Title: Horrible Experience with John Holt Chevrolet - Avoid This Dealership! We purchased a truck from John Holt Chevrolet, and it broke down just 10 days after buying it. It was only the second time we drove it. After bringing it to their attention, we found out the engine needs to be completely rebuilt. We called the dealership hoping they would stand behind the truck they sold us, but I never got a call back. In frustration, I posted a review on Facebook about my experience, and within minutes, the sales manager called me - but not to offer help. He was rude, confrontational, and more focused on complaining about my review than offering any sort of resolution. He told me that since we drove the truck off the lot, it was now our problem, and they would not be doing anything to help. It's clear that John Holt Chevrolet doesn't care about their customers once they've made a sale. If you want a dealership that will stand behind their vehicles and do the right thing when something goes wrong, this is not the place for you. We've been told by other dealerships, like our local Ford dealership, that they would have helped us in this situation. Run, don't walk, to any other dealership. So called up there to see what time they close. Spoke with a salesman asked about vehicles. Then asked about the military discount that they had on there website. He said they do not offer it anymore. Then went and asked his manager. Still said does not honor it even though it was on there website due to the demand for vehicles. I said ok I guess I won't waist my time coming up there and will just go to Classic Chevrolet in Lawton. What shocked me was the guy says "do what you do" so needless to say poor customer service lost them a sale. read more

A couple of weeks ago I took my car in to have my passenger windshield wiper fixed. A couple of days after I picked it up I see a crack jump across my windshield. As soon as I got home I got out to see exactly what happened, and there is an impact mark right above my passenger side window wiper where one of their tools clearly impacted it. The crack across my windshield originated from this point. This was absolutely not there when I dropped it off. So I call the dealership and explain to them exactly what happened. Their service department will not admit to any of this. They are insisting that this was already there, out of fear of losing their job for being so careless. Despite the fact that just before I left, I stood there with the head guy of the service department looking at my window and wiper with a perfectly intact windshield. They are trying to stand on a false claim that the damage was already there. Their service department can't be trusted. It would be wise to steer clear of it. read more

I had been trying to get my truck serviced in TX for months and wasn't able to because they never have loaner cars, they would not even put me on a list! We are currently in Chickasha for my husbands work so I figured I'd try here! I called and was told they had no loaner cars, but they would call me in a few days when they had one available. A few days later I received a call that they had a car for me. I was really impressed with their customer service, I'm so thankful to finally have gotten my truck serviced! Sorry for the lengthy post. I would NOT recommend John Holt & if I could do ZERO stars I would. We out my fiancee's vehicle in the shop for what we were told was an anti theft issue. They hooked the vehicle up and ran diagnostic codes/test. Again we were told was still just an anti theft issue that just needed to be reset. We picked the vehicle up and not even 6 hours later it stranded us more than 45 miles from our house and we had our 6 children one being an infant under 6 months old with us. We finally get back the shop and tell them its doing the EXACT same thing. The next day we were told it was a relay module that needed to be replaced and not the anti theft issue. When my fiancee questioned why were told previously it was anti theft the response was "I am sure you still would have had the anti theft issue!" So after already paying $130 for the "issue" now we were quoted $813 for the apparent new "issue". They told us we were to pay for the part prior to ordering due to it being classified as a "special part". We paid $490 for the part. It charged the account on 9/4/2020 and it cleared our bank on 9/8/2020. When the part arrived they called and asked to set up a day and time to bring the vehicle in for servicing. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN THERE NOT RUNNING THE WHOLE TIME. Then over the next 3 days, we received 2 more phone calls asking the same thing to set up a time to bring the vehicle in for servicing. FINALLY, the vehicle is fixed. My fiancee & brother pick up the vehicle last Friday. The gentlemen who assisted them told them they had already paid for everything. My fiancee then told him that we had only paid for the part and still had a balance. He was persistent that the charges were paid. So my fiancee and brother left. Now we have since received numerous text messages from personal cell phone numbers from John Holts employees regarding payment of $813. In fact, one text message informed us that we WERE going to be there by 5:30pm to make the payment. That actually was the first text message we received regarding this matter. With my fiancee work schedule and my work location, there is no way possible that either of us would make it close to 5:30. Yesterday evening upon returning home I noticed a strange vehicle sitting in my drive way. When they realized it was my house the backed out and left. However, I pulled in the driveway and they returned. I got out of the vehicle and my children started to get out of car when I noticed the stranger and made them get back in the vehicle. The lady identified herself as Debbie. She told me that she was with John Holt Auto Group and that she needed to speak with my fiancee, who again was still at work. This is beyond scary especially with my young children having someone come to our house in such a way. At this point she informed me the balance of $813. I informed her that it was incorrect that we had already purchased the part and that when we picked the vehicle up the gentlemen was very adamant there was no balance. She told me that he just was NOT aware of what he was doing. I then pulled up my bank information and showed her where the part cleared and then showed up everything up to date because she then claimed they credited the part back on the 10th (I showed her again that there was no credit back). She then left and said she would find out tomorrow (meaning today 9/23/2020) what was going on. I told her to contact my number to clear this up since again my fiancee schedule does not fit to deal with this thoroughly. This is absolutely not acceptable. In fact I still have yet to hear from anyone there today. The vehicle was released to us after my fiancee stated we still owed money, However, it was stated no we did not. John Holt needs to get his employees all on the same page. This is ridiculous and as a family with 6 kids we have to budget and now the lack of communication has really messed with our budget. read more

