When I looked for the best and most reliable moving company I could find for our move I found John Q Moving, I read all of his reviews and checked out other companies got a few quotes and I choice John. We had John and his crew move us last Saturday at 8:30 AM. They arrived 15 minutes early! John had a very good energy about him, him and his crew were very kind and professional. I could tell they were skilled and took their job very seriously paying special attention to every item big and small. From way the quickly made a strategy plan and very quickly put it in to play. They were so quick and so careful even just the way they placed a table down paying very close attention to not put any a single leg down first as that could cause it to snap they would place it down on all fours with extra care. These guys new what they were doing! At the new place we were worried about our carpets that had just been cleaned but John had the prefect equipment easily and quickly ready to roll out to protect our carpets and floors. We were VERY impressed! Moving is normally a very stressful time and this time I am also 7 months pregnant! Thanks to John and his crew I did not have to worry about a thing! John and his guy Jerry arrived right on time as promised the morning of my move. My building manager(being the responsible guy that he is) forgot to show up for work and lock off the elevator. Despite this, John and Jerry got to work anyway. The building manager finally decided to show up 45 minutes later and I couldn't believe it, John and Jerry were almost already half done! Not having much experience with moving contractors, I got a few quotes from different movers(big and small) and finally decided on John Q. I was a little cautious at first when he said that he didn't do written estimates and only charged by an hourly rate but I decided to give him a chance anyway based on his existing reviews, reasonable rates and friendly demeanor over the phone. All I can say is that I'm extremely satisfied with John Q and would not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. They were honest, efficient, careful, experienced and professional. John Q moving was by far the best moving company we have ever dealt with. We had three different moving companies involved at different parts of our move, and John Q was easily the better of the three. The care they took in our belongings and furniture, shrink wrapping everything that could potentially get scratched or marked up, the efficiency of their work crew in pre-loading items at the top of each staircase to create a train to effectively move boxes down the stairs in minimal time was impressive. And of course when stacking and organizing the moving truck with our items, they did it room by room to make sure when they offloaded everything would be done efficiently and effectively with minimal time wasted. We used John Q Moving for our recent house move, and we were happy with their service. All our furniture was handled carefully, they shrink wrapped most of our stuff. John came to our house and saw what we were moving first, then provided a quotation. He estimated that the move would take about 4 hours but it actually took 5. I was worried that our furniture would not fit in the truck, but it did except for few small boxes which I ended up moving in my car. Their prices seem to be comparable to few other moving companies I called, but we ended up choosing John Q because they came out and provided an estimate after seeing what we need to move and they committed to it, they turned out to be professional and we are happy we chose John Q for our move. read more

I cannot recommend this company enough. As a single retired lady the prospect of downsizing was overwhelming. Needless to say I really needed to rely on my movers and this company was phenomenal. Great and very competitive pricing, they kept in touch prior to my move, showed up when they were scheduled on the dot! A beautiful and clean van, great friendly staff and nothing but courtesy was shown during the event. They wrapped all of my wooden furniture, took care of each item and nothing was damaged. They listened to me, followed my suggestions as to furniture placement, and after all of that my ultimate bill actually wound up being less than originally quoted. I was very happy with their service. We moved to our townhome, and the move went smoothly. The owner was helpful and friendly on the phone and when we met, and got me some wardrobe boxes in advance which were super helpful .( I hate folding clothes!) I had an amazing experience with John Q recently with my end of month move! I was on a super tight timeline and I had to say I was in good hands. Moving can be very frustrating, nerve-wracking but they made my day A LOT easier. It was a rainy day, they came prepared with wrappers and tools. I used John Q Moving when I moved to my new townhouse and they were fantastic. Every aspect of the move went smoothly. They used a cover that protected my new carpet. They wrapped all our stuff, they even delivered and assembled the new furniture I bought from IKEA. I would recommend planning your move in advance as I wanted to book the last day of the month but procrastinated with my planning, and by the time I called they were already busy that day, so we had to change our dates. I chose John Q because they were a smaller, local company. WOW, have to say was my best experience moving! The guys were right on time and never stopped working and even went the extra mile by taking apart a bed I had issues with. While I was getting the run-around and price gouged by other moving companies, John Q pulled through for me. All we wanted moved was a huge stainless steel fridge, a king size bed and a book shelf. I just finally emptied out the storage locker at Maple Leaf Storage (604-533-1030) after storing for a year and a half and everything was dry, all in one piece, and sensibly stacked into my tiny 5 X 10' locker.
