practice to work me in on short notice. Rebecca is a total dear- so kind and sweet. She sets the tone for the office as a point of first contact and gave me every confidence my issue would be addressed. I cannot say enough for my positive experience. Dr. Abera was kind enough to see me and take a look at my mouth prior to extensive cleaning, X-rays, etc. This practice (unlike TEND) did not require extensive X-rays prior to even *speaking* with the dentist (avoid Tend buckhead!!!). My chip, as I suspected, required no filling or X-rays- just a bit of smoothing. I was in and out and the doc made time for me to ensur4e everything was addressed properly. She was kind and attentive, her assistant was absolutely amazing and sweet. I couldn't be happier and will bringing my entire family here for future visits. She even said I had nice teeth which I really appreciated! In a world where massive dental conglomerates buy small family practices and then make it about dollars, this is still a practice that has integrity and puts the welfare of their patients FIRST. They have my business and all of my recommendations moving forward! Twenty stars if I could award that many. Thank you so much to the whole team at Buckhead Dental Group for making me feel so at home and listening to my needs during a (potential) dental emergency. I was a patient Dr Lewis Freedman who reconstructed my best friends' fathers mouth so I went. Most unfortunately he passed away recently and his brother Charles has taken over most of his patients. I have been a white knuckle fraidy cat for most of my life. Had fillings when I was little with no Novocain. But everyone there has assured me that the easiest thing they can do is to not hurt me. And it's TRUE. They don't have a big flashy office with a lot of wasted space but it has everything. Their location on Piedmont in Buckhead was established by Dr.s Freedman's father many years ago and at some point DR Weitman was added to the staff. He works closely with their in house ceramicist which is novel in todays world. They are really like a family to me. I go in every 6 months for a cleaning and a review from the Dr. They have fixed broken teeth, done root canals, caps, fillings and pulled a tooth or two. I have the utmost confidence in everyone at this treasure of a find.

The new dentist confirmed that the root canal had never actually been performed. This negligence not only caused unnecessary pain and stress but also led to additional costs and treatment to correct the problem. Patients deserve honesty and competent care, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I had to get the tooth pulled after all of that.

An appointment was made. Dr. Vaughters took the time to explain the procedure and answered any concerns. Exceptional bedside manners, professional, great service. I needed to have a tooth extracted. I must say this tooth gave him hell. He removed it without any pain. I would most definitely recommend this practice. If you are looking for a more modern, updated office this is not for you. The staff is warm, caring and professional, they hygienist was gentle and talked to me about my x-rays and even took before and after teeth-cleaning pictures. I was happy she did an oral cancer screening and learned it's standard practice here. Dr. Wright talked me through what I need to have done and answered all my questions. Top notch dentist!

I hesitated to write this review since before the experience I'm about to describe, I really liked…read moregoing to this office...I even traveled an hour to get there! But I'm so disappointed in this experience so I have to share.... I went to this dental practice in March for an evaluation and cleaning. I was told based on X-rays from another practice that I had 3 cavities and needed a crown. I completely trusted the evaluation and scheduled the appointment. Keep in mind, the previous dental office only stated I needed a deep cleaning. I returned for the temporary crown placement...as I have never had a crown, I expected to receive an explanation of what would be happening...I received no explanation and was told by the dental assistance with red locs to stop googling the procedure since it would just scare me...still no information was provided, only endless documents for me to sign releasing the practice from any liability...that should have given me pause but I proceeded. Afterward, I was told I may have minor discomfort but no one told me to take pain meds. The pain after I got home was so intense, I had to find some old pain meds from when I got dental work years ago to allow me to actually function at work. Ibuprofen was not enough! After temporary crown placement, I returned for the permanent crown in 3-4 week, this was the worst dental experience I have ever had! It was sooo painful! When the same dental assistant tried to remove the temporary she simply stated like me try without anesthetic...when I told her it was painful, she responded you didn't even let me try and seemingly had an attitude about it! Dr. Wright came in, provided an injection of anesthetic without even numbing the area. Once the temporary was removed she returned to place the permanent...I wasn't given a warning that it would be painful. It was the most intense pain I have ever experienced...I was only told it was expected when I literally jumped and moaned in pain...wtf! After that was over, I vowed to never return...well that doesn't end it... I continued to have discomfort the weeks following...I called to report it about 2 weeks after and was told to call back in a couple weeks if I continued to have pain...it continued and I decided to see another practice. I was then referred to an endodontist who said I needed a root canal...I've now had 2 root canals on the same tooth and still having issues... The lack of information provided before I received crown placement is my biggest issue...not blaming this dental office for the issue after the crown but at least inform patients of what is going to done and what to expect after is the least that should be provided. Talk to the patient. Also provide adequate pain management for procedures...I still shiver when thinking about when the permanent crown was placed...

From the consultation to pulling teeth, the ENTIRE experience was amazing. I went in for a consultation, and since my teeth were impacted, Dr. Rockwell made some suggestions on how to get that wisdom tooth out. I trusted him from day one. I came back about a week later to get the tooth extracted, and he made sure I had plenty of medicine before coming in to get my tooth taken out. I was assisted by Ceena, and she was AMAZING through and through. She got me together before Dr. Rockwell came in, ready to pull a tooth!! LOL. I might be a little biased, but I'm Dr. Rockwell's favorite patient. I just want to thank Dr. Rockwell and his entire staff for taking care of me. If I had any concerns, they truly understood. Dr. Rockwell will make sure you're healed for weeks and even months before you leave his sight. He cares about you as a person before he sees you as a patient, and that's what I look for in every industry. Dr. Rockwell, please continue to keep up the great work. I was warned it wouldn't covered by insurance and they were right. My insurance paid a small percentage of the total even though I have some coverage for implants. So be ready to pay cash, up front, for the whole process. They were forthcoming about this so it won't a surprise. I had a number of visits and everyone at the office was super nice and I never waited long. Come surgery day I opted not to be put down. Dr Pumphrey probably wishes he had as I asked a number of questions through the procedure. There was some crunching and pulling and drilling but it wasn't bad. I mean you're having a tooth broke up and yanked out. I asked if I could keep it and he put it in a bag for me. I showed it off that weekend to grossed out friends! I was so OK after the surgery I went straight to Costco to get groceries and returned to work. I never took any of the pain medication I was provided. No issues at all after that. 6 months of stowing my chewing gum in my new storage spot and I had a new tooth put in. My dentist said Dr Pumphrey did an excellent job while bolting on the new one.