I recently had my window repaired by the John Holt service department. They have recent renovations and had not marked the cashier's office where you go to pay and pick up your car. I had a quote of $345 from Firestone to do the repairs and paid $405 at John Holt - a ridiculous difference in cost. read more

Recently I went to John Holt's service department for a tune up. The tune up was acceptably priced. But my check engine light had illuminated the day before I was going to have it tuned up so I had the light/code checked by a mechanic. There was no charge for that check. He found it to be the evap vent valve and said the automobile would be fine to drive. I told John Holt's service department about the light. They said they needed to recheck the code by doing a diagnostic, which I understand, and It was going to cost a $107. They also found that it was the evap vent valve and wanted $635 to replace the valve. I passed on the replacement. I looked up the procedure on you tube. The solenoid valve cost approximately $50. An Ac/Delco part would probably cost more. It takes approximately 2 hours to replace.I got an estimate from another dealership of $225 for the same work. The price to RECHECK the code and I understand why they would want to recheck it but I didn't understand the cost of $107, and the estimate of $635 seemed to me to be a bit excessive even extreme. If there were some explanation for these charges to be the way they were was not explained to me. I understand that some have had a good car buying experience there but because of my service department experience I do not intend to set foot in the John Holt dealership again. Just as an aside, the inspection form told me I needed to replace my tires. I had just bought and installed a new set of tires 2 weeks before. read more

MY husband and I purchased a used Truck from John Holt. When we called about the truck we made an appointment to come and see it and when we arrived the truck was running with the air on. Drove the vehicle without any hassles, came back they told us bottom line, showed car fax and we accepted. Noticed a dent in door of truck and it had no spare, they added those things in. Financing was a breeze, took no more than 20 minutes, it was a great and pleasant experience. They provided me with all the car information before I even set foot in the dealership. Once I arrived, they greeted me with bottled water and had the car prepared for my review and test drive. The car was clean and tidy. The representation of the vehicle online matches what I saw in person. They didn't try to advertise falsely. They advertised the car accurately and supplied the Carfax that showed the history of the car. When it came to purchasing the vehicle, they negotiated reasonably, found the best interest rate for my loan, and provided me with all the quick and easy information I needed about extended warranty. We had an extremely inefficient & frustrating car buying experience with them. They were not knowledgeable about leasing vehicles. My original contract was wrong & they had to have us resign it 2x. They also stated that they would handle the turn in/completion of my former lease & I paid my final payment. Thankfully I called my former leasing company to make sure everything was handled, since my lease on that vehicle was up in 2 weeks, only to find out it was not. If I had not called Toyota to see, that vehicle would still be sitting on their lot & I would have been hit with an extremely pricey bill. When I contacted John Holt they really didn't seem to acknowledge or care about the mistake. There was no offer to get the vehicle to the correct place or anything. My husband had to take another day off to get this handled. Had they been honest/upfront we would have returned the lease & then still purchased the car I got from them.
