The room was clean and didn't smell which is amazing compared to my last hotel stay at a Hilton. The staff was fine. I had to request a new room since my company policy does not allow us to stay on the first floor. They were helpful in adjust to the accommodations I requested with the need to be off the first floor. The only thing I've noticed which is not their fault is that the water quality in west Monroe is poor. The water has a brownish tint to it and is quite discolored. The room did come with two water bottles, a fridge, and the linens were also clean and pillows were soft. The shower had an adjustable head so water pressure was fine. Breakfast in the morning was a standard Hilton complementary breakfast and gets the job done. All around I will be staying there again due to the location and cleanliness. It is near a few steakhouses like Texas Roadhouse and Logan's. It is also a few minutes away from duck commander if you are looking to check out a local site while in town. In my opinion it checks all the boxes minus the water discoloration which is beyond their control. read more

The hotel looks updated which was a plus, but the freshness soon wore off. The receptionist was arrogant and talked down to people. While we were in the elevator a man told us the room he paid for that night was already filled for the night and had to get another room! Our room looked very good superficially but my wife had to clean the bathroom because the bat tub smells of urine! After she cleaned she told me how disgusting the bathroom was. Which made us pay attention to details throughout the hotel, which led us to notice how dirty this re-modeled hotel really was. The next morning we cautiously went for breakfast, as we were getting our food ready the attendant sneezed over the food counter without covering or turning her head, the second time she sneezed she did. Recently stayed at this hotel while in town for a funeral. Overall the hotel was beautiful and close to eateries and the interstate. My only issue was with housekeeping staff. If checkout time is noon, why are they knocking on doors at 9:30am. I was really upset about that. They didn't allow for adequate rest in the morning. I skipped breakfast and really wanted to sleep in until 11am and to be awaken as if to get up and get out the hotel. read more

In the hotel business consistency is the name of the game across multiple properties and states. This Hampton inn in West Monroe misses the mark by a long shot. Water pressure really not there, was the water hot, yes did it barely come out off the shower head with more than a spittle, no. Free breakfast, I hope so. If it were my last meal, I would rather chew a healthy breakfast of gravel and tinfoil. No full sized muffins, no bananas, no sausage, and water-downed scrambled eggs. I try to stay at Hampton Inn during my work travels. The front desk lady was not friendly and can't find my reservation even thought I gave my name untill I had to search for my email confirmation. I checked in late and was really tired from my driving and I got no help from the front desk helping me with my luggage. It took me two trips to get my things to my room. The room was clean but I would have like it if they had the room ac on and the fridge pre turn on since I did called to inform them I would be checking in after hour. I'm staying at the non-smoking section but once you use the elevator, you can smell the smoker that used the elevator. They should have a fresher or something in there. I just use the stairs to avoid the smell. Breakfast is ok, it's very limited but I do love to make my own waffles. I'm a little disappointed on their evening cookies that they have in the front lobby for customers. I've been to other Hampton Inn and it's looks so much yummy and tempting. Cookies over here is small and doesn't look appealing. House keeping are friendly when I pass by them in the hallway. read more

The staff at the desk was very unwelcoming when we walked in. The hotel was overrun by a baseball team that was SO incredibly loud in the halls and NO ONE seemed to tell them a darn thing and they were banging on doors and in the hallway at all hours of the night. Then the morning we were leaving we left our dogs upstairs (seeing as this is supposedly pet friendly) and I get a call that someone is complaining about my dog barking for an hour when I'd been downstairs for like 10 min grabbing food. Then the front desk proceeds to call me AGAIN to tell me the same thing and I wasn't even able to finish my breakfast. The rooms say they are for up to 5, and I put on my reservation we had 3 adults and 3 children (8 & 7) and the room was definitely NOT for 5. When I called downstairs the front desk said it depends on size of person and technically they are for 5 and he proceeds to tell me there is no other room. The service was horrendous and the info given on the hotel was less than helpful. I'm so sad I spent over $300 on this stay! read more

