We had 40 min. for 2 adults and 7 year old to shower and get ready for a formal wedding. Despite all efforts, we were late by 15 min w/o hair or makeup fully done. Both lights by bed did not work. It is good access to I-20, clean, good beds, the indoor pool is great. But nothing makes up for poor planning and that was NOT on my part. I do not have pictures, no time for that. Lastly, we left the room with all trash gathered in their bags, towels in neat pile on bathroom floor, not a piece of trash anywhere and yet they charged me my 50.00 deposit that was suppose to be refunded. I paid 178.15 for 1 night. I held up my agreement, they did not.

I had to request a new room since my company policy does not allow us to stay on the first floor. They were helpful in adjust to the accommodations I requested with the need to be off the first floor. The only thing I've noticed which is not their fault is that the water quality in west Monroe is poor. The water has a brownish tint to it and is quite discolored. The room did come with two water bottles, a fridge, and the linens were also clean and pillows were soft. The shower had an adjustable head so water pressure was fine. Breakfast in the morning was a standard Hilton complementary breakfast and gets the job done. All around I will be staying there again due to the location and cleanliness. It is near a few steakhouses like Texas Roadhouse and Logan's. It is also a few minutes away from duck commander if you are looking to check out a local site while in town. In my opinion it checks all the boxes minus the water discoloration which is beyond their control.

Maybe the relatively low rate should have been a red flag. At check-in, things seemed fine. The interior of the building was in good condition and it looked like a typical Wingate. The room appeared clean and comfortable, but that's where the positive impression stopped. I went to switch on a light by the bed and nearly cut my fingers on a jagged, broken light switch. The hotel advertised a spa, but it was boarded up. The pool room was also dark, suggesting it was closed as well. Most of the ice machines in the building were broken, but luckily one on the second floor did work. When I checked out, a disinterested female clerk didn't even say thank you or goodbye. Just silence as I asked to check out and she threw a receipt at me. Very unprofessional. Overall, the room was tolerable given the price, but I expect better from Wingate properties.

I arrived just after 11p to check in. Levi was at the desk and told me the hotel was sold out. I showed him my email confirmation. He repeated they were sold out and canceled my reservation. I asked if the hotel would be putting me up someplace else. He told me it was up to me to figure it out and he didn't know the hotel policy for this and he left. It was 1130pm and they were sending a single female out in a strange city to fend for herself! Not okay. I was able to get some help from Ciera when I explained it to her. She was able to get me a room at the West Monroe location after midnight, but only for 1 night and at a higher rate. Ciera would have Denice (manager) call me in the morning. I went there and they said I had to check out in the morning. I checked out at 830am, Denice never called so I went back, she was not there and this hotel was still sold out. Left it up to me again. Luckily a room opened up at the West Monroe location and I was then able to stay there for the remaining 5 nights, again for more money than my original reservation. I have tried to reach Denice multiple times and to this day I have not heard a word from her. We are Hilton gold members. We travel a decent amount. This is not how things are handled when you oversell.
