Recently bought a used (new to me) car that had a coolant leak. I called and got an appointment for 2 hours later. Upfront about costs and didn't try to sell me stuff I didn't need. Once the issue was found, it only took a couple hours. Made sure I was informed about the health of my vehicle seeing as I just got it. Told me there was some wear on certain things, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. No "crucial issues" manifested themselves that I NEED to spend money on NOW or else my first born child will die. Basically ran a free diagnostic test the way I see it. Friendly and personable staff from the receptionists, mechanics, and owner. Even answered the phone for a quick question a few minutes before closing. I love to compare the "average" price of repairs and he has always been spot on or a little below the average charge in the bay area. Brian, The belt tensioner was making noise immediately after your shop replaced the water pump. This was before the car ever went to Honda. It was making an incredibly loud and obvious noise as soon as the car started. Not really sure how your people didn't catch this beforehand. You were ready to let me leave with a broken belt tensioner that was not broken when I arrived. Then you made me pay for you to fix it. Sure, you referred me to Honda since the engine block was under warranty. They did a phenomenal job with the replacement. Thank you for that. Honest guys who know what they're doing. Took my car into the dealership to get my power steering fluid flushed because there was a noise coming from the engine. They said it was the alternator, not the power steering system and then listed all these other issues (including a new idler belt) that needed to be fixed immediately. So I figured screw them and I'll try a local mechanic. These guys were great!! Told me it wasn't even the alternator (turns out it was a bearing in the AC compressor) and gave me a reasonable price and was very understanding. Thankfully it was covered under an extended warranty which they seemed to work very hard to make sure everything was correct and taken care of. I'll be going back with any of car troubles. read more

My car was towed to this location by my warranty company from another shop. The transmission went out on my vehicle. I called the shop to give them my information and I spoke with Brian. Brian was awesome. Very personable and talked me through the warranty process. Great customer service which is very rare for a car repair place. He kept me updated. They did an excellent job on my car! Thanks to Brian, a nice owner of the store, honest and very reasonable price. My car had an AC evaporator leaking issue and needed to be replaced, but the Toyota dealer would charge me for $2800, it was so so expensive! Then I searched and found this store offer me a very reasonable price: $1055 including tax for the whole replacement. No store in Tampa could beat it. In the three days my car was put in the store, Brian kept me updated every day, and fixed a minor issue (a plastic part on the dashboard replacement) for free. Very nice and highly recommended! I was quoted by multiple shops a higher estimate for labor on a timing belt job that was significantly less because The Car Shop didn't charge me for what had to be removed in order to get to the timing belt while all of the other shops tried sneak that extra cost in. I met the owner, Brian, in the hallway of my office building....I was in tears, after hearing from a larger car repair shop that my car would be about $2,000, and that MIGHT fix it. I was falling apart, and there was Brian. We talked for about 10 minutes, and once he heard what I was told, he shook his head, gave me a hug, and suggested I bring my vehicle to his shop. I had it towed that same day to him. Brian and his mechanics fixed my car for less than half of what I was quoted at the larger repair shop, and even did more than they were going to do. I cried again, but because I was so thankful and happy. I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE for my auto repairs, and have told everyone I know how amazing they are. I took my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 with over 100,000 miles to this shop based on yelp reviews alone. I had a list of needed repairs that included, faulty knock sensor, front end alignment, leaking front differential, 100,000 mile engine tune-up (belts, wires, plugs, throttle body), mount new tires I purchased online with existing wheels, along with three to four other items. The list was extensive and the bill was $1,800 dollars. Within 200 miles of picking up the truck the knock sensor light returned, the truck pulled to the right, tires seemed out of balance. The front differential service didn't even make it home before fluid was running out from left differential seal they had just replaced. Took the truck next to friend 3 hours away and left it. He serviced knock sensors with new harness and cleaned out area and installed new sensors, replaced upper ball joints (the reason alignment didn't last), rebalanced all wheels, replaced front differential with used unit (unit cost $260 / install $300 (Car shop quote over $1,200). Needless to say, over 500 miles since last service, no engine light, no tire hop, steering perfect. Though my service was extensive this shop solved none of my issues except engine tune up which appears to be fine. I would not recommend for any service beyond basic engine service. read more
