This house that my grandson bought listed agent Nathan Butcher was a nightmare! None of the conditions that was signed for by my grandson was met. They must have payed off the inspector. House had water conditions up and bottom, rat and mice infestation and there shit in attic and under house. These and more conditions that was to be taken care of was not done but Inspector signed it all off. Now till we find a good lawyer we are having to fix all the problems ourself at our expence. Run away! We were looking for a home in the Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia area. We were introduced to a John L. Scott real estate agent through a friend. Our agent barely worked to find us a house. Luckily, with Zillow, we told our agent what houses we were interested in. We had reservations about one of the houses for legitimate reasons. But instead of trying to allay our fears, the agent kept pushing us towards buying it. We could smell the fear and frustration that the agent was going to lose the sale. All of the "experts" they brought in to look at the house were either incompetent or had a working relationship with JLS Realty or both. When we pulled out of that deal and made an offer on another home, which his office was also selling, our agent's manager came to the inspection. It was clear the manager was trying to 1) distract us from working with the inspector and 2) influence us to buy that house. In all the property transactions I've been in, that was a first! In the end we didn't buy that house either. Speaking of inspections. As I was paying due diligence I came across Washington State law that prohibited, for ethical reasons, inspectors from providing inspection reports directly to agents without the permission of the buyer. It's a reportable action. What do you think our inspector did for each house they looked at? They gave it to them! For the second house, not coincidentally, a problem with the hot water heater was fixed when we went out to the site to meet another professional. In effect, the inspector gave the selling agent information about the house, which was in violation of the purchase contract. If the seller learned that, the sellers could have used that to terminate the contract AND take our earnest money. John L. Scott doesn't understand that, if they treat us right, we will recommend their agents and call them in the future. Their shady business practices are obviously intended to fatten their pockets at the expense of their clients. read more

So, if your looking to buy a home and need an experienced agent, Jill Estes is your gal. Jill did a tremendous job on the sale and the purchase of our home. With the market being as hot as it is, Jill had no problem selling our home within 2 days of listing. We had about 4 homes for sale in our development, and they sold weeks after ours. Jill came in to our home and let us know what was needed to sell for top dollar. We accepted an offer over asking price. Now, onto the buying process. This was a different animal since the inventory is limited and homes sell moments they're listed. Jill provided us a list of homes weekly, sometimes daily. Jill would meet up with us and have a plan in place. After about a dozen homes toured, we found the one for my family. Jill is a extremely paitient individual (We were picky on what we wanted) We put in a strong offer on a listing that had multiple offers. 2 days later, our offer was the one. Yeah us! I do not recommend Using Helen Nguyen for your real estate needs. We closed on a home a few weeks ago that she had listed. She was extremely slow to respond throughout the entire contract to close process, even exceeding deadlines. She has yet to remove her sign from our yard and it's been more than 5 weeks since we closed. I have asked her repeatedly to come and get it, but it's still here. I even told her my husband would be disposing of it and still got no response from her. At this point, I'll be having my contractor remove it and will send her the bill. On another note, her sellers left our home in such filth that we are having to spend thousands of dollars to correct the damage (we couldn't even shower in our new home until we replaced the tubs/showers). Helen has been absolutely no help in getting anything worked out with the sellers. Based on my personal experience with Helen, I do NOT recommend working with her. Back in November, my husband and I started to look into buying a house. We contacted Ramon Gutierrez and he has been so nice and helpful. We first were looking into buying a house in the Kent area but then decided that we would rather live closer to the Sound. Ramon was very patient and helped find some houses that we could go look at. We just went one day because the third one was the one we wanted to make an offer on. Dan was the seller's broker. Everything had not been inspected since 1995. He tried to convince us that the house was fine which included misrepresenting a hot tub as a working hot tub that hadn't worked in years as learned about Dan as well as the HVAC, well, septic, propane fireplace as well as the water softener. But, Dan didn't want hear about all the stated nonworking items or he would need to disclose them in his advertising. The property (570 E Catfish, Shelton). I disclosed them as he would not. I also have written documentation to prove that he lied just for a sale. Another pending buyer disappeared such as myself. Hopefully, we are the last of the lies perpetrated by Dan. I am a first time home buyer who doesn't have a clue about the homebuying process. DO NOT GO HERE if you are not already savvy about real estate. Please be wary of Laura Pagel especially. She was very nonchalant about any and all of my concerns throughout the transaction. She constantly made me feel as if "my" concerns were no big deal. I definitely gave her the benefit of the doubt and stuck with her through the purchase. However, when I FINALLY closed and it was time to pick up my keys she actually had the nerve to call me around 2pm and let me know she would be leaving my keys at the front desk for me to pick up at my convenience! WHAT! Other realtors I have spoken with say it is the joy of seeing the homeowner's face upon being handed their keys that keeps them in the business. It really took away from my excitement to have to pick up my keys from some no name person who didn't even know she was handing me the keys to my very first house. Also, LAura assured me that she would give me all these referrals for different things such such as carpet installation. After the sale closed (i.e. she got her money) then I was no longer even a little bit important to her. I honestly hate that she even got paid for a transaction initiated by me. In addition, I noticed my refridgerator was not working the day I moved in. When I called LAura she basically said nonchalantly, " Well let me know what happens." What!!! Witch I'll pap u. I could go on and on but I think I've made my point. Needless to say, I will never use this office again and I definitely won't be sending any referrals Laura Pagel's way. read more

I just completed a purchase of a home in the Everett area using a John L Scott realtor. I requested a difficult contract be negotiated on my behalf. Although the John L Scott realtor was eventually able to negotiate my request, it required a lot of pushing on my part. And, after the contract was signed by all parties, the seller broke the contract. John L Scott did not assist me, the buyer, in enforcing the contract at all. They allowed the buyer to break the contract, which in turn cost me a lot of money, time, and unnecessary stress. At every turn, I felt like my realtor was more on the side of the seller and more interested in making a sale than in supporting my requests as a buyer. Would not recommend this realty company if you are looking for a supportive realtor in your buying process. read more

I was really worried about the process being stressful when we first began our house buying journey. After my first conversation with Rufus any concerns I had immediately went away. Apparently the person I sold my house to and I shared a home for a few days?! I sold my house, which closed May 31st, 2017, and when arriving on May 30th to grab the last of my things I noticed the buyer had left a couple small things on the front porch and although I found it a little odd I let it go until my neighbor informed me my buyer (using a John L Scott Everett agent) was given the keys to my house several days prior to closing and not only went in my home herself but had given her grandchild the key to walk over and give a self guided tour. When my broker reached out to the buyers John L Scott agent they were dumbfounded, not that she had the keys, they admitted to giving them to her early but they told her she cannot use them until the house closes.. ummm?! Apparently you can be super lazy and still get over 10k of the sellers earnings. Needless to say this will be reported to the MLS. read more
