I can not say enough about this optometrist office. The staff and doctors are always great. Very easy and smooth process every time I go in. My husband who also goes to Dr Boscia's office for exams and glasses, broke the one arm of his glasses. I stopped I expecting to drop them off and wait to hear back. I just switched to this office - I had been seeing Dr. Rosati at Bethlehem Eye for years when i didn't have vision insurance and just paid out of pocket - I found this office randomly through my insurance provider's website. I was able to make an appointment that fit my schedule about 3 weeks out. New patient paperwork was available online to streamline my check in. I saw Dr. Bartholomew. She was very friendly & thorough. When she found something that was just a little off, she was very reassuring that it was probably nothing but did encourage me to make an appointment with a specialist (and her office offered to make the appointment on my behalf). They have the latest equipment available and use it well. I choose to have the standard dilation instead of the retinal mapping (wasn't covered by my vision plan), but it's definitely a great option to avoid being in sunglasses for hours :) Very, very impressed! On my initial visit with my daughter, everyone was very professional, however, making a second appointment was horrible. Not only did they fail to enter my appointment properly (I had scheduled for me AND my daughter), but they fought with me before correcting the problem! Then, when I got there, they told me that my insurance wasn't accepted, even after they had been given all details ON THE PHONE, more than once. Wasted my time and my day off. I did not yell or curse, but I did tell the staff that they should've taken the initiative prior to me coming in to follow up on my insurance, but they didn't like that. Two hours later, Dr. Boscia called me and told me that "patients like me" are not welcomed in his office. What kind of patients? One on Medicaid?? He told me we were a waste of two "valuable" appointment slots. Very unethical! I will be reporting to the proper board!! read more

This is the best optometrist's office I have been to not only in the Lehigh Valley but in New York. The front desk personnel are a delight to deal with. Dr Lori Bartholemew is both caring & thorough. Impressed with this office. State of the art equipment, well staffed, gorgeous decor and outstanding selection of eyewear. Dr Williams was my optometrist and Ruth helped me find frames - highly recommended both! Great location with ample parking. My only feedback for improvement would be that there are a lot of employees and they do talk to each other sometimes quite loudly. I like the doctors in the office. They seem very concerned. I have been a patient for the past 5 years. Every time I make an appt. or talk on the phone with the skinny receptionist she is very unfriendly and short with your requests for an appt. I also find this office is very expensive. I switch to this office do to accepting my insurance but I am still paying a lot out of pocket over what I would pay at another office. read more

Hi, My wife went to see Dr. John P. Boscia she has talked very highly of him and has told me to set up an appointment with him. She has seen Dr. Boscia before and then she was sad when her insurance at work was switched and it was not accepted by Dr. John P. Boscia. She really liked the service John Boscia provides with her eyes. She said really likes this doctor. My wife had such a problem with the receptionist. She called and asked if they accept her insurance. She looked online and saw her insurance is accepted by Dr. John P. Boscia. She contacted the office to make sure and the receptionist said yes multiple times in regards to if her insurance is accepted by Dr. John P. Boscia. We do have good insurance. When she went there, she told me the receptionist was very rude and not professional at all. On top of looking on line, called to make sure her insurance was accepted and was told yes the receptionist still charged her $180.00...... If this is how you treat your customers it makes me wonder what other patients are going through. If you are a business and your business is based on word of mouth then I will give negative marks to this business. A business is looked as a whole not in parts. So seeing what my wife went through no I don't think I will be setting an appointment with Dr. John P. Boscia at this time. I found Boscia's office when I searched on the web for a particular style of frames that I had seen, and wanted to know where to find them locally. I dropped in to ask about these particular frames, and saw immediately that they have a huge selection of very fashionable frames. Even though my prescription was not from their office, they were very friendly, and willing to help me find something I liked. They did not have the specific frame I was looking for, although they do carry that brand, so they ordered it in for me in 2 different colors! When it came in, I tried it on, and they helped me decide which looked best. The prices are very fair for a top quality pair of glasses, in terms of lens, frame, fashion etc. I am sensitive to price, as I do not have vision insurance and pay for my glasses out of pocket. Would totally recommend this office, and will go there next time for my exam. read more
