Requested a window repair. They charged $100 and sent us away with an opaque seat cover so WE could tape it to the window. Said they took the door apart and window could not be put back up. Both were not true. Husband had to go back to demand window to be raised. Then the mechanic admitted to breaking the door latch. Now two things need fixing. They should've offered to reimburse us the $100 for breaking the latch, lying, and wasting our time. Will not be returning. read more

I had a flat tire Wednesday morning. I originally bought it to tire kingdom on Nebraska Avenue. They tried to rip me off. You could see where the nail was right in the middle of my tire. There was something stuck in the tire that tire kingdom told me it had punctured the side wall which was a lie. This place was recommended by a friend. The guy came right out and checked my tire. He sent me to the back where oil frogs is. They were quick and courteous. They plugged my tire and I was able to get to work. Thank you for the great service!! read more

Very Disappointed After 10+ Years of Loyalty Our family has been bringing vehicles to this shop for over a decade, having spent thousands of dollars in that time. Unfortunately, after our most recent experience, we will not be returning. We brought my husband's truck in because it was taking in air somewhere. After their inspection, we were told the throttle body needed replacing. We agreed to the repair. After it was replaced, the truck was returned to us in limp mode, no longer running properly, because they had wiped out the custom tune on the vehicle--a critical part of how the truck functions. We spent two weeks calling daily for updates, often with no calls returned. When we did manage to speak with someone, we were repeatedly told, "We'll get back to you," with no follow-up. It wasn't until two full weeks later that John himself finally called. He informed us that the truck had been "deleted," and that it was somehow our fault for not telling them. Any competent mechanic who opened the hood should have seen the obvious gaps where parts had been removed, not to mention the unmistakable sound of a deleted diesel truck. During one of our earlier calls, an employee named Henry even told my husband, "Fixing this is totally illegal for us." That's something I was unaware of--and apparently, so was John. We were forced to pick up the truck still in limp mode, pay the full bill, and drive it home essentially undriveable. When my husband went to pick it up, the staff stood around awkwardly, as if expecting a confrontation. Henry walked out. He knows. Damien--laughing on the phone while discussing our issue was unprofessional and disrespectful. You even joked during a past issue with my son's truck, saying, "Bet you wish he kept that Mustang," after we had spent over $2,100 on that repair. It wasn't funny then, and it definitely isn't funny now. This experience has left us wondering--were you trying to take advantage of us? Whether intentional or not, the lack of communication, responsibility, and basic professionalism was unacceptable. It's clear that this shop is now focused more on quantity than quality, and the knowledge level of the staff is questionable at best. We are extremely disappointed, and heartbroken to say that after 10+ years, we can no longer recommend or trust this business. With all of that being said...Henry sorry for throwing you under the bus. Wrong is wrong. This will never make you page but you will know how we feel. read more

My mother had a flat. I removed the tire and originally brought it to Tires Plus right next door. It was about an hour and a half before closing. All I wanted was to have the put a new tire on the rim. The two guys hanging out in the service bay were drinking soda's and cutting up and refused to put a new tire on because they were "busy". I went next door to John's, he ordered a tire and had it delivered. I was out of there in about 45 minutes. John closes the same time as Tires Plus by the way. Never going back to Tires Plus. read more

Came in for a diagnostic to confirm my AC compressor was bad & they charged me 175$ non refundable for a diagnostic which is much higher then most auto repair shops. I had it diagnosed & I get a call a little later and the repair guy had the nerve to tell me it would cost over 5,000$! to fix my ac compressor! What a joke and complete waste of my time. I went in and got my car immediately then they lowered the price twice to 3000$! You can't make this stuff up. Of course I went elsewhere and got a quote for 600$. If I bring in the parts. Needless to say I spent less then 1100$ to get it fixed would not recommend these vultures. read more

These guys are sketchy. I called to make an appointment and get an estimate, the guy on the phone told me they were busy, but that they would fit me in within a day and gave me an estimate of $400 and told me they would wave the diagnostic fee ($180). Almost a week later,I call and they haven't even looked at my car. When they finally look at it, they call and first try to upsell me then tell me it's going to be $800+ I ask about the diagnostic fee and they tell me they don't wave that fee. I go to pick up my car and again ask about the diagnostic fee and they tell me they waved it by taking money off the labor, but the cost was the original amount they told me over the phone which included the diagnostic fee. These guys are absolute crooks they should be ashamed of the way they conduct business. I was told to bring my Mercedes 250 to have four new tires put on and the entire process was a nightmare. In addition to ordering the wrong size tires for the front and back as they take two different sizes they decided it would be appropriate to STEAL the Mercedes valve stem covers and replace them with the cheap plastic that you see below. When I called to complain about the issue I was told that they could not find them but I should go ahead and purchase new ones at a cost of $30 to myself and they would gladly reimburse me. I guess I should be thankful they decided to do the right thing and replace the stolen ones. Obviously they know that their technician on the ticket Colton purposely took them and hoped I wouldn't notice. It turned out to be just about $30 worth of air valve stem covers but if they knew they hadn't done anything wrong I highly doubt they would insist that I replace them at my own expense. They should have gladly offered to replace them and contacted me when the proper valve stems were available for my vehicle. I know it seems petty but if they can steal a $30 non-E sensual part imagine what they would do if you came in with something that required honesty and integrity steer clear of these lowlifes read more

I happened to be driving by and my tire pressure light came on, so I stopped in to see if they might be able to take a look at the pressures and be sure I hadn't run over anything that caused damage to the tires. The gentleman who was at the desk was so kind and helpful! He came out right away, checked all four, did what was needed to ensure the pressures were all in the proper range, and even made the extra effort to check the spare that was buried under the trunk and speaker. When I tried to pay, he told me it was a service they provide at no cost and sent me happily on my way. I would very highly recommend John Erb's based on my experience today! I dropped my truck off here for what I already suspected was a bad alternator, and even called them ahead of time letting them know that's what I assumed the problem was. They called me back with a ridiculous quote of $530 just to change an alternator in my GM truck (I ended up buying one for $90 and doing it myself in less than 30 minutes). Not only that, but they charged me $122 just to tell me that it was indeed my alternator, which I already informed them I thought it was. Needless to say, I won't be coming back again. read more

I took my car here to have the regulator/motor on my passenger window replaced. I was told it was a simple job and wouldn't take that long. Dropped the car off at 9:00. Called at 3:10 to see when I could pick up my car and ask if it was the motor or regulator. I was told they took the door panel off but didn't have time to take the mechanism off to check so just put the door panel back on. And then I was told I also needed over $1000.00 dollars worth of work done. During their inspection they discovered I needed brakes among many other smaller items done. Seems that time could have been spent fixing the window, the problem I brought it in for. At this point, I am not sure they didn't just park my car in another spot in the lot and didn't do anything. Oh, and the charge for the day was 144.00 for the inspection. Nothing done about the problem I came in for. Just really feel taken advantage of at this place. I will never go back there. read more

After reading the reviews, I thought this would be a good place for my son to bring his car since it's local. Maybe it's a good station for people with money but not for a college kid driving a $3,000 Honda. He was told he needed a new starter which would cost $550. My son priced it at other stations and got a quote for $250 and $50 for the tow truck to move it. John Erb's station also wanted $100 diagnostic fee. Erb dropped the price to $350 so my son had them complete the work. They should have given him the honest fair price in the beginning and my review would have been much different. read more

I've been to Erb's four times with different cars since I moved to Tampa 8 years ago. Each time I've been here they've diagnosed the problems correctly and did the work right. I can't say that their work has been cheap.
