Don't tell me what your symptoms are." All he did was ask a few basic general questions and kept typing into his computer. He told me not to interrupt his typing. He insisted that I did not know how to describe my condition. He has 2 chairs facing his desk, but insists that you sit in a particular one so that he could watch you while he's typing. (So why have 2 chairs?) Every visit was more unpleasant than the one before. He speaks down to patients. His bedside manner leaves everything to be desired. If I could give him minus 10 stars (-10), I would. I was treated like an imbecile. He never suggested any definitive treatment and did not provide me with a differential diagnosis. He never gave me an inkling of what he thought I might be suffering from. He suggested that I get physical therapy from the PT facility that shares waiting room space with his office and warned me not to go anywhere else. (Turns out I have a vascular brain disease, not something that is treatable with Physical Therapy!) I later found out from other medical persons that he is (allegedly) part owner of that facility. What a shyster! As a medical professional, I would NEVER treat my patients the way this guy treated me.

However, trying to reach the office is impossible. I have left numerous messages for Asha within a two-week period, and I never received a return call. This first happened to me back in February. I left a message every week for six weeks before I got a response. The only reason the practice manager called me then was because I had left a message on the review part of their website { which no longer exists}. The office staff at the front desk is, yes, very rude. It's a shame that these are the first people one encounters when walking into the office, because once one is called to the back for testing or an appointment, everyone there is very professional.

I placed a call requesting help from Lana on 6/24 and do understand that she was not in that day, but was told that she would get back to me the following day upon her return on 6/25. After a lack of response on the 25th I placed several more calls leaving messages for her, or if she were unavailable to please have someone else get back to me. I was assured that the several messages were delivered and that someone would get back to me. I had explained that I was in extreme pain, unable to sleep for almost a week, and that I would appreciate the possibility of another medication or other solution for relief. I never received at least the courtesy of a callback from the office. I consider that a total disregard for the welfare and comfort of the patient and totally unacceptable.

He's got an awesome bedside manner, is also extremely knowledgeable even about my rare condition, he was extremely nice to my service dog as well. I had MRI's, nerve and muscle conduction tests and a myelogram (painful and risky). He promised to be at the hospital every day to follow up. He left for Paris and left me, afraid and in agony. A NURSE ASKED ME HOW I WAS! When I told her I was in terrible pain, she asked me WHAT I WANTED! I was freaking out that I was being made responsible for my pain relief. I didn't know what to do. I just knew dilaudid was used and was so stressed that I didn't know what was the best solution. I guess I should have said a morphine drip. I had to suffer unimaginable pain with only 12 hour INJECTIONS of dilaudid. 3 months later, I was still in agony and had sciatica. Another MRI showed the compressed nerve had gotten worse. He said he " NEVER SAW IT". No one acknowledged the mistake.(lawsuit paranoia).I couldn't function. YEARS have passed, epidurals don't work and OPIOIDS are not to be had. Medical marijuana in NY is limited and more expensive than most other states. It seemsdoctors here seem to be limited in time, compassion, integrity, and effective solutions. Interestingly, doctors have told me how cervical fusion would fix my totally messed up neck (which I know all too well) but after my failed surgery I'm terrified. Not being famous or wealthy effects your treatment and outcome, as does your insurance. It's getting worse, as are my neurological related issues. While I appreciate that blood work, urine testing, and a CT scan were performed, the way I was treated throughout my visit left me feeling dismissed and dehumanized. As my visit went on, I felt increasingly rushed. I was told that they needed my bed for another patient, and from that point forward I felt like the priority was getting me out of the room rather than making sure I understood my care or felt comfortable with the plan. I understand emergency departments are busy, but patients deserve to be treated like people, not like they're simply occupying the next bed. The communication surrounding my diagnosis was also very concerning. When I questioned it because it didn't seem to fit the symptoms I experienced, I was told it was being put down "for insurance purposes." That statement completely undermined my confidence in the explanation I was being given. I left feeling confused rather than reassured. One of the most upsetting parts of my visit was overhearing a staff member talking about me. I distinctly heard the words "she" and "weird." Whether they were referring to me or my symptoms, hearing that while I was lying in a hospital bed was deeply hurtful and unprofessional. Patients are already in a vulnerable position, and no one should leave feeling disrespected. I also felt that my questions were brushed aside instead of answered. I wasn't looking for an argument. I wanted to understand the reasoning behind my diagnosis and why my symptoms were attributed to it. Instead, I left feeling like my concerns were minimized. I work in healthcare myself, so I understand that emergency departments are busy and that staff work under tremendous pressure. I was not expecting perfection. I was expecting professionalism, respectful communication, and to be treated with dignity. Unfortunately, I did not feel that happened during this visit. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously so that future patients don't leave feeling the way I did.

Despite my anxiety about surgery, Dr. Gaudin's genuine concern and overwhelming knowledge of his field gave me confidence. Dr. Gaudin has a good reputation for taking the time to sit down with his patients, ensuring we feel heard and supported. His dedication, both during and after office hours, kept me well-informed and prepared. His approach was conservative; he didn't "force" surgery, didn't make any false promises and he suggested physical therapy and/or pain management as options. I ended up having a minimally invasive OLIF procedure and, thankfully, today, I am walking normally and pain-free. I am forever grateful for Dr. Gaudin's next-level expertise and remarkable surgical skills. Highly recommended!
