Dr "E" as I'll call him is very attentive, knows his business SO well that my appointment for check up and browsing glasses took all but 30 minutes. He also didn't pressure me to wear my glasses 24/7, or.... buy the most expensive name brand eyewear. It was just an honest assessment of where my vision is at this point and to wear my lenses when I feel strain (i.e. driving or staring at computer for long hours). I have VSP vision insurance and my benefits just kicked in, so I was looking for an optometrist. I would feel guilty about going to an optometrist appointment during work (like many do), so I decided to find one by my house. He is located in the heart of Old Elk Grove right next to the tracks. There is no storefront directly facing Elk Grove Blvd., so you might get confused, but there's a small parking lot you can pull into and he's right there! His hours are fairly generous and varied allowing for folks with different schedules to access him. Notably, he's open 6am on weekdays and till 8pm on Tuesdays. WOW. I called a day before and was anxious to get contacts and scheduled a 6:30am appointment with him. He was helpful and quick with his work. He is also easy going and very pleasant. After taking the eye exam, he instructed and assisted me in putting in and taking out my contacts. I am unsure about the frame selection, and though the area seems small, there are PLENTY of frames to choose from. This will definitely be my optometry spot while I'm here. read more

My mom has been going to this guy for years. I finally bit the bullet and admitted to myself that I needed to get my eyes checked/get glasses. Because they are closed weekends, they are VERY flexible with their hours. I work very long days during the week days, and I have weekends off. Because of this, they were willing to see me at 6:30am. I was in and out within mins. A few days later my glasses were in. Four days earlier then planned. Dr. Eliopulos is cool. Dont expect a large amount of designer glasses. There were only a select few brands that weren't to my standards. But, if you find a pair you like, he will order them for you, and could get you a better deal. read more

I have been going to Dr. E for over twenty years and I have enjoyed every experience I have had with him. We've gotten to the point where he knows my frame styles and he often has recommendations on the frames that will be mostly covered by my vision insurance. He's always on time and has a great dry wit that send me off with a smile. Also, I always have my new frames within a week. Dr. John and his staff was very friendly and efficient during this visit. I brought my 15 year old daughter here for an eye exam and our experience was very pleasant. Upon walking in to the establishment, we were greeted by Sonia and Sarah with smiles and kindness, which is not as common at most places as it used to be. We were seen in just a few minutes and didn't have to wait at all. We filled out a simple form and basically went right in to the examination room. The parking situation is good if you can get here when it's not too busy, the facility is pretty small and a little old, which is the reason for the 4 stars as opposed to 5 stars. This group seems to do well at managing appointments, so that's a plus. Having said that, the service that we received was in fact 5 stars as this was one of the best visits to an optometrist that I've had, and I've been to a lot over the years. Wow. I'm searching for a new optometrist since my Dr. retired. I am a state employee and have VSP insurance. Most places will be happy to take me on as a client. Since I'm noticing my vision is getting worst....I need to make an appointment ASAP!!! I work in Downtown Sacramento and get off work at 4pm. I can be in Elk Grove in about 30 mins since I do live out there. Called this place to try to see if they have any openings today just to roll my luck. Female receptionist picked up and I asked if they had any openings. She quickly stated, "we do not" click. *dial tone*. No offer to schedule an appointment or offer a future appointment. I don't have to pay additional money for eye contact. I like his honesty... I have gone to many optometrists and Dr. Eliopulos was definitely the best one I've been too. I made my appointment and was in and out in 30 minutes. He did a very thorough eye exam, then had me put in my new prescription contacts and checked my eyes again just to be sure that that was, in fact, my new prescription. I have never felt so secure with my new eye prescription. They were all very friendly, not to mention funny. A visit with Dr. E has always been the best of both professional expertise & homegrown hospitality.