If this is what Hilton is going to do with their Hampton chain going forward, I just might have to go back to making Hilton my primary hotel chain (I converted to Marriott when Hilton, yet again, watered down their points). This is a new hotel so I assume it reflects where Hilton is going, and that is a good place. The rooms are large, almost double the size of your traditional Hampton. Hampton also updated the interior of the rooms, so they look at feel much more modern (if not a little dark). The gym is also significantly larger than similiar hotel chains, and has a large free weight rack going all the way to 50 lbs. There are 4 treadmills, with ample room to exercise on the floor. All in all, its the best Hampton I have stayed at, and I have stayed at quite a few. Check it out, you will be glad you did! read more

I went down to take my towels to the front desk (apparently you can't get more towels until you've returned the ones you have already used) to receive face towels and ask questions related to breakfast options and she walked off as I was asking my (three) questions, my last question was pool availability; she stated it was suppose to open at nine a.m. but she can't open until the maintenance man service it and she couldn't give me a definite answer of when. This Hampton Inn has everything I've come to expect from a Hampton stay, from the fresh cookies at check-in to the good breakfast at checkout. It's a relatively new property, and clean.Yep, the water is yellow, but I challenge you to find a hotel in Monroe that doesn't have that problem. They even give you free bottled water in the room to make up for it. I did have a problem during my stay. My hair dryer blew up at 10 pm, and they didn't have a replacement available, so I had to sleep with wet hair all night (my hair is thick and long and takes forever to dry so it was super uncomfortable). For that reason, I decided to ask for the Hampton 100% guarantee at checkout. I had never asked for it before and I was quite nervous, but the manager was understanding and perfectly pleasant about the whole thing. We had a bad experience with the billing at this hotel. While mistakes happen, the problem was in the manager's response. We booked the hotel as a reward night with hotels.com. Hotels.com booked for us as requested but the hotel by Hampton Inn West Monroe's own admission made a mistake by charging our credit card for the price of the room instead of doing the reward the hotels.com. I spoke with the manager who said I'm very busy with a list of things to do ahead of you and I will try to take care of it. I spent 3 hours on the phone trying to resolve the issue. In the in end Hotels.com refunded our reward and perked us. Never heard a response from this callous, indifferent hotel manager. I stayed at this hotel for a work event. We had a block of rooms for our group. I booked a few rooms for myself and a few students that were going to come to our event. However, one student had to cancel the week of the event. I called to cancel one room asking if it was still ok to cancel and was told that since I was calling a few days before the event, they could cancel the room. I then get my credit card statement to see I was charged for the cancelled room. I called the hotel to find out that I cancelled within 48 hours which is the regular policy, however because we had a block of rooms,the policy is actually 72 hours. I then explain the situation that I first asked if it was ok to cancel because otherwise we could have given the room to someone but was told everything was fine and it was ok to cancel the room. Of course, this was a matter for the manager and I was told I'd get a call back. I just called for the 4th time this morning, once again not speaking to the GM whom I've been assured would call me back ASAP. Regardless of the fact that their employee told me I could cancel, they are not refunding the charge...even though we gave them plenty business with all the other people booking rooms and the fact that the person I talked to on my 3rd call said that they were actually able to book the room I cancelled (so they lost no money...but made TWICE the money on the room). My final frustration isn't even that they should refund it since I was told I could do so, it's that I've had to call FOUR TIMES to get an answer. And never spoke to the GM. I never once got anyone to call me back to settle the matter one way or another. If it's up to me, our organization will never stay at this hotel again due to this terrible customer service. The hotel is nice enough but if you care about getting a problem dealt with, look elsewhere. They will not handle your matter professionally or timely. read more

This hotel lacks a lot. It was bug in bed first night not a bed bug but it was there. Next morning I ask front desk to ask house keeping to vacuum real good around bed. The lady at front could care a less. Breakfast I guess you could say it's good. But it's hard to come by. They don't put out the hot food out,but a little at a time. It's exactly what you'd expect for Hampton Inn - clean, comfortable rooms and a good breakfast (considering it's included with the rate). That would normally get 4 stars from me, but I gave a 5th for the friendliness and excellent customer service from everyone we interacted with at the hotel. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh - there was something for everyone. Much better than the places that only offer waffles. In addition to the waffles they had fresh fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, sausage, bagels with egg/cheese, etc. Wonderful for those of us who cannot have bread! We only stayed here overnight (3 rooms of us) while passing through. I realized some time later that I'd left my pillow there but in the craziness of our vacation I forgot to call. When we were driving home a week later, I called to see if they might have saved it. The lady who answered spent a few minutes checking and then informed me that she did indeed have it and would hold it at the desk for me. I would think that after a week, many places might have thrown it away since no one had called but they didn't. Much appreciated since it was a brand new (and not cheap) pillow! read more

