Fraudulent billing practices!…read more I received a text today saying that I owed them $100. I haven't been there for over a year. They claimed that insurance rejected their claim for a cleaning back in April of 2024. They emailed me the invoice when I requested it, and it showed they had billed the wrong insurance. I let them know their mistake, and they claimed that since they had informed me multiple times (they hadn't) it was my responsibility, and they couldn't bill insurance after a year had gone by. However, they would be willing to settle the matter for $60. I told them I would be willing to pay $40 to settle the matter, but I would need an invoice mailed to me. They ran my credit card for $40 and sent me an invoice saying I still owed them $60! After that, they hung up on me and would refuse to take any subsequent calls. I called my actual insurance, and they did agree that this office should simply bill them and they would sort it out. They even called on my behalf (shout out to Anthem). I stopped going here because the office made me uncomfortable (daytime TV, yuck), and I was tired of getting nickle-and-dimed by their garage parking situation. The fact that they're trying to rip me off for such a foolish amount speaks to low moral standing of the office in general. Steer very clear of this dental office.

TO ANYONE ON A BUDGET WHO RELIES SOLELY ON THEIR DENTAL COVERAGE AND CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY ANY OUT…read moreOF POCKET: The Atlanta Dental Spa is located in my building so I was interested in cleaning/ preventative services out of convenience. Although the place looks nice and the staff seem nice, don't be deceived. My bf and i walked down and spoke with the front desk about an appt. I gave her my insurance and instructed her to notate in my chart that all services needed to be pre cleared with insurance before appt bc I am legally disabled, on a very limited fixed income, and could not afford anything not covered. At the end of Sept I spoke with the Insurance person, Lura, regarding my coverage. On the phone I also informed her about pre-clearing my services and she told me no problem. At the 1st of the month she ran my insurance and told me I was good to go. To me, this means that she called the insurance company and made sure the preventative services were covered. Otherwise I would've hoped that she'd advise me to find an in-network provider who did cover the care. But she didn't do that. Just a go ahead to come to the appt. Day of appt, I signed the forms, including the financial responsibility forms, under the assumption that I was pre-cleared for my services. Boy was I wrong. I received a $325 bill for services- which is astronomical for someone on a tight budget. When I reached out to Lura I received the exact response that I was expecting-- reference to signing the financial responsibility agreement and that it was my responsibility. How unsympathetic can you be to not even do the proper insurance verification on a patient specifically requesting it for financial reasons, and then surprise billing them. It's just completely dishonest and wrong when the patient is greatly depending on the services to be covered. I highly recommend finding a dentist that works in network. I found others on Yelp with the same exact complaint as I had- being told out of network insurance is accepted and then getting a surprise bill. In order to avoid this- find an in-network provider or pre-pay.

Following the cavity filling, I had a negative experience with my dental cleaning and had no plans to return. She was very rough but bo longer works there. I ended up cancelling my follow up but spoke to my friend and she recommended changing to Jay. Jay is the best dental cleaning I have had. They do not accept DHMO or DMO and they don't confirm your insurance until you check out. There was no intake or let us update your info/ insurance when I walked in which I thought was weird. That is the first thing that I've been asked to do but I unfortunately assumed that I was all good. Typically I have had all medical confirm beforehand so I'm at least aware of the cost. I had to pay $280 for a dental cleaning appointment. When I asked the check out about last year, she said I paid out of pocket as well which was fine. However I paid in full each time and randomly have a $4 charge on my receipt for a starting period of September. I had no appointment in September but I don't know why I was retro charged when I checked out each time. The line item also provides no detail. I would have cancelled the appointment if I had known so I'll be cancelling my future appointments for the year. To me that cost is too much so I won't be returning. I'll be reimbursing myself through HSA for the cost. The front desk, specifically the Caucasian front desk employees, should ask people their name and appointment time. That's front desk etiquette to me and eliminates any assumptions based off skin color, race, or gender. I'm not sure why that's hard but it was giving - I grew up in "whites only" and have not changed. They do offer invisalign but I ended up going somewhere else for a lower payment plan. They only offered 4 payments and I had other financial commitments so I wasn't willing to pay. Cons are the price, paying for parking and communication based on the above.

I am a Veteran and was referred to this dirty place. I asked Dentist Lottier to wash his hands…read morebecause they smelled like food, I should have never asked him that since everything went downhill after that. His team cancelled my appointments many times within 30 minutes of my visit due to the dentist not being available; If I didn't rescheduled when they wanted to they would make a big deal. I would show up to my scheduled appointment to get it rescheduled again since the dentist was overbooked or not at the office. My crown was placed by the tech and it lasted less than a day and since it was Friday I had to wait until Monday to get it repaired, of course I had to cancel my weekend trip but that was no problem for them at all. When I asked the dentist to do the procedure himself he acted as if he was doing me a favor and was not getting paid for it. He mentioned that he needed to order a new crown since the one in my mouth had a ridge an the one I needed didn't need the anatomical ridge. I was asked to come back again in a few weeks, of course they cancelled again and rescheduled, meanwhile I am in pain but that was no problem for them. When the dentist finally got the crown from the company that makes them he received the same crown I had on, he said he was going to adjust it to fit and started filling it down to fit, I asked him why doesn't he just adjust the one I have on instead of replacing it with the same crown, he left the office and left me on the chair for 1.5 hours, I decided to leave since I had other things to do. He also did an implant that hurts and feels too big for my mouth, when I told the dentist my concerns he decided not to see me anymore, I am looking forward to see a real dentist. AVOID this place, I have no idea why the VA is sending veterans to this dirty place, yes his office is dirty and should get an inspection, I guarantee they will not pass.

After a week, her crown fell off, and we revisited him to replace the crown. Since then, her pain has persisted, and we tried to ask Dr. Lottier to address this issue, but he kept insisting that the pain would go away. After a few more attempts to get treated, we decided visit another dentist for a second opinion. It is now a few months out from her crown placement and my wife still has constant pain. I do not recommend this dentist to anyone, and would not trust the reviews on Zocdoc.
