The first gentleman who greeted us had to, understandably, pass us off to a young man as he was helping another customer. The young man (early 20s) seemed very uninterested in locating the vehicle, as it had apparently been moved to another location over the weekend. He did not even offer to do the bare minimum of looking up where the truck is now located. He stated where he thought it might have been moved too but was uncertain. Simple fact is that we are in the market for 2 cars, I am simply undecided on what I want. You would think that if someone walks in and asks about a very specific vehicle, a salesman might become a bit more attentive to the request. Instead Smith Auto lost a 68k+ deal tonight and and any potential future sales. I genuinely expected better of a "Family" dealership.

The dealership was able to provide additional value by offering products at their cost, which significantly reduced the markup I was originally concerned about. When I questioned the charge, I was told it covered paint protection and the StarGuard vehicle protection/GPS system, and that it could not be removed. What made this frustrating was not just the charge itself, but the timing of the disclosure. By that point, I had already made the trip, invested the time, and was in a position where walking away was not simple because I genuinely needed a vehicle. I also struggled to understand the value of the paint protection considering the truck already had visible swirl marks and some paint imperfections. Because of the unexpected add-on, I chose to remove the service plan I originally intended to purchase. At the end of the day, I am grateful they were able to get me financed and I do appreciate James' efforts during the process.
