Dr. Getsos recommended two lung scans, 5 months apart. I told him I am leaving for 6 months so we scheduled the review of the second lung scan a few days before we left NYC. The secretary just called and said the doc cancelled the appoint and is not available in the few days before we leave. So I have to wait 6 months to get a review from him. Really bad. Thoughtless and inconsiderate. I am changing internists. read more

The top of the unprofessionalism and dishonesty. Few months ago I was just arriving from Europe with no real clue of the medical system here and I just wanted to have a routine check and went to Dr Getsos. After few minutes, despite me saying I dont need additional test, the Doctor almost forced me to take some blood/urine tests which I did not wanted or needed (results proved it..), arguing it will not cost me a penny just the insurance.. it proves also the mentality of overcharging the insurance... So at the end I did the test and received a 330 dollars bill to pay. Since then I have challenged, called, emailed etc.. and just received very rude answers from his PA like "did you really believed something was free in NY" or hanging off on me when I was insisting to get explanation. The doctor (if we can call him that...) has never called back or answered my email. I am sure he is pushing the same scam to every patients (I can even say clients in that case) Crooks there is no other word. Avoid the place at all cost read more

I'v been going to Dr Getsos for years. He has not only been everything you would expect from a UES doctor (with ZERO EGO), but he is more. He has returned my calls on weekends when I had a scare or 2 over the years. He has also seen me during the year I was without insurance and had issues finding a job after getting laid off. As Im reading the reviews online I see that everyone agrees with me, and I agree with everyone who is saying his front desk is a team of 9Mother in Laws who talk to you like you ain't shit). There are 2 of them. One is a Bitch, and the other one (Rose) is like her name a dessert Rose! So if you call (you should) Simply do what I do. "Can I speak to Rose" IV NEVER made a concession like this in my commerce, but the good outweighs the Bitch. Its so worth it, Im over here writing Yelp reviews on a unclaimed Yelp page for his business. He should claim it. Address the posts. My wife and I saw Dr. Getsos for the first time last week. To sum it up, it was the best experience we have ever had from an M.D. Ever. Did many tests, chest x-ray, EKG, sonogram, blood work, etc etc. He explained all the results, listened to questions, took his time to answer and he is as good an M.D. as you will ever find. My wife is equally impressed with the medical care/exam/etc we received from Dr. Getsos. His staff was the same. Yes, they are busy but they took the time to listen and to answer all questions. Tried to schedule an appointment for 2 weeks now. Both Maria and Rose are the absolute worst! Very rude. Both lack professionalism and are completely condescending over the phone. News flash, if you can't handle your job and have a nasty attitude- do not work at a place where you need to provide quality customer service. Sad that Dr. Getsos came highly recommended but due to the poor service, I will go somewhere else. Similar experience to other reviewers--allocate a good 2-2.5hrs to get through all the testing of a general checkup. The staff was very friendly--both front desk and nurses. Dr. Getsos was very kind and very informative on the results of each of the tests he ran and what he was looking for on each one. read more

Yes, Getsos could be great but his staff is not. The front office staff both obviously hate their jobs.

Front desk completely screwed up my appointment date and time (I needed a specific day of the week as that is my day off--I never would have picked the day the secretary said I missed). She got defensive and said "Well, you must have screwed up!" (unbelievable, I know). After inquiring if it was possible there was a screw up on their end she actually got loud and combative with me (why so defensive, chica?). No accountability or customer service skills here. The behavior was shocking to be honest. Dr. Getsos, we would love to see you as you personally have great reviews, but the unprofessional nature of your office staff is making it literally impossible. Please read the other Yelp and Google reviews online and realize that you are employing staff that would do better in a street fight than representing your professional services. read more

DR.Getsos is a AMAZINGGGG Doctor unfortunately his front desk staff aren't very professional. especially Rosa! I have had to call to set up an appointment and Rosa has been very very Nasty its ashame since ive been to this office so many time in the past and always have had very positive things to say about everyone. I am not a difficult person I also work in a clinic and my Patients are very important to me I know sometimes you come across difficult patients but its the field we chose to work in. If you know you cant deal with the Public then this isint the field for you! Not sure if Dr Getsos or the other doctors in this office realize all the bad reviews on the staff. MAYBE ONCE HE GETS ENOUGH COMPLAINS THEY WILL DO SOMETHING..since its something that can make patients go else where. read more

Dr. Getsos is knowledgeable and offers good information; however, his office staff are below standard and offer poor customer service, do not respond to calls/emails and it wasn't until 2 weeks after my appointment that I received my test results. I don't recommend if you're looking for good customer service and timely responses. Either Dr. Getsos should do a better job at business management or replace some of his office staff. read more

Dr. Getsos is a great primary care doctor. I felt very comfortable with him and his staff. The staff are all very nice and friendly. My one issues would be the amount of waiting time for a visit. It can take a good 2 hours to get through all general testing. Overall though, I would recommend Dr. getsos and his teamf or anyone looking for a primary care doctor in the Manhattan area. read more

While Dr. Getsos is great, his secretary who works the front desk is an absolutely awful human being. Extremely rude and unhelpful and has a serious attitude problem. I recently called about getting a referral that I didn't know I needed and she had such an attitude she was almost yelling at me. She made me feel extremely uncomfortable and talked down to me about a mix up that was not even my fault. I find this sort of treatment extremely unacceptable. If you do not have the people person skills to manage a front desk than you should not be doing that job. Patience and understanding goes a long way. His secretary needs a serious reality check and needs to get off her high horse and find a new job more fitting to her toxic personality.