This place is a joke. Didn't get room we reserved because staff said it's a first come first serve basis. Heard loud noises throughout the night. Housekeeping knocked on the door at 9:30 A.M. and then again 15 minutes later another one knocked. We felt harrassed to leave, check out time is noon. After we left the "manager" called and said that the housekeeper said she smelled smoke and if it smelled like smoke we would be charged $150 extra. We had complained to the lady at the front desk when we left. We don't even smoke and if we did we aren't stupid enough to smoke in a small hotel room with our 3 month old baby. Well, the rooms are beautiful and clean, and MOST of the staff is great. However, we have family here and decided to stay in a nice hotel so that we could swim...however, at 9 a.m. we go to the pool and it is locked; after waiting in a long wait to talk to the desk, we discover that, even though the sign on the pool says it opens at 8, they "don't usually open until 10" and "it has to be cleaned" first. Again, this is why we spend $100 a night when we could sleep somewhere for free. Also don't know why they bother to have a sign if, indeed the pool doesn't open till 10, and then AFTER it's cleaned (why can't they clean it early in the morning--or at night, since it closes at 10 anyway). Since checkout is at noon, the chances of getting a swim in are zilch; meanwhile, we're just sitting here wondering whether to go ahead and leave. Okay, I have amended this review to add a start and to note that after more talking to the front desk, and, I suppose, the pool guy showing up, we were able to get into the pool after all, and have a lovely swim! I still think that if you have a sign that says the pool opens at 8, it should open at 8, and it took both of us talking to the front desk to get something done, but overall, we're happy with how it all turned out. The hotel facility was up to the Hampton's usual high quality. The staff was extremely friendly. However the city water was a disaster. It was cloudy and discolored. But worst of all it had an strong odor from the local paper mill. There was a note from the hotel bathroom which said the water was tested by the city and safe for all uses including bathing. But did not mention drinking. Local citizens recommended not drinking the water. Bottled water was supplied by the hotel which we used for drinking and teeth brushing. I wish we had been warned about this before we booked. read more

I am very pleased with this hotel. The entire staff is very friendly and you can sense that they enjoy being here. The rooms are perfect and as well as the breakfast in the mornings. Great location and nearly around the corner from the Duck Commander warehouse. They told me that they contract with the Robertson family to provide rooms for the film crew. I am writing this review due to the extraordinary lack of compassion demonstrated by the Hampton Inn West Monroe. My wife and I made several reservations last spring for a variety of vacations we planned to take during the summer. One included a 3 night visit to Monroe. Since then my wife was diagnosed with leukemia and has been hospitalized indefinitely for treatment. All of our summer plans had to be cancelled, which involved cancelling several airline tickets, hotels, and car rentals. Most of these reservations were listed as "non-refundable." However, after communicating with all parties about our unpredictable circumstances, each company graciously arranged full refunds for us (with some airline penalties). Every organization, that is, EXCEPT for the Hampton. After speaking with a representative from the Hampton, as well as contacting the parent company The Hilton, I was informed via email that since the reservations were non-refundable there was nothing that they could do, but that the decision to refund is solely up to the Hampton. They further informed me that I would hear from the Hampton within 48 hours. It has now been 4 business days with no communication from the Hampton. I find it both shocking and deplorable that, even though Virgin Australia Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Aston Waikiki, Prescott Marriott, and various car rental companies found the empathy to waive their non-refundable policies, the Hampton would not. The apathy with which our situation was met has ensured that neither myself nor my family members will ever patronize The Hampton or its parent company The Hilton in the future. read more
